FOLLOW-UP-(from yesterday) WARNING TO WOMEN IN PEORIA AREA!

PEORIA — .The Peoria Police Department is investigating a series of armed and attempted armed robberies occurring in business parking lots throughout north Peoria.
In each of the five incidents, a suspect has approached a lone woman as she entered her vehicle, according to a news release. The robber usually displays a handgun, demands money and flees on foot.
The latest two incidents occurred within five minutes of each other Thursday night, when the suspects wore Halloween style masks.
About 7:30 p.m., a 17-year-old female employee from Dairy Queen, 8530 N. Knoxville Ave., told police as she sat in her car on her break she heard tapping on her driver's side window.
She looked up and saw a man wearing a white hockey mask - what she described to police as "Jason style" - and dark hooded sweatshirt staring back at her, according to a police report. He had a gun pointing in her direction.
The gunman demanded money, but the victim told him she didn't have any as her purse was inside the business. After asking one more time, the man ran west behind an apartment complex building in that area.
Five minutes later, two female employees of Busey Bank, 6699 N. Sheridan Road, were leaving the business. One of the women, 54, of Dunlap, stayed behind, sitting in her car parked in the driveway, talking on her cell phone to her husband.
A person wearing a white Halloween mask then pounded on the driver's side window and pointed a gun at the woman, police said. She drove off before the gunman could make any demands.
Peoria Police public information officer Doug Burgess said it was unlikely the same person committed both crimes, but advised people to take extra precaution during the Halloween weekend. http://www.pjstar.com

Tiffany Bonilla ran away from her home in Montgomery on Oct. 20 and was believed to be staying with friends or her mother in Aurora, who does not have legal custody of the girl.
Montgomery police said Bonilla's father believes either her friends or her mother are keeping her "hidden" from him.
Anyone with information about Bonilla's whereabouts should call Montgomery police, 630-897-8707, or Aurora Area Crime Stoppers, 630-892-1000.

Sweet Dreams-Follow -up-GIRLFRIEND TO BE CHARGED WITH BOYFRIEND'S MURDER

PEORIA — .Prosecutors on Friday filed murder charges against the live-in girlfriend of a man killed last week.
Nora J. Patton, 47, of 1700 N. Machin Ave. faces two counts of first-degree murder for the Oct. 23 death of Johnny Tyler who was found dead at his home. Little information is contained in the charges which were filed Friday morning.
Patton, who also goes by the name Nora Patton-Keeton, is expected to appear in Peoria County Circuit Court at 2:30 p.m. where prosecutors will lay out a brief statement of facts as well as set a new bond for her. Patton had already been facing obstructing justice charges for allegedly lying to police about where she was when Tyler was shot once in the head.
At an earlier hearing where Patton’s bond was set at $40,000 on the obstructing justice count, prosecutors said it was Patton who reported Tyler’s death. The two lived together, police have said.
Patton told police she found his body when she returned home from a night of “partying,” according to prosecutors. Police did not initially find a weapon at the scene, and there were no signs of forced entry to or items missing from the home.
Based on the condition of the body, police believe Tyler was shot about midnight, according to prosecutors. It appeared Tyler’s body was found where he was shot, and that he had lived for a short period after being shot.
Patton told investigators she had gone out to party after work and was with a certain individual from 11 p.m. Friday to 1 a.m. Saturday. That person, however, later told police that she was not with Patton at that time.(Peoria Journal Star)

Woman tries to slash sleeping husbands throat

A soft-spoken Muslim woman tried to slit her Staten Island husband's throat as he slept - enraged that he made her eat pork and wear sexy skirts, officials said.
"It's time for you to die!" screamed Rabia Sarwar as she pounced on hubby Sheikh Naseem, sources said.
He woke early Wednesday to find her straddling his chest and hacking at his neck with a knife.
The burly 41-year-old, a teacher at Susan Wagner High School, overpowered the pretty petite Sarwar, 37, and grabbed the weapon.
The two have only been together for five months. For Nasseem, it was his third try after his first two marriages failed. The Pakistani-born Naseem was not a practicing Muslim but sought a traditional wife; their pairing was arranged through family friends.
"Being that he didn't do very well the first two times, he thought he would try a woman of his own culture," one of Naseem's ex-wives told the Daily News on condition that she not be identified.
"She is very soft-spoken, very low-key," the woman said. "I would not have dreamed anything like this would happen."
But authorities said she was furious that Naseem stayed so Western: "She's a very devout Muslim and she felt that he got her to marry him under false pretenses," a source said. "He doesn't really observe any of the traditions of Islam. She says he forced her to eat pork and wear short skirts."
She also claimed that his favorite author is Salman Rushdie, reviled by devout Muslims after writing the prophet-bashing "The Satanic Verses."
Sarwar was released on $25,000 bail after being arraigned yesterday on attempted murder rap charges. She claimed "months of emotional abuse and duress," sources said. Cops had no record of domestic abuse complaints against Naseem.

I will never understand stories like this, how can a person become so cold blooded???

The husband of a West Side mother found slain inside the trunk of her car this week has been charged with her murder.
Darron Brewer, 22, of the 3700 block of West Belden Avenue, was charged Thursday night with first-degree murder in the shooting death of his wife Kenyatae Collier-Brewer, police said.
Police said Brewer -- who initially claimed his wife had gone missing -- said he spotted her Chevrolet Monte Carlo Monday night in an alley in the 2200 block of North Tripp Avenue. Inside the trunk, authorities discovered Collier-Brewer, 22, who'd been shot multiple times.
Police said Brewer killed his wife of two years and mother of three in order to collect benefits from her life insurance policy.
Collier-Brewer, 22, a nursing assistant at the Alden Northmoor Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, leaves behind daughter, Darriona, 1; and two sons, Darron, 9 months, and Donte, 4, with Brewer fathering the two younger children.
Collier-Brewer's family expressed relief and shock at news of the charges.
"We weren't completely shocked, but we were still kind of shocked that he would do something like this," Collier-Brewer's aunt, Bess Jones said late Thursday.
Jones said family members were leery of the young husband after learning of his criminal background. According to court records, Brewer pleaded guilty on Dec. 5, 2005 to one count of defrauding a financial institution before Circuit Court Judge Marvin Luckman. Brewer was sentenced to one year of court supervision and was ordered to perform four days of community service, working for the Cook County sheriff's work alternative program.
Collier-Brewer also endured several brushes with danger that the couple explained away as accidents, Jones said.
Last year, while pregnant with her son, she was shot at the stairwell of her family's apartment. Most recently, Collier-Brewer suffered cuts to her face in what was described as someone throwing a bottle at her while inside of her vehicle. http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com

Mom Confesses To Smoking Crack

Queens mom admitted she smoked crack, did heroin and drank booze before she wrecked a minivan, killing two foster children, officials said.
From her bed at Jamaica Hospital, Sheila Bethea detailed a binge that started in the wee hours Monday, before she got behind the wheel to drive with five children - none wearing seat belts.
"[Bethea] stated ... she smoked crack cocaine around 1 or 2 a.m., that she did heroin around 9 a.m. and that she had drank one alcoholic beverage around noon that same day," a detective said in an affidavit.
Investigators believe Bethea, 45, wrapped a crack pipe in a tissue and hid it in a body cavity after the crash shortly before 5 p.m., law enforcement sources said.
Tests on the pipe and her blood to determine whether she was high while driving have not been completed, the sources said.
Bethea was held on $500,000 bail last night after pleading not guilty to manslaughter, assault and endangering the welfare of a child charges. http://www.nydailynews.com

Peterson suing bank for freezing line of credit
Drew Peterson is suing JPMorgan Chase for freezing a $220,000 line of homeowner's credit he was using to pay for legal and other expenses, according to a lawsuit filed late Monday.
The federal lawsuit alleges Chase -- shortly after Peterson was arrested in May on charges he drowned his third wife -- illegally shut the spigot on the home equity line that Peterson and fourth wife Stacy took out on their Bolingbrook home in 2005.
The bank sent Peterson a letter dated May 15 saying the account was being frozen due to Peterson's "imprisonment." Affidavits filed by Chase executives in response to subpoenas filed by Peterson's criminal defense attorney said it was a "pure banking decision" and that Peterson would be "unable to pay his account if we allowed it to be substantially drawn down."
In his lawsuit Peterson argues that his income has improved since taking out the original line of credit. The former Bolingbrook police sergeant now makes $108,909 a year -- including $2,758 in monthly Social Security benefits and his $6,000-a-month police pension -- up from the $74,000 he made when he opened the credit line.
Joel Brodsky, Peterson's lawyer, recently said he would not fight efforts by Peterson's homeowner's insurance to remove itself from paying for his legal defense in a civil wrongful death lawsuit filed by Savio's family.
Peterson is the sole suspect in the disappearance of Stacy Peterson but has not been charged. He remains jailed on murder charges in connection with the death of his third wife Kathleen Savio.

LAUGH OUT LOUD

DEAR ABBY: I'm engaged to the man of my dreams. Our wedding is two months away, and I couldn't be more excited about starting my life with "Jeff."

Only one thing bothers me. When the two of us eat alone together, Jeff throws his manners out the window. He kind of eats like a pig. He opens his mouth as wide as it will go and takes as big a bite as he can. Then, as he's chewing (even with his mouth closed) he makes noises. I can't get past the noises!

I know Jeff knows better because he doesn't eat like this when we're out with his parents or having dinner with friends. The first time he did it I thought he was joking. The second time, I thought he was just really hungry. Now I realize this is the way he eats. We have known each other two years, so we have had plenty of time to get acquainted.

How do I tell him his eating behavior gets under my skin? I don't want any children we have to learn these habits. Jeff has a tender heart, and I don't want to hurt his feelings. -- LOOKING ASKANCE IN TEXAS

DEAR LOOKING: You are about two years late in telling your fiance how his eating habits affect you. If you can't discuss something as basic as this, how are you going to discuss the challenging problems that will inevitably arise after the two of you are married?

You said yourself that Jeff knows better. He eats this way in front of you because he thinks you don't mind. So please level with him now -- before the wedding. It won't hurt his feelings; it will set him straight. (Arca Max Publishing)

HUSBAND INSISTS ON REPEATING CRUEL PROPHECY ABOUT HIS SON
Abigail Van Buren (Armax Publishing)
DEAR ABBY: My brother, "Luke," died young due to drug addiction. When our son, "Adam," misbehaves, my husband blames me. He says Adam is going to end up "just like Luke," and it will be my fault.

My mother bailed my brother out of his problems, but I have never done that with our son. I have told my husband numerous times how cruel it is to suggest Adam could end up like Luke, but he continues to say it and then "remind" me if it happens, it will be because of me.

My husband is a wonderful man in every other way, but he doesn't seem to realize how hurtful and unnecessary his cruel words are when he compares our son to my brother. -- SAD MOM IN TEXAS

DEAR SAD MOM: Wake up and smell the coffee. Your husband realizes exactly how cruel that comparison is, and has since the first time you expressed how deeply hurtful it was. I see nothing helpful or constructive about comparing your son to a boy who died too young and too soon. If it's said in front of Adam often, it could become a self-fulfilling prophecy. (Nothing like the power of suggestion.)

So stop feeling victimized and demand that your "wonderful" husband cut it out, because if something should happen, the fault will be HIS.

(Chicago Breaking News) Death of Oak Park toddler probed
Police and state child-welfare authorities were investigating the death this weekend of an 18-month-old Oak Park boy in the home of a woman arrested two weeks ago on an aggravated assault charge against a child.
Joshua Clayton, 18 months, of the 700 block of South Scoville Avenue in the the west suburb, was found unresponsive Saturday morning, authorities said. An autopsy today by the Cook County medical examiner's office was inconclusive, pending further studies, but the Department of Children and Family Services was investigating the death.
Four other children at the home have been staying with relatives since DCFS began an investigation on Oct. 6 into a prior incident at the home, said department spokesman Jimmie Whitelow.
Emergency crews were called to Joshua's home Saturday morning about 9:15 a.m. by his mother, who found him unresponsive and not breathing, said Oak Park Police Watch Commander Ladon Reynolds. The boy was declared dead and his body taken to the Cook County medical examiner's office, Reynolds said.
Police are conducting a death investigation in the case, and were awaiting futher word from the medical examiner's office, Reynolds said.
Police reports on the department's Web site indicate an adult female was arrested on Oct. 5 on an aggravated assault charge in the block where Joshua lived, but Reynolds said today he had no information about the prior arrest there.
And the Web site of the Wednesday Journal, an Oak Park newspaper, reported that a 29-year-old woman who lived at Joshua's address was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and battery to a police officer the night of Oct. 5 after standing over an Oak Park boy with a knife and threatening to kill him, then elbowing a police officer who responded to the incident.
The news and police reports do indicate the age of the boy who was the victim in the Oct. 5 incident.
Whitelow said he could not answer why the four other children left Joshua's home, but Joshua remained there.

I READ THIS ON CHICAGO BREAKING NEWS,THERE ARE S-O-O-O MANY PERVERTS OUT THERE,AT LEAST THERE IS ONE LESS BECAUSE THANK GOD THEY CAUGHT THIS ONE, FINALLY.THIS PERVERT WAS VIOLATING KIDS FOR YEARS ACCORDING TO THIS ARTICLE. A personal trainer suspected of repeatedly molesting the children of single mothers he dated has been captured by authorities, after he was a fugitive for two years on an Urbana molestation charge, the Cook County sheriff's department announced today.
Kenji L. Haley, 31, had been at large since 2007, when he was charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a child under 10 years old in Urbana. The charge stems from 10 acts of molestation against one victim, while another investigation is underway into a case involving a second possible victim from Urbana, the sheriff's department said.
Investigators believe Haley has been molesting children for years, targeting single mothers who have young children.
The sheriff's department said he would stay with the women long enough to earn their trust and eventually be left alone with the children, even staying overnight in the same house with them.
After molesting them, he would threaten them and say their mother would never believe them or that she would think the child was simply trying to break the couple up. Haley would also present gifts to those children as a way to earn their silence.

The sheriff's department said they recently learned that Haley was living in Cook County and seeing as many as 10 women with young children. The sheriff department's fugitive warrants division, in conjunction with the U.S. Marshal's fugitive task force, began searching for Haley at known addresses where he was staying.
On Thursday, a single mother in Hazel Crest told them he had just left her home. He was found later the same day at a house in the 8700 block of South Kingston Avenue in Chicago, where he was staying with another single mother.
He was arrested without incident, the sheriff's department said.
They said they have now opened an investigation into Haley regarding possible victims in Cook County, while he has been taken into custody by Champaign County authorities.
Haley also has had warrants issued for his arrest in cases unrelated to the molestation charge. He is wanted in Vermillion County for unlawful use of a credit card and in Champaign County for failure to pay more than $25,000 in child support.
"Anyone who knows him can feel safe knowing he is custody," Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart said in a statement. "We hope there are no other victims, but if there are, we certainly hope they feel strong enough to come forward to someone they trust and tell what happened.

I've been following this story since Stacy Peterson first disappeared and to this day,has never been found.

Prosecutors gather evidence to rebut Peterson defense(Chicago Breaking News)
Prosecutors in the Drew Peterson murder case are gathering evidence to rebut an argument the former Bolingbrook police sergeant's defense team will likely make - that Peterson's third wife Kathleen Savio drowned accidentally in a bathtub.

The state has subpoenaed autopsy and other reports and records from 14 counties, including Will, Cook and other collar counties on their "bathtub-related fatalities" from 2003 to 2005. A spokesman for the state's attorney's office declined comment.

The subpoenas, dated Oct. 15, read "filed under seal" but are included in public documents on the case.

Peterson attorney Joel Brodsky said accidental drownings are not "unheard-of" citing one national report that found 341 bathtub-related deaths in 2000.

"It's not common, but it happens," he said. "There's certainly going to be a number of those that were healthy people who slipped in the tub and hit their head."

Savio's 2004 death was originally ruled accidental. Her remains were exhumed in 2007, after Peterson's fourth wife, Stacey, disappeared, and Savio's death was then ruled a homicide. Peterson's fourth wife has never been found, though he remains the sole suspect in her disappearance.

CLTV host's parents' home focus of murder probe
October 20, 2009

The investigation of the slaying of a CLTV host's parents has shifted from the south suburban forest preserve where they were found to their Indiana home.

This evening, the Cook County Forest Preserve police turned the probe into the shooting deaths of Milton and Ruby McClendon, whose son, Garrard, is a talk show host, over to Hammond police after investigators determined their home in the in the 1000 block of Field Street appears to be the crime scene.

The couple's bodies were discovered about 12:30 p.m. Monday in the Wentworth Woods off Campbell Road between Pulaski and Michigan City Roads.

An autopsy performed today determined that Milton McClendon died from a gunshot wound to the head and Ruby McClendon died from multiple gunshot wounds. Milton McClendon, who was identified through his heart pacemaker, was 78, and his wife was 76, records show.
Police asked the public to look for the couple's green 1997 Cadillac El Dorado two-door, with the Indiana license plate of 365ZTN that expires in 2010.

Inside of the couple's Fields Street home, police could be seen conducting their investigation. Outside, longtime neighbors, friends and acquaintances reeled in shock at the death of the elderly couple rarely seen apart.

"It (doesn't) make sense," neighbor Tommie Dorsey said. "It would be curious to see how all of this unravels. I just can't see them letting someone in the house," Dorsey said.

The husband and wife had been one Hammond's first African-American residents and were pillars of the community, said Jeff Morrow, whose sister is married to the couple's son, Duane. "They wanted to stay in this community. They took a lot of pride in living here and being from here." (www.chicagobreakingnews.com)

It's a real blessing that this was not more serious...

An Elgin woman was being held on $50,000 bond Monday, after she stabbed her future husband in the arm with a knife, police said.

Kimberly A. Brady, 33, of the 0-100 block of South Crystal Street, was charged with aggravated domestic battery, a felony, as well as two misdemeanor counts of domestic battery.

Police say that the couple on Sunday were embroiled in an argument inside their home, when she stabbed him once in his left forearm.

Police did not have any information on the severity of his wound, but did say he was taken to Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin for treatment. Police arrived at the hospital at 3:11 a.m. Sunday to interview him about the stabbing, Deputy Police Chief Jeffrey Swoboda said.

He was treated and released from the hospital Monday, said Heather Gates, a hospital spokeswoman.

Meanwhile, Judge Bruce W. Lester on Monday morning set Brady's bond at $50,000, which means she needs $5,000 to get out of jail.

She was unable to make bond and was taken to the Kane County lockup.

Her next court date is Nov. 18 at the Kane County Judicial Center.

She faces up to seven years prison, if found guilty of the felony charge. (Daily Herald)

ATLANTA -- A 46-year-old mother pleaded guilty Monday to barging into her daughter's Southside High School classroom and brutally beating her teacher in February 2008.

The mother, Georgia Thornton, apologized in court to the teacher, Felecia Williams.

Williams said the attack has left her with panic attacks and told the court she wanted Thornton and her daughter to pay for what they did.

“I was kicked, scratched, hit, punched and some of my hair was pulled out of my scalp,” said Williams.(WSBTV.COM report)

This Woman Longs To Return To Her Abuser

Karla Giraldo wants her man back. (New York Daily News)

Just days after her boyfriend, state Sen. Hiram Monserrate, was convicted of assaulting her, Giraldo told the Daily News she will ask a judge to lift the order of protection that has kept them apart for 10 months.

"I love him. We love each other and we want to be together again," the 30-year-old Giraldo said in an exclusive interview.

"I want to go back to the simple things we did as a couple before all this happened - decorating his apartment, going out shopping, or just sitting at home together."

Queens prosecutors originally slapped Monserrate with four felony and two misdemeanor counts. They accused him of deliberately cutting Giraldo near her eye with a broken glass in his Queens apartment on the morning of Dec. 19. The deep gash required 20 stitches to close.

On Thursday, State Supreme Court Judge William Erlbaum acquitted Monserrate of the slashing and convicted him of the lightest charge, reckless assault, for dragging Giraldo through his lobby on the way to the hospital.

"I've always said this was an accident," Giraldo said, speaking in Spanish over brunch at a Queens diner a mile from Monserrate's district office.

She wore a tight black sweater with red trim that accentuated her full figure, blue jeans and knee-high black boots.

"I never asked for an order of protection. Now that the case is over, what is the reason for keeping us separated?" she said.

"I feel that the justice system has been unjust to me."

At several points in the hour-long interview, Giraldo brushed aside the waves of hair around her face with her hand and pointed to the spot of the injury - revealing there was no visible scar.

"It was a tiny cut," Giraldo said. "When I arrived at the hospital, it was bleeding a lot, but it wasn't very big," she said.

"I was scared and was afraid that any stitches would ruin my face. I wanted the doctors to just patch it up without using any needles."

Her account of an accident, of course, conflicts with the testimony of a nurse and doctor at Long Island Jewish hospital. Both say she first told them Monserrate cut her during an argument.

As she did in court, Giraldo denied she ever changed her story.

"That nurse and doctor didn't even treat me," she said. "We could barely understand each other. It was two other male doctors who gave me the stitches."

Many people believe she is lying to protect her abuser, something domestic abuse victims often do.

"Hiram has never hit me or mistreated me in the year we were together before this," she said.

Teen shot walking down street on South Side

A 14-year-old boy and an unknown female were shot this morning as they were walking down the street on Chicago's far South Side.

At about 12:35 a.m., police responded to shots fired in the 10400 block of South Wentworth Avenue and found the two victims with gunshot wounds, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.

The victims were southbound on Wentworth Avenue when someone opened fire, striking them both in their legs, Alfaro said.

The teen was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and listed in good condition, Alfaro said. He suffered a gunshot wound to his upper thigh, Alfaro said.

The woman, whose age is unknown, was taken to Roseland Community Hospital in good condition, Alfaro said. She suffered a gunshot wound to her lower leg, he said.

Police are investigating the incident. No one is in custody.

THIS MAN MURDERED HIS WIFE AND WAS ON THE RUN FOR 7 YEARS BEFORE BEING CAPTURED

A man who was extradited from Mexico was charged in the fatal stabbing of his wife in 2002 at their Back of the Yards neighborhood home on the South Side.

Armando Cruz, 35, was charged with murder, according to police.

The charges were approved at 7:33 p.m. Thursday after he was placed into custody in Mexico City and taken to America, police said.

Cruz is suspected of fatally stabbing his wife Maria Ramirez-Cruz March 18, 2002, during a domestic incident at their home at the time at 4859 S. Honore St., according to police who said Ramirez-Cruz was in her 30s at the time of her death.

Cruz had been at large since an arrest warrant was issued for him on May 6, 2002. (Chicago Sun-Times)

CLOSE TOO HOME---III (Justice Not Served) as published by me on ALLVOICES

Another man has been captured and charged with concealing a homocide in the case of Harry Powell Jr.(the man that was shot in the head, thrown off a balcony and burned in South Peoria in mid Sept.) It is believed the second man had fled to Chicago. No motive has been established for the victim's violent death. Both men ONLY face up to FIVE years in prison,if convicted. So it looks as if they WON'T BE CHARGED WITH THE ACTUAL MURDER ITSELF,just concealing it.I can only imagine how this poor victim's family must feel. The first man arrested Khaalig Battle is 27 and the second man James Korderoe is 23.Battle also was indicted on charges of armed robbery and home invasion for an unrelated Sept. 11 incident in the 2400 block of North Gale Avenue. Those charges allege he and another man had a firearm when they went into an apartment. Because prosecutors allege a handgun was used for the crime, 15 years would be added onto the base range of six to 30 years if they are convicted.

The apartment dwellers told police two men with guns kicked in a door, made them get down on the ground and demanded money. One of the victims was pistol whipped before the two robbers fled with an undetermined amount of money, court records indicate.

SO SAD..THIS YOUNG MOM WAS KILLED AT A CHICAGO BUS STOP(GANG VIOLENCE) FOLLOW-UP ARTICLE

Prosecutors: Killers of young mom looked for gang rivals(Chicago Breaking News)
A reputed gang member accused of shooting and killing a young mother of three at an East Garfield Park bus stop earlier this month was trying to shoot a rival gang member, prosecutors said today.
Bail was denied today for the man accused of shooting 20-year-old Natasha Howliet, Keith Pearson, who along with his twin brother Kelly Pearson was charged with first-degree murder in Howliet's slaying. Kelly Pearson's bail was set at $1 million today by Cook County Criminal Court Judge Israel Desierto.

About 8 p.m. Oct. 7, Howliet was waiting for a bus in the 3300 block of West Madison Street when witnesses stopped by the talk to her, said Cook County state's attorney's office spokesman Andy Conklin. While talking to her, he said, the witnesses saw a burgundy Pontiac car drive up with the twins, both members of the same gang, inside.
As the car was in the intersection, Keith Pearson, who was the passenger, fired five to six shots at Howliet and the witnesses, Conklin said, adding that Kelly Pearson, who was behind the wheel, then drove off.

Witnesses identified the brothers in photos and lineups, Conklin said. Kelly Pearson told to authorities that he knew his brother had a gun, and told them they were out to shoot rival gang members. Police have said Howliet "was a woman who was not involved in street gangs (or) narcotics."

Keith Pearson told authorities he shot Howliet, Conklin said, adding the case is a possible death penalty case.

The twins have numerous drug convictions in their criminal backgrounds. Kelly Pearson is currently on parole for a possession of a controlled substance.

VERY WEIRD!

Woman arrested for attempted sword attack (ArcaMax Publishing)
JERSEY CITY, N.J. (UPI) -- New Jersey police said an incident that started with a public urination summons ended with a woman attempting to attack another woman with a samurai sword.

Jersey City Police Lt. Edgar Martinez said an off-duty officer spotted a man urinating on a tree at about 1 a.m. Sunday and six people emerged from a house where a party was taking place to argue with the officer while he was writing the man a summons, The Jersey Journal, Jersey City, reported.

Investigators said Thanh Huynh, 39, emerged from the party during the argument and attempted to cut one of the women speaking with the officer with a three-foot-long samurai sword. Huynh was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Police said they do not know Huynh's motive for allegedly attacking the other woman.

Baby found in basement of West Side home critical
October 14, 2009 4:56 AM No Comments
A newborn was in critical condition this morning after it was found in the basement of an East Garfield Park neighborhood home where the child's mother gave birth early this morning, police said.

Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said police were called about 12:45 a.m. to the 700 block of North Central Park Avenue, where an 18-year-old had given birth.

The teen did not tell her family that she was pregnant or that she had given birth in the basement of the family's West Side home, Greer said. Family members noticed that she was bleeding and took her to Sacred Heart Hospital. She then told relatives she had earlier given birth, Greer said.

The baby later was found in the basement and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where it was in critical condition, Greer said. The mother's condition stabilized and she remains hospitalized, Greer said.

Police said they did not know the gender of the child. There are no other details available. The mother has not been charged with any crime at this time, Greer said.

This is TOTALLY DISGUISTING!!!

(Cambridge Chronicles News Article)

Cambridge — .
A 28-year-old Cambridge man who allegedly exposed his buttocks and genitalia in front of young children and a police officer last Friday told police it was just a joke.

“I made a mistake and I am sorry for pulling my pants down, I was mooning my friend,” Jeffrey Dashuta, of 74 Dana St., told officers moments after he exposed himself on Windsor Street, police said. "I know it was stupid, I am sorry."

Sorry wasn’t enough for the officers who allegedly witnessed Dashuta expose his butt and genitalia for approximately five seconds at 10:56 a.m. He was arrested and charged with open and gross lewdness.

Police said Dashuta was two blocks away from the Fletcher-Maynard elementary school when he pulled his pants down. A group of two- and three-year-old children with two adult supervisors were directly across the street, police said.

FOLLOW UP,THIS TEEN USED LIGHTER FLUID TO SET THIS 3 YR. OLD CHILD ON FIRE

An Aurora man who was accused today of spraying lighter fluid on his 3-year-old niece and then setting her on fire because he felt she was bothering him has had mental health problems since a car hit him three years ago, a relative said.

Raymundo Herrera, 17, of the 1200 block of South Grove Street, was being held in Kane County Jail in lieu of $3 million bail. He is charged with two counts of attempted murder, along with heinous battery and two other battery charges.

The girl suffered third-degree burns on 18 percent of her body and has been hospitalized since Monday night, when the attack occurred at Herrera's home.

"Herrera became upset at some point because she was bothering him while he was trying to listen to music, so he sprayed her with lighter fluid and lit her on fire," Aurora Public Information Director Dan Ferrelli said.

The girl, with her clothes on fire, went running down the stairs where her aunt and grandmother extinguished the flames and called 911.

The child was taken to Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora and later airlifted to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.

The aunt who tended to the girl said Wednesday that Herrera suffered a head injury after a car hit him three years ago while he played with another niece near the street.

"He has mental issues," said the aunt, who asked to not be identified. "That's not the right way for a 17-year-old to be acting toward his niece.

"He did it without knowing what he was doing."

The aunt said doctors performed a skin graft on the 3-year-old, and the family was hopeful she could leave the hospital soon. (Chicago Breaking News Article)

This Man Mistakely Shot & Killed His Wife To Be,thinking that she was a burglar..

On the eve of his wedding, a Florida man heard a burglar in his home, grabbed a gun and opened fire. Tragically, the supposed intruder turned out to be his live-in fiancee - who died in front of him.

It happened about 2:30 a.m. Friday while John Tabutt, 62, was in bed in Winter Springs and heard a suspicious noise and saw a figure in the dark hallway.

Thinking his girlfriend, Nancy Dinsmore, was still in bed, he pulled the trigger on his .38 caliber revolver - then collapsed in sobs when he realized she was the one prowling the house.

"I thought I had an intruder in the house," a moaning Tabutt told a 911 operator, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
"Honest to God, she looks dead," he said between sobs.

At one point, he thought he saw his fiancée take a breath.

"Hang in there, honey. Hang in there," he was heard telling her.

"We were supposed to get married. Get married this Saturday," Tabutt told the dispatcher.

He sobbed into the phone until the call ended.

Dinsmore was pronounced dead minutes after paramedics arrived.

"Right now, everything points to a tragic accident," Police Chief Kevin Brunell told the Associated Press, adding that investigators were awaiting forensic results.

The couple had lived together for about a year, but had been close for much longer, relatives said.

In the days before her scheduled wedding, Dinsmore was giddy.

"Two days and counting ... all is going well ... the roses for my table arrangements came in and the color is perrrrrrrrrrfect. ... weather ... 95 degrees ... and sunny for the wedding. thank heavens for air conditioning," she wrote in a message posted Thursday on Facebook.

Dinsmore, a grandmother, loved to travel with her husband-to-be, relatives said.

"They loved each other," Dinsmore's son-in-law, Scott Sposato, 39, told the Sentinel. "It was quite apparent."(NY Daily News)

SWEEPS UPDATE-NEGATIVE FEELINGS

I had a good time reminiscing about the good old days tonight. I had a great Friday night with my husband. He is 10 years my junior but, he remembers a lot about the good old days. The good old days for me are the 70's & the 80's. Even though I was in and out of abusive relationships, the music, movies and video's were awesome. I love Nostalgia......old black & white movies with such stars as Clark Gable,Lana Turner and Betty Davis, just to name a few. Fred McMurray was born in the same little town, that I was born and raised in. When I was a teenager growing up, I was fascinated by the Movie Stars. I read and read about the Movie Stars. I had all of these very SWEET DREAMS about my future, that never came to materialize. Actually,my life turned out to be the exact opposite of what I had visualized it to be. I had never in my wildest dreams imagined that I would be an abused woman time and time again, and that I would actually accept this treatment from men, time and time again, all because I desperately wanted someone to love me for the loser that I always thought that I was...........

A Very Sad Story

(I really feel bad for this couples 3 children)This is one of several stories that I've read today. (CNN News) The friend, who police will not name, was looking away from the computer screen when he heard a shot and a scream, police said. He turned back to the monitor, he told police, and no longer saw Meleanie Hain but instead saw Scott Hain firing several rounds from a handgun toward where his wife had been.

Police said that the woman's body had already fallen to the floor by the time the friend turned back to the screen.

Don't Miss
Soccer mom, husband shot dead
Scott Hain then went upstairs to a bedroom, where he shot himself in the head with a 12-gauge shotgun, police said.

Meleanie Hain was shot several times with a 9 mm handgun, police said. Her fully loaded 9 mm handgun was found in her backpack hanging on the back of the front door.

The couple's three children were home at the time of the killings, police Capt. Daniel Wright said. They were unharmed and took refuge at a neighbor's house before police arrived, he said.

Investigators have confiscated the webcam and computer, but cannot review what the friend says he saw because the online conversation was not recorded.

The death of the couple came four months after Meleanie Hain told her attorney she was separating from her husband, her attorney, Matthew B. Weisberg, told CNN Thursday. However, police said the couple still appeared to be living together.

Meleanie Hain drew media attention on September 11, 2008, when she carried a Glock strapped to her belt to her daughter's soccer game.

Nine days later her permit to carry a gun was revoked by Lebanon County Sheriff Michael DeLeo, who claimed she showed poor judgment by wearing the weapon to a child's game. County Judge Robert Eby later reinstated the permit.

SWEET DREAMS UPDATE-MURDERED SWIMSUIT MODEL

Jasmine Fiore's mom and former boyfriend both disliked Ryan Alexander Jenkins, the reality show contestant accused in the horrific killing of the swimsuit model. Lisa Lepore told the Today show that he was a "professional con man" and "a fake," and boyfriend Robert Hasman said he was glad that Jenkins was dead.

But while they might have feared the worst, they may not have been able to persuade Fiore to leave Jenkins once and for all. Even those closest to a domestic violence victim often feel powerless to help her, experts say.

"A victim is often alienated from friends and family by the abuser, and if someone says something to her about the abuse, she may not listen," says Lynne Z. Gold-Bikin, founder and former chair of the American Bar Association Section of Family Law's Commission on Domestic Violence and an advocate for abused women.

And, she says, the mistreatment begins insidiously and escalates. "The abuse typically starts not with the man smacking the woman, but with him undermining her behavior by saying things like, you look fat, this dinner tastes awful, why can't you keep the kids quiet," Gold-Bikin says. "Then he says he is sorry, and the victim thinks it is all her fault and that she is in control of the abuse."

Domestic violence is all about control and power, says Dr. Bill Tollefson, Ph.D., clinical director of the Women's Institute for Incorporation Therapy at Hollywood Pavilion in Hollywood, Florida. "The issue of loyalty is very strong, and it is the victim who thinks she has the problem," he says.

Fiore's ex-hubby beat her two months before the murder, according to court records.

"The victim always thinks she is the one with the problem," Tollefson says. "If cuts or bruises are present, she explains them away. And since the abuser isolates the victim from her friends and family, it may be hard to see her."

Though it can be frustrating to persuade a battered woman to get help, that doesn't mean you shouldn't try, says Dr. Lenore Walker, executive director of the Domestic Violence Institute and the author of The Battered Woman."

"It is never okay to 'mind our own business,' Walker says. "One way to help is to tell the person that we understand that they are being abused and we are there to offer support. Or hand the person a card with the phone number of the local battered woman's shelter so they can use it when they are ready."

Rather than confronting the victim, use a "validating approach," says Katherine Muller, assistant professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center. "Present some of the facts that you have in a non threatening way, and express concern in an open ended way so the individual can respond and give feedback," she says. "With this approach the person is less likely to be defensive and may even open up and see some of your points."

Sometimes, Walker suggests, it can be effective if you warn the abuser that if he doesn't stop his abusive behavior you'll call the police. "Domestic violence thrives when it is kept a secret," Walker says. "Friends and family should always interfere, but be careful not to bring about more violence to the woman."

The time when violence is most likely to occur is if a woman tries to leave an abuser. "This is the time she is most likely to be hurt or killed," Walker says.

Jasmine Fiore may have been desperately trying to make her escape from Jenkins when she was killed. In texts and emails with former boyfriend Hasman, she'd indicated that she wanted to leave her ex, according to Hasman. She was considering a trip to Las Vegas to see him, Hasman says, and had texted him, "I'm coming" early on the morning of August 15. That was the last message he received from her. ABUSIVE CLOSET MOM,STARVED DAUGHTER TO DEATH IN 1995

Why this woman was allowed to still have children in her custody is beyond me?? She had already murdered one child by starvation and only served six months in jail for the crime...........I was appauled when I read this story......Oklahoma closet-boy mom starved girl in Bronx in 1995

(DAILY NEWS ARTICLE)The Oklahoma woman who allegedly locked her son in a closet for four years also reportedly starved her daughter to death in the Bronx more than a decade ago - and served only six months in jail, law enforcement officials said.

LaRhonda McCall - whose 14-year-old son showed up malnourished at an Oklahoma City National Guard facility five days ago - pleaded guilty when accused of starving her daughter to death in the Bronx in 1995.

McCall, who went by LaRhonda Pressley then, took her daughter Ciara, 2, to Lincoln Hospital then, saying she was having trouble breathing, according to a news report at the time.

Ciara, who weighed just 14 pounds and could not walk or crawl, died there a week later, according to the report.

McCall served six months in jail after she pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter, said Steven Reed, spokesman for the Bronx district attorney.

Reed said he could not immediately find details about the girl's death or the case against McCall.

SWEET DREAMS UPDATE

I was about to turn in for the night when I heard a woman yelling and screaming at someone, and then I heard glass shattering. I did not know what was going on. I got up and looked out the living room window and there was a small group of people arguing and throwing things and slamming the front door to the house across the street. A few people were engaged in a fight. I guess that our new neighbors had a party or something. But, all of the noise startled me and it looked and sounded serious, I guess that it was serious because a few people were arrested by the police. I did the only thing that I knew to do and that was call 911. I'm still very uneasy in the wee hours in the morning, I don't really think that I will ever feel safe again after hours. Boy! That idiot abuser that my 22 year old daughter dated that damned near burned us alive, really screwed up my nights!!! Well, I'm going to try once again to sign-off till morning.........

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE HURTS---LOVE ISN'T SUPPOSE TO

ARE YOU A VICTIM OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE?

1. Is your partner threatening or violent towards you or the children? 2. Do you find yourself making excuses or minimizing your partner's behavior? 3. Do you feel completely controlled by your partner? 4. Do you feel helpless, trapped, alone, and isolated? 5. Do you blame yourself for the violence? 6. Does your partner blame you and tell you that you are the cause of all his problems? 7. Do you blame the violence on stress, on drugs/alcohol, or a bad childhood? 8. Does your partner constantly accuse you of having affairs when he can't account for 100% of your time? Does he tell you jealousy is a sign of love? 9. Do you fear going home? 10. Are you limited in your freedom like a child? (Go to the store and come straight home. It should take you 15 minutes.) 11. Do you find yourself lying to hide your partner's real behavior (for example, saying you fell down the stairs when actually you were pushed)? 12. Are you embarrassed or humiliated by your partner in an effort to control your behavior, especially in public? 13. Does your partner abandon you, leave you places, or lock you out? 14. Does your partner hide your keys, mail, or other important papers? (clarkprosecuter.org)

THE AFTER MATH OF CHILDHOOD SEXUAL ABUSE (by Dennis Thompson Jr.)

People who were sexually abused as children may have issues with sexual dysfunction and self-destructive behavior when they get older. Sexual abuse leaves many scars, creating feelings of guilt, anger, and fear that haunt survivors throughout their lives. Adults who have undergone sexual abuse as children commonly experience depression and insomnia. High levels of anxiety in these adults can result in self-destructive behaviors, such as alcoholism or drug abuse, anxiety attacks, and situation-specific anxiety disorders. The damage extends to the sexual abuse survivor's sense of their own sexuality. Many survivors also have trouble pursuing adult relationships and enjoying sex as an adult. The abuse can color a person's sexuality, preventing the survivor from pursuing a healthy sex life with a loving partner. Sexual Abuse and Sexual Behaviors In general, childhood sexual abuse survivors tend to either pursue sex recklessly as adults or to forgo sex completely, says Stephen L. Braveman, MA, a licensed marriage and family therapist in Monterey, Calif., and the western regional representative of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists. "They typically wind up with splitting behavior, where things become very black and white," he says. "Either they are very sexually active, or they shut down sexually." www.everydayhealth.com

SWEET DREAMS 4 -My fourth Entrie

Monday, July 6, 2009 Sweet Dreams 4 I remember back in June of 94,I was married to my 2nd abusive husband and pregnant with my now 14 year old son.Nicole Brown Simpson had been murdered. This sent a real chill down my spine.I can remember thinking, now her kids are left without a mother..But,I still remained in my abusive marriage for a little while longer. However,I did separate from him before my son was born.Of course this was not our first seperation.....ya,know the victim most always goes back to her abuser..You know the drill...'I'M Sorry' it won't happen again...Anyway on to Clue #3 CONTROLLING BEHAVIOR...The abuser wants to know your every move...if you arrive home late from an appointment or work, the abuser will become angry and accuse you of seeing someone else. The abuser at this point is very irrational.Trying to defend your actions or trying to reason with the abuser at this point can be very exhausting, to say the least. The abuser will want to control everything from what you wear,to where you go, to whom you talk too.Are you starting to wake up?Well,THERE'S EVEN MORE...AND IT GETS MORE SERIOUS AS WE GO ALONG...

SWEET DREAMS-THREE'S A CROWD

I can remember having the very misguided feeling of being special and ooh so loved, because my husband was so insanely jealous.I was foolish and naive enough to think that this was cute.I was 17,the first time I got married...of course,it was against my adopted parents better judgement. But,you already know...that of course, I did not listen to them.So many women feel unrealistically flattered by the potential abusers jealousy.WAKE UP! You are headed in a DANGER ZONE! I must also mention that,I have suffered from depression my whole life..So,of course this added to my insecurities and acceptance of allowing myself to be a victim time and time again for years..I must say when my 21 yr. old daughter started dating her soon to be abuser..I could do something that,I could not do each time I met one of my future abusers..It was if I had some kind of a built in radar..something that I did not have concerning my abusive relationships. He may as well have been wearing a label because I could see right through him.He absolutely, terrified me.I tried over and over again to warn my daughter to no avail. She stayed in the relationship.I could tell exactly when she was starting to see the REAL person that she too quickly became involved with..Which brings me to #2)QUICK INVOLVEMENT! That Worldwind Wanna Be Romance. The potential abuser comes on strong "You are the only one for me" or "you are the only person that I can trust or talk to"..Many abusers propose in less than six months.Potential abusers will often put pressure on their victims for commitment...to the point that the victim may feel guilty if they want to slow down the relationship. This is yet another important clue..PAY ATTENTION! If these two very important clues are not enough Believe me THERE ARE MORE!

MY SECOND SWEET DREAMS ENTRY

Sunday, July 5, 2009 Sweet Dreams Too First,I would like to say the feelings of hopelessness and just sheer low self esteem can cause a woman to feel so worthless, that she feels somehow it is her fault that her partner is abusive to her. These feelings are Totally Untrue. Please,Please do not listen to these negative feelings. If you have a trusted family member or friend..Please confide in them and let them be a strong source of support. You CAN NOT CHANGE HIM! You are waisting valuable time,if you try.I know that I felt for years, like it was my fault..I thought 'It must be my fault,if I keep attracting these kinds of guys".If you do not have a friend or family member, talk to your family doctor. If this is not an option call 1-800-559-safe.I know that a lot of women stay in the relationship because of finances and their children or both.Especially today,in these hard economic times. It can be difficult. But,your life is priceless..just remember that.If you have young children, they desperately need you.For those of you that would like to know what to look for, as far as WARNING SIGNS..TO VIOLENT ABUSIVE BEHAVIOR..# 1)EXTREME JEALOUSY! He will tell you especially in the beginning of your relationship, that his jealousy is because he loves you so much..you are the best thing that has ever happened to him.He doesn't want lose you.WATCH OUT!

SWEET DREAMS (The beginning of this blog)

This blog is dedicated to women survivors of domestic violence.I was a victim of domestic violence for years. It is behind me now but,it recently touched my 21 year old daughter's life. All of the signs were there and I saw them and I desperately tried to warn her about them. But,of course she would not listen to me.Her ex-boyfriend recently set our house on fire as we were sleeping. The Lord awoke my daughter in time for her to alert us all(my husband & my two teenaged sons)we were able to escape without harm and our house was not very badly damaged.I have since installed a home security system. We all are still terrified because he was never arrested for the aggravated arson. The police did not have prove that he did it.Even though he posted a photo of himself, posing with a lighter burning,on a social network. My daughter has a 2yr. protection order against him.He violated it with telephone calls,he was arrested for this and he does have to go to court for it.In my blog I will list telltale signs of a potentially abusive person.I hope that I can help someone out there avoid becoming a victim of domestic violence.

MANHUNT IN PEORIA (published ALLVOICES) by me win59

On Tuesday Morning November 16th,my husband and I awoke to the startling news of two inmates escaping from the Peoria County Jail sometime between Monday 8:00pm and Tuesday 6:30am. James Fuller 44 and Aaron Cook 28 had managed to escape from the roof. The two had tied sheets together to lower themselves from the rooftop of the jail.(it was like something out of a movie) Fuller had been digging his escape thru the roof for well over a year.Aaron Cook had been in jail since March for breaking the arm of a 3 year old girl.James Fuller an unemployed felon, already convicted of armed robbery and rape was accused of attacking the same woman twice(I & my husband remember reading about the attack in our local newspaper)He is described as a very scary character.Police warned the public that Fuller is to be CONSIDERED DANGEROUS.But,what really made this very scary for me personally, was the fact that he was tracked down to the very neighborhood in which I live.Aaron Cook was captured several hours after the two escaped. He was found hiding in the basement of a residence and two people were arrested for obstructing justice. But,Fuller was still at large.Just blocks away,Fuller broke into a resident's home, tied him up and robbed him, taking a vehicle and a cell phone.Around 7:00 pm he reportedly left the stolen vehicle in a High School parking lot(he was in my area now). The police tracked the cell phone to an area that is like 2 blocks from my house! I was a paranoid mess and I can imagine the fear his victims must have felt upon the news of his escape. He was out there somewhere the entire night.Police finally captured him in a vacant house, where he reportedly surrendered without a struggle(he had left my area). It is reported that Serial Rapist James Fuller 6'3 and 225 lbs. was a patient at Zellers Mental Health Center(now closed down) 20 years ago, when he overpowered a worker and escaped(he was 24 yrs. old) he was at large for 5 days.He was a sixteen year old basketball star when he was first charged with rape,it is reported. But,thanks to the Peoria Police Department and local authority's James Fuller Serial Rapist and Man Of Terror is back behind bars!
