MURDERER TO BE EXECUTED ON WEDNESDAY
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A federal judge has refused to stop the execution of a man sentenced to death row for a triple murder during a Nashville robbery.
U.S. District Court Judge Robert L. Echols heard arguments Monday in the case of 53-year-old Cecil C. Johnson Jr. who was sentenced to death in 1981. He is set to be executed by lethal injection early Wednesday.
A jury convicted Johnson in the murders of three people - including a 12-year-old boy, during a robbery at Bob Bell's Market in Nashville. He spent the past 29 years on death row.
One juror who convicted Johnson expected delays, but nothing this long. The juror, who asked not to be identified, said, "The guy shot the kid in the store. I thought it was just going to take 10 years, but 30 years is mind-boggling."
Johnson's attorneys said their client suffers from "Death Row Phenomena" and endured "psychological torture" during his nearly three decades on death row. They said misconduct by prosecutors dragged out the case for years. http://www.newschannel5.com/
Johnson's attorneys said to execute him now would amount to "cruel and unusual punishment."
Prosecutors said Johnson's appeal has little merit and he's simply trying to stay alive.
Johnson's appeal goes to the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati.

16 YEAR OLD GIRL ATTACKED WITH A BASEBALL BAT AND STABBED
Teen girl gravely injured in Far South Side attack (UPDATED STORY)
A 16-year-old Far South Side girl authorities said was attacked by baseball bat and knife-wielding females as she sat in her sister's parked car Saturday afternoon is expected to survive a serious stab wound to her back.
Andrea Thomas, 16, was saved by surgeons at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn after being stabbed in the back on the 10200 block of South Carpenter Street about 2:30 p.m., a Chicago police source said.
Family members said Thomas was with her older sister, Teresa, two blocks from home in a Chevrolet Malibu, when she was attacked in a dispute stemming from a prior romantic relationship of her sister's.
"It didn't have anything to do with her," said Thomas' uncle, Samuel Philson. "She never had trouble with anybody and we don't know why they'd stab her."
Three females, one of them a woman in her 20s, smashed the parked car with baseball bats, the police source said. When Thomas, who attends Carver Military Academy, got out of the car to confront them, she was beaten and stabbed in the back, the source said. One of the females was in police custody, the source added.
Detectives searched for evidence around the battered Malibu, which had a shattered windshield and rear window.
Philson said the stab wound cut one of Thomas's arteries.
Ricky Thomas, 17, said his sister is a good student who loves basketball and dances in a crew called "Paranoia."
"They say she's gonna make it," he said, "I was real scared she wouldn't." http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/

MAN CAUSES EX-GIRLFRIEND TO LOSE SIGHT IN RIGHT EYE (this is very gruesome)
CINCINNATI -- Police arrested a man accused of causing a woman to lose her eye during a fight early Thursday at a downtown restaurant.
Mark Teremi More
Officers said Mark Teremi threw a cocktail glass at his ex-girlfriend during an altercation around 1:50 a.m. at Bootsy's, and the glass shattered, causing serious facial injuries and seriously injuring one of her eyeballs.
A witness said the woman, identified as Erin Callen, initially believed she had a bloody nose and went into a restroom, where she discovered the injury to her right eye.
The glass also injured her right eyelid and the bridge of her nose.
A police officer told News 5 he had never seen anything like what happened despite many years on the force.
Callen's father told News 5 that his daughter had permanently lost sight in the injured eye, and she would undergo emergency surgery to remove the injured eyeball in hopes of saving it and preventing damage to the sight in her other eye.
Raw Video: Teremi Makes Court Appearance
The 27-year-old Teremi was charged with felonious assault and taken into police custody, where he remains on $250,000 bond.http://www.wlwt.com

MAN CHASES HIS WIFE AND TWO YOUNG SONS
A man chased his wife and two young sons down a Paterson, N.J., street Saturday, shooting them and killing one of the boys before he was fatally shot by an off-duty cop, police and witnesses said.
The gunfire erupted about 9a.m. when Edelmiro Gonzalez, 54, approached his wife, Johanna Gonzalez, 31 - whom he had been separated from for three years - at her mother's home, where she had just dropped off their kids, said Paterson Police Detective Ron Humphrey, according to The Record of Bergen County.
The father shot their 7-year-old son, Adrian, and chased his other son, Edryn, 11, down the driveway and shot him in the neck, Humphrey said.
After shooting the boys, Gonzalez turned to his wife and chased her down Madison St., where he shot her once in the shoulder, said Humphrey.
An off-duty officer, Lt. Washington Griffin, was picking up breakfast with his own young son at a nearby McDonald's drive-thru when he heard "multiple shots" and confronted Gonzalez, police and witnesses said.
Griffin identified himself as an officer and told Gonzalez to put down the gun, cops and witnesses said.
"He told him to stop," Will Hayes told The Record. "The guy didn't, and that's when he shot him."
Griffin fired twice, hitting Gonzalez in the head and in his right leg, Humphrey said.
Cops found two pistols on Gonzalez, a .45 and a smaller caliber gun, Humphrey said.
Gonzalez was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead, police said.
His wife and his older son, Edryn, were hospitalized in critical condition. Adrian was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Some neighbors who witnessed the grisly shooting rushed to help.
Michael Espinosa and his wife, Loretta, heard the shots and saw one boy facedown on the pavement and the other boy with blood gushing from his neck, the couple said.
"When we saw the two children, we weren't ready for that," Michael Espinosa told The Record.
The couple ran toward the wounded children with paper towels, putting pressure on the older brother's neck wound, Espinosa said.
"Not the kids," Espinosa said. "I'll never get over the kids.

WOMAN ON TRIAL FOR KILLING FORMER LOVER'S PREGNANT FIANCE
Canton, MS (WLBT) - The murder trial for Carla Hughes resumes Tuesday morning. That's when the prosecution will call their star witness, the murder victim's fiance and the accused's former lover, Keyon Pittman.
The first day of the trial concluded after five hours of testimony. "I don't think we're that strong. I don't want to know exactly what happened to my daughter," said Avis Banks' father Frederick Banks.
Banks and other family members left the courtroom as a pathologist described her brutal murder. "I identified a total of four gunshot wounds, three of which were fatal. In addition, there were three stab wounds and one slash wound," said Dr. Steven Hayne.
Madison County District Attorney Michael Guest called on six people to testify Monday including a neighbor who lived right next door to the house Banks and her fiance Keyon Pittman shared. She made the 911 call to Ridgeland Police that night of November 29th, 2006.
"It was Keyon, and he was in the cul-de-sac and was saying someone killed Avis, and I was relaying that back to the 911 operator," said the neighbor Sabrina Coleman.
Prosecuters used cell phone records to try to prove Carla Hughes was near Banks' Ridgeland home at the time of the murder. A Cellular South engineer testified she was within a two-mile radius of the house, but the defense was quick to point out that this evidence does not place Hughes at the crime scene.
"You can't tell us a call was made from Avis Banks' home, can you?" asked Hughes' attorney Johnnie Walls. "No," said Cellular South engineer Mark Winstead.
Hughes faces two counts of murder for Banks and her unborn son. Banks was five months pregnant with Pittman's child. If convicted Hughes could face the death penalty. Banks' family only wants closure.
"We'll get justice, finally," said Frederick Banks.

A Northwest Side man who struggled with a police officer trying to arrest him on a domestic battery charge this morning faces a felony resisting arrest charge, authorities said.
Daniel Gromoske, 44, of the 3800 block of North Albany Avenue, was arrested after an Albany Park District officer responded to a report of a dispute at Gromoske's home, according to a police incident release.
When the officer arrived at the home, Gromoske's 46-year-old girlfriend said Gromoske had pushed and threatened her, although she was not injured, according to the release. Gromoske ignored the officer's demands and struggled with the officer to thwart the arrest, police said.

ONE OF THE WORST FORMS OF ABUSE (Hooker's baby found dead)
A bust of a sex trafficking ring in Brooklyn led to a ghastly find - an enslaved hooker's baby entombed in concrete.
Feds and cops raided a Sunset Park flophouse late Tuesday and arrested the brothel's ringleaders and found a 10-gallon Rubbermaid container filled with cement.
X-rays revealed the body of a two-month-old boy sealed inside, officials said.
Domingo Salazar, 33, and Norma Mendez, 32, appeared in Brooklyn Federal Court last night on sex trafficking charges and could face additional counts, law enforcement sources said.
The couple, illegal immigrants from Mexico, forced a young woman into prostitution, viciously abused her and barred her from getting medical care for the infant when he fell ill last January, investigators said.
When the baby died, Salazar and Mendez allegedly forced the mom to dispose of the body in the container, which sat in the 40th St. apartment until yesterday.
"It's horrific," said Carmen Burgos, 45. who works nearby. "I can't have kids and I can't believe they did this to a baby. They couldn't be in their right minds."
The duo launched the prostitution ring out of their 40th St. apartment in April 2007, according to a federal affidavit.
Two months earlier, Salazar met the young woman in Mexico, got her pregnant, and smuggled her into the United States - telling her galpal Mendez was his sister, sources said.
She gave birth to Salazar's son soon after arriving in New York in November 2007, officials said. He still insisted she repay the $2,500 smuggling fee.

NANNY ADMITS TO BEATING 3 YEAR OLD TO DEATH
A Brooklyn woman said Tuesday she "just snapped" and blindly beat to death a 3-year-old with a brush because he wouldn't go to sleep.
Nymeen Cheatham avoided a possible life sentence by pleading guilty to manslaughter in the June 6, 2007, death of Kyle Smith, who was in her care.
The boy's father, grandmother and aunt listened incredulously as Cheatham tried to portray her brutality as a moment of insanity.
"I lost it," she said in Brooklyn Supreme Court.
"I started to spank him and it was dark and I didn't see exactly where I was hitting him or how I was hitting him.
"It was dark and I was just spanking him and I got a brush and I started to spank him again. He finally quieted down."
The boy was declared dead the next day after Cheatham called for help.
Prosecutors alleged Kyle was sodomized, doused with cold water and forced to do pushups. Bruises and cuts were testament to a horribly slow and painful death, his family said.
"I definitely wanted to hear her admit she did it, even though it was not all the truth," said Kyle's father, Elliot Smith, who believes Cheatham was trying to cover for her boyfriend, Lemar Martin.

MAN SHOT IN APARTMENT,MOM HIDES UNDER BED
Three men were killed and one wounded during a spate of gun violence beginning Monday night.
Police haven't made an arrest in any of the cases which popped off in the Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens.
About 9 p.m. Monday, cops found a naked man inside his Bronx living room. Christopher Downer, 32, had been shot in the head. Police said someone stole his jewelry. Minutes before he was shot,
Downer was captured on surveillance video talking to a group of people in his lobby.
Downer's mother, Joyce Daniels, 52, said she thinks the killer followed him to the East Tremont home after she sent him to a store to get Benadryl. Daniels said she crawled under the bed at the sound of gunfire.
"I was inside my room watching my TV," Daniels said. "And then I just hear 'Mommy!' Boom! Boom! When I heard the two gunshots I went underneath my bed."
Daniels, terrified she would be shot if she came out from underneath her bed, called her aunt on her cellphone and whispered to call the police.
She didn't come out until cops came to the apartment.
"All I could see is the blood," Daniels said. "I just seen him in no clothes."
Downer had a pregnant girlfriend and was taking classes at Lehman College, relatives said.
"He's very nice, sweet, friendly with everybody," said Downer's sister, Nicole Lauder, 27, a stay-at-home mom. "He's not a trouble maker. He's not a fighter."
A short time later, at 10:25 p.m. a 24-year-old man was shot dead in Cambria Heights. The dead man was identified by a friend as Dane Buckles, of Rosedale.
About three hours later, at 1:42 a.m., two men were shot in front of Monique's Affaire, a Church Avenue bar in East Flatbush. One of the men, 25, was killed, while the other man, 23, was shot in the shoulder and was in stable condition Tuesday.

BABY LEFT IN CAR,MOM SAYS SHE AND BABY'S DADDY FORGOT THE BABY WAS IN THE CAR(YES,THIS IS DUMB)
Child endangerment
Crystal S. Jordan, 22, of 552 N. Union Ave., Kankakee, was arrested at about 3:15 p.m. Tuesday in the parking lot at Tyson Foods, 1125 Sycamore Road, Manteno, and charged with endangering the life or health of a child after her 10-month-old son was found by a co-worker in a locked car in the parking lot, Kankakee County sheriff's reports said.
Also charged was Leo Barker, 50, of 552 N. Union Ave., Kankakee. He was arrested at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, also in the Tyson Foods parking lot, and charged with endangering the life or health of a child.
The infant was discovered by a man who heard a baby crying at about 3 p.m. and traced it to a car parked near a fence on the south side of the lot. The baby was in Barker's locked car in the lot, sheriff's reports said.
Jordan told police that Barker is her boyfriend and the baby's father, and that they arrived to work just before 2 p.m. Tuesday and forgot their son was in the back, sheriff's reports said. Barker said he wasn't the boy's father and didn't know he was in the back of the car, sheriff's reports said.
The infant was taken to Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee for evaluation, and an investigator with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services told police that the boy would be released to a baby-sitter, sheriff's reports said. http://www.dailyjournal.com

MAN BLAMES HIS ALTER EGO FOR MURDER OF HIS WIFE AND SON
A Queens dad with a split personality was busted Saturday for slitting the throats of his wife and 14-year-old son - and then blaming the horrific crime on his alter ego, cops said.
"Otto does not do these things, but Robert does," Otto Herrarte, 48, a cleaner at the Helmsley Hotel in Manhattan, told investigators, a source said.
"Otto did not do it. Robert did it."
The twisted confession came hours after cops found the bodies of Herrarte's wife, Edna, 55, and son Daniel, stuffed in a closet inside their Corona home.
Investigators believe Herrarte slaughtered his family members Friday night.
When the maniacal male housekeeper's other son, David, 15, returned home that night and asked about the whereabouts of his mom and brother, Herrarte concocted an elaborate lie.
"He said they had been in a car accident and wouldn't be coming home," NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said. "The son was unaware the bodies were in the apartment," wrapped in black plastic bags.
The next morning, Herrarte called a female co-worker he was dating and asked her to join him as he brought David to the home of a sister-in-law, sources said.
Once inside the home, Herrarte delivered an ominous message to his boy.
"This is going to be your new mother," Herrarte said, according to relatives.
After Herrarte and his mistress returned to the apartment, she learned what he did and dialed 911, cops said.
Herrarte, who was charged with two counts of murder, quickly confessed to the crime, cops said. He told detectives "he killed his wife and son by slashing their throats, and then hid their bodies in the closet overnight," Browne said.
Edna Herrarte's loved ones said her husband ruled the home with an iron fist.
"My sister-in-law was like a slave, physically and mentally," Jose Pur, 64, said. "Whatever he wants to do, she didn't say nothing."
Pur said Otto Herrarte became especially abusive after he started dating his paramour.
"He used to be [a] nice, nice guy, but he changed since starting to go out with this woman," Pur said. "For me, it's horrible ... [Edna] was a wonderful woman. She loved the kids, and she wanted the best for them."
The gruesome slaying left Otto Herrarte's co-workers at the Helmsley stunned.
"He's a good worker," cleaner Maria Urqui, 54, said. "He never talked about his marriage, but he always said his wife is a very sick lady. My hair is standing on end."

EARLY SUNDAY MORNING NEWS-MAN FOUND SHOT IN HIS CAR IN PEORIA
PEORIA — .A 23-year-old factory worker died Saturday from a gunshot wound, the 13th homicide in Peoria this year.
Peoria police found Brandon DeShaun Grant of 1810 N. Stever Ave. about 6:45 a.m. in a car in a parking lot outside Apartment 14 at Pierson Hills Apartment Complex, 1819 N. Lehman Road. Suffering from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen, Grant was taken to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, where at 7:30 a.m. he was pronounced dead.
"He was just a sweet, quiet kid," said one of Grant's grandmothers, Charlene Lyons of Peoria.
Known as "Shaun" to family and friends, he graduated from Peoria High School and underwent some training at Lincoln Technical Institute in Indianapolis, she said.
Shannon Wood, 22, of Peoria is the mother of Grant's three children - a 2-year-old and 8-month-old twins.
"We used to work at the Kroger on (Harman Highway)," Wood said in explaining how she and Grant met.
An autopsy determined the gunshot wound caused Grant's death, Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll said. She also said police are investigating whether Grant was shot in the vehicle or shot somewhere else and brought to it.
Police said they have identified someone in connection with the homicide, but the investigation is ongoing. http://www.pjstar.com

WOMAN FOUND STRANGLED TO DEATH (possibly by abusive boyfriend)
A woman whose body was found at an Eastside home was strangled to death, police said Friday.
Sgt. Paul Thompson, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department spokesman, said Deneisha Watford, 28, was found about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday on the floor of a home in the 1800 block of Bauer Road.
Police on Friday questioned Watford's boyfriend, Robert Sarver, in connection with her death.
Officers have not charged Sarver in Watford's death, but Thompson said detectives arrested him Friday in connection with domestic battery allegations involving another woman on the Eastside two weeks ago.
Sarver faces preliminary charges of strangulation, criminal confinement, domestic battery, battery and being a serious violent felon in possession of a firearm, Thompson said.
Police say Sarver, 32, attacked Tiesha Williams, 35, at a home in the 2100 block of North Catherwood Avenue. http://www.indystar.com

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!
Today was a quite day for a change.I'm not complaining at all, believe me.My husband and I are up trying to unwind.I kind of took a break from reading all of the horrible news articles.I completed numerous surveys and entered sweepstakes, did the laundry and some household chores.I made a nice piece of change with my surveys. There were plenty available today. My oldest son has written two letters to me within the past couple of weeks. He is currently serving time.He is a good kid but,he has gotten himself into trouble unfortunately. He likes to make money in the fast lane. It's such a helpless feeling when you can't save your kids from making life altering mistakes. All you can do is watch from the side lines and pray to God.I had wanted him to move here with us but,Peoria is so crazy now.I don't know......I'm already a paranoid mess,I'm scared to death my 22 yr. old daughter will fall under some nutcases spell again. And I'm worried about my two teenaged sons.I'm just a paranoid mess, that's all.Everyone have a great and safe weekend!........

FATHER OF BOY WHO ACCUSED MJ OF MOLESTATION BLOWS BRAINS OUT!
The father of a boy who accused Michael Jackson of molestation in 1993 blew out his brains in his luxury New Jersey apartment, cops said Tuesday.
Evan Chandler, 65, whose son received a multimillion-dollar settlement from the King of Pop, was discovered in his 16th- floor waterfront pad in Jersey City with his gun still in his hand.
Chandler took his own life Nov. 5, Jersey City police spokesman Stan Eason said. The concierge of Chandler's building found the body.
"He [Chandler] was on his bed still holding the weapon with a single gunshot wound to the head," Eason said. "It's straightforward. Case closed. It's suicide."
Chandler had been extremely ill and was scheduled to see a hematologist on the day he committed suicide, Eason said.
When Chandler didn't show up for the medical appointment, his doctor called the concierge to go check on him, Eason said.
"There was medication found in [Chandler's apartment] consistent with a serious illness," Eason said.
He said Chandler did not leave a suicide note.

ILLINOIS GOV.PAT QUINN SIGNS BILL-SCHOOL BUS DRIVER'S NOW REQUIRED TO CHECK THEIR BUS!
New law tells bus drivers to check for kids at end of trip
Illinois school bus drivers are now required to conduct inspections of their vehicles at the end of each trip to make sure children aren't left on board after Gov. Pat Quinn signed a bill into law today.
The new law also requires bus owners to install two-way radios on all buses so drivers can communicate with safety officials in the event of an emergency. State law previously did not require buses to be equipped with two-way radios, though many already were.

The body of missing 5-year-old Shaniya Davis has been found near Sanford, North Carolina, police say. FULL STORY---http://www.cnn.com
Little girl's body found......
According to reports on CNN, the police have discovered the body of the missing 5 year old girl (Shaniya Davis). I was hoping for a miracle, that she would be found alive & well. This kind of news, really does SUCK!
Police are searching for missing 5 yr. old girls body
(this story is heartbreakingly UNBELIEVABLE,how could a mother be capable of abusing her5 yr. old baby daughter like this? I just can't comprehend this kind of behavior in a mother)Authorities searched along a highway Monday for the body of a missing 5-year-old girl they had previously said they hoped to find alive.
Shaniya Davis has been missing since last Tuesday. Her mother, who reported her gone, is accused of offering her for prostitution, according to court documents and police.
About 200 searchers fanned across several miles southeast of Sanford on Monday based on "reliable information" that her body may have been dumped there, said Fayetteville Police spokeswoman Theresa Chance. Some walked along roads, ravines and fields while others drove on four-wheelers.
Shaniya's mother, Antoinette Davis, 25, has been charged with human trafficking and felony child abuse, police said. Police also filed kidnapping charges against 29-year old Mario Andrette McNeill, who was seen in surveillance footage carrying Shaniya at a Sanford hotel.
Authorities have said McNeill admitted taking the girl, though his attorney said he will plead not guilty to the charge. Police have not said if McNeill and Davis knew each other.
Davis was scheduled to make a first appearance in court Monday afternoon and police said she did not yet have an attorney.
Shaniya's father, Bradley Lockhart, said he raised his daughter for several years but last month decided to let her stay with her mother. He has pleaded for her safe return.
"I should've never let her go over there," he told The Associated Press on Saturday.
He said on CBS's "The Early Show" Monday that he remained hopeful someone would bring his daughter somewhere safe, such as a police station or hospital.
"They can drop her off at Walmart, I don't care," he said.

MAN JUMPS OFF MOTEL BALCONY DAYS AFTER BEATING HIS GIRLFRIEND TO DEATH!
KNOXVILLE - A out-of-town murder suspect jumped to his death tonight from a West Knoxville motel balcony with officers and U.S. marshals at his heels, authorities said.
"He committed suicide and cheated the state out of prosecuting him," Knoxville Police Department Lt. Mark Pressley said.
Metro Nashville police had been searching for Billy Troope, 50, since the beating death apparently Monday night of his ex-girlfriend, The Tennessean newspaper reported.
A friend reported Wendy Sue McKinney missing on Tuesday. A housekeeper found Wendy Sue McKinney's body in the bathroom of a third-floor room at a Hampton Inn in Bellevue. She'd been beaten to death.
Surveillance video taken from the hotel showed McKinney entering the hotel with Troope shortly before 8 p.m. Monday, according to The Tennessean.
KPD officers began tracking Troope in West Knoxville early this evening. According to Metro Nashville police, he was a golf caddy by profession.
"His cell phone started pinging around West Town Mall at about 6 p.m.," Pressley said. "Two of our guys canvassed the area and found his car at the Ramada across the street at the corner of Kingston Pike and Montvue Road."
Officers contacted Nashville authorities and the U.S. Marshals Service, then closed in on the motel with a fugitive warrant around 10:30 p.m., police said.
"They went to enter his room and the suspect jumped up, ran out and dived off the balcony to the pavement," Pressley said. http://www.knoxnews.com

I HAD A GREAT DAY!
Overall, I had a fabulous day today! My 27 year old son called me,he lives back in my hometown. It's been almost a year since I last spoke with him. This was a very pleasant surprise.I rarely get pleasant surprises.Unwanted surprises are usually what I get.He really made my day! We talked for well over an hour.Anyway,up until his phone call I was busy cooking & cleaning and doing laundry. So,now I have to see what's happening in the news.My husband told me earlier, that there was another shooting in our old neighborhood. I really wish there were more good news than bad....
Well, it didn't take me long to locate some info on the missing 5 yr. old little girl, she is such a beautiful child,I pray that she's found alive, well
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — The location and fate of a 5-year-old girl reported missing by her mother was unknown even after authorities charged the mother with human trafficking and other offenses.
Antoinette Nicole Davis, the mother of Shaniya Davis, faces a child abuse charge involving prostitution as well as filing a false police report, according to a Saturday news release from the Fayetteville Police Department.
The child hasn't been seen since Tuesday, when surveillance footage recorded the man charged with kidnapping Shaniya carrying her into a hotel room.
The release did not say whether the charges were related to her daughter's disappearance, but The Fayetteville Observer reported that arrest records indicated they were.
According to arrest documents cited by the newspaper, Davis "knowingly provide(d) Shaniya Davis with the intent that she be held in sexual servitude" and she "permit(ted) an act of prostitution."
Telephone messages and an e-mail left for police were not returned.
Shaniya had been living with her mother since last month. Davis reported the girl missing Tuesday morning from a mobile home community in Fayetteville, and authorities began searching nearby wooded areas. The following day a man described as Davis' boyfriend was charged in the kidnapping, but the charges were later dropped and he was released.
Police then said a hotel worker spotted a child matching Shaniya's description at a Sanford hotel about 40 miles from Fayetteville on Tuesday. Authorities reviewed surveillance video and, after speaking with family members, confirmed the child's identity.
Surveillance footage showed Mario Andrette McNeill carrying Shaniya into a hotel room, and he was arrested and charged with kidnapping Friday.
Authorities have said McNeill admitted taking the girl, though his attorney says he will plead not guilty to the charge. They have not said whether McNeill and Davis knew each other.

As you already know,I don't sleep very well at night anyway.I will just never be the same,I'm trying to accept that.I know that my 22 yr. old daughter's abuser is still in jail but,I just can't get my normal routine back to the way it was, before he set our house on fire.Nights are very frightening for me.I can hear every creepy sound as I lye in bed trying to fall asleep.I no longer do laundry late at night, because our laundry room is in the basement. When my daughter's abuser set our house on fire,he first tried to break into our basement. His intentions were to set the fire in the basement. But,he could not gain entry. So now,I do the laundry during the daylight hours ONLY. I use to do laundry at anytime.I was never uncomfortable before this horrible incident.I am afraid for my daughter,I hope that this nutcase no longer wants to harm her.And I also hope & pray that she never ever experiences another abusive relationship.I pray for her to have insight and wisdom in future relationships.Goodnight to all and please be safe.I'm going to kick it with my husband and try to get some sleep.............

ANOTHER TEEN TARGETED IN PEORIA(another teen shot in the back)
I'm relieved at least, that this teen is still alive. For the past three weekends teens have been getting shot to death or being found dead in a basement here in Peoria. This was not a bad place to live ,when I moved here 10 years ago. But,now it is a pretty scary place to raise your children in..........(this happened near our old neighborhood, from which we moved several months ago)PEORIA — .A 17-year-old male was shot in the back late Friday near the intersection of Linn Street and Richmond Avenue, police said.
Police were called to the area about 11:20 p.m. and found the teen with the gunshot wound lying in the yard at 1627 N. Linn St. The teen, who was conscious when police arrived, was transported to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.
His injuries were serious but not life threatening, according to police. A nearby house and vehicle also were struck by bullets.

ABUSIVE MAN CHOKES GIRLFRIEND INTO SEIZURES (this abuser totally lost control)
A South Side man was ordered held without bail today after his ex-girlfriend was choked until she lapsed into seizures this week.
Zachary McCraney, 30, faces attempted murder and domestic battery charges in the attack Wednesday night. McCraney approached the woman outside her home in the 9300 block of South Woodlawn Avenue at 10:30 p.m., according to assistant State's Attorney Crista Peterson.
He asked to see her cell phone to check if she was dating other men, Peterson said in a hearing before Cook County Criminal Court Judge Adam Bourgeois today.
When the woman refused, McCraney choked her until she lost consciousness, Peterson said. She eventually regained consciousness and ran away, Peterson said. McCraney then chased her down and allegedly choked her again until she lost consciousness and started having seizures, Peterson said.
The woman survived but prosecutors did not have an updated condition for her this afternoon. McCraney is a convicted felon and admitted to police that he strangled the woman, Peterson said.
McCraney is due in court next on Nov. 18http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com

AFTER-DARK VISITOR NEXT DOOR RAISES NEIGHBOR'S SUSPICIONS
Abigail Van Buren
DEAR ABBY: My neighbors, "John" and "Marcia," are such a nice couple, I'm not sure what to do. I don't know them all that well, but what's going on is extremely upsetting.
On several occasions, I have seen a woman park her car near my home after dark and walk to the back door of their house. About an hour later, I see John let her out the front door. He even has the nerve to kiss her goodbye right on the front porch! I'm sure he is slipping this tart in for sex -- right under his wife's nose.
I want to tell Marcia what's going on, but I'm unsure how to go about it. I have contemplated just going over, knocking on the door and blurting it out. I have also considered writing her an anonymous letter. What's the right way to let someone know that her husband is cheating on her in her own house while she's there? -- NOT NOSY, JUST CONCERNED, NEW CUMBERLAND, PA.
DEAR NOT NOSY: I strongly recommend that you mind your own business and do nothing. If there was any hanky-panky going on, I seriously doubt that John would be indulging in it while his wife was in the house -- and kissing his illicit lover goodbye on their doorstep, yet. The woman may be a relative -- a sister, cousin or daughter -- so please do not embarrass yourself.

I found this article interesting, because I've witnessed menopausal systems in men and wondered How is this possible?
I am 56 years old. After I turned 50, I developed symptoms that I've been fighting ever since — anger, fear, self-doubt, taking things too personally, and fear of trying new things. I've been diagnosed with depression, but could it be male menopause? Is there such a thing? If so, what are the symptoms?
— Henry, California
A:
There is a lot of controversy about whether men go through significant hormonal changes in midlife, and whether such changes might have an effect on mood and emotions. One thing is clear: The changes in men are not as dramatic as those seen in women, who undergo a substantial decline in estrogen and other hormones and then go through a perimenopausal and menopausal state.
In contrast, any reduction of hormone levels in men tends to be gradual and modest, unless specific health problems or medications are interfering with the male hormone testosterone. For example, low testosterone levels can sometimes be linked to obesity, especially abdominal obesity, and diabetes. Could these be possible causes of your mood changes and depression? It could also be that your symptoms are more situational — maybe you're concerned about your health, family, aging, or other changes in your life. It's also possible that your symptoms are related to the depression itself.
These are probably much more likely explanations for your symptoms than a change in hormone levels. Also, there's no evidence that in normal circumstances hormone changes in men (so-called male menopause) lead to symptoms like the ones you describe.
Consider talking to your doctor about whether your testosterone levels should be checked, and discuss whether any of the other possibilities mentioned above may be responsible for your symptoms.

FOLLOW-UP--Insects May Provide Clues In Serial Killers Home
Insects may provide clues for authorities investigating bodies found at an alleged serial killer's home in Cleveland.
Entomologist Joe Keiper was called by the Cuyahoga County Coroner's Office to study maggots on the bodies of 11 women found at Anthony Sowell's home. Keiper will observe the growth rate of the blow-fly larvae feeding off the corpses, which could help establish a time frame for the deaths, ABCNews.com reports.
"Blow flies pick up the gases omitted by bodies during decomposition at such a high speed that these insects are truly the first responders on a crime scene," said Keiper.
Keiper called Sowell's home "infested."
Authorities noticed an odor of rotting bodies when they went to the home to question Sowell about a reported rape in October, and soon found body after body in and around the home. Sowell, a 50-year-old convicted rapist, was charged with five counts of aggravated murder.
Ten of 11 bodies have been identified, the most recent on Wednesday night.
Sowell is being held without bond and is on suicide watch. If convicted, he could face the death penalty. He previously spent 15 years in prison for the choking and attempted rape of a 21-year-old woman in 1989

MISSING GIRLS KIDNAPPER ARRESTED(her Mom's boyfriend) THE LITTLE GIRL HAS NOT BEEN FOUND
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina police said they were searching Thursday for a 5-year-old girl who vanished two days ago and have charged one man with kidnapping her.
Clarence Coe, 30, was arrested and charged with first-degree kidnapping. He is scheduled to appear in court Thursday afternoon. Theresa Chance, a spokeswoman for the Fayetteville Police Department, said a witness spotted Coe taking the girl out of the trailer park.
"I think it's safe to say this is not a random occurrence," Chance said. Investigators are assuming that Shaniya is in danger.
Barbara Davenport, property manager at Sleepy Hollow Mobile Home Park where Shaniya was living, said Coe is the boyfriend of the girl's mother, Antoinette Davis, and has visited the trailer park several times.
Investigators have said police dogs did not pick up the child's scent during a search of the neighborhood. Shaniya was reported missing from her a mobile home park around 7 a.m. Tuesday, and her mother last saw the girl that day around 5:30 a.m.
"Our hopes are that she's close by," Chance said. READ MORE AT:http://www.dailynews.com

This poor woman saw her son falling, this is a very, very sad story....
The heartbroken Bronx mother of a suicidal Catholic school student actually witnessed his fatal fall - and has been inconsolable ever since.
Augustina Agyemang could barely speak after catching a glimpse of 13-year-old Juda tumbling through the air outside their Norwood apartment Monday.
"She went out onto the terrace when she didn't see him in the living room anymore," Mary Boakye, the boy's aunt, said. "She saw him falling midair. That's why she hasn't been able to talk much. She is in shock."
Augustina Agyemang had just greeted Juda at the door of their apartment on Mosholu Parkway and was cooking him dinner when he jumped from the 21st-story balcony about 5 p.m.
Juda's aunt said he told his mother minutes earlier that he was looking forward to basketball practice that night.
"We have no idea what happened," Boakye said.
In the hours before he leapt, the normally attentive eighth-grader was acting so strangely during an after-school program that staffers called his parents, then escorted him home early.
"He wasn't making much sense in what he was saying," Camp Interactive instructor Jesus Galvez said. "He was engaged and then disengaged."
Galvez said Juda couldn't focus enough to complete an assignment to create a blog on his great love - basketball.
"It wasn't his normal behavior," Galvez said. "It's not an easy thing to take in. One moment this kid is part of our program, and then this happens."
Juda's school, Our Lady of Angels on Claflin Ave., was awash in grief as counselors spent the day consoling classmates.
"We're doing a lot of prayers today," school pastor Thomas Lynch said. "It's just an amazing tragedy." http://www.nydailynews.com/

HUSBAND DEMANDS MORE THAN WORN-OUT WIFE CAN PROVIDE
Abigail Van Buren (ArcaMax Publishing)
DEAR ABBY: I am a 38-year-old business woman. I was single for many years until I met and fell in love with "Rory," who had been a long-time client. We were married a year ago.
Rory and I love each other, but we have a problem -- or, should I say, I have one. Rory has a penile implant and an insatiable sex drive. I can't keep up with him. He demands sex every night and sometimes a couple of times during the week at lunchtime.
I don't know what to do because above all I don't want to hurt my husband's feelings. Have you any advice for me? -- TOO MUCH OF A GOOD THING
DEAR TOO MUCH: Yes, you and your husband appear to have a communication problem, and the solution is to schedule some sessions with a marriage counselor. You are not the "one" with the problem. When a couple suffers from sexual problems, it's a problem shared by both parties.
I don't know how long Rory had erectile difficulties before he got his implant, but it appears he's using the device as a toy and doesn't understand the enjoyment must be mutual. And if it isn't mutual, you have the right to "just say no."

MAN KILLS ADOPTED MOTHER,HIS GIRLFRIEND & HER 4 YR. OLD DAUGHTER
CLEVELAND, Texas (AP) — Authorities called several times to check on a family's well-being in a rural Texas home eventually found the bodies of four people.
San Jacinto County investigators said Monday that 43-year-old Oliver Bills Jr. fatally shot his girlfriend, 27-year-old Shara Torres, her 4-year-old daughter, Sara Whitmire, and his adopted mother, 71-year-old Gloria Bills, before shooting himself Saturday.
Friends and relatives say Oliver Bills was off his medication, hallucinating and growing more violent. But no one was sent to the home north of Houston until 8 p.m.
Capt. Carl Jones said the initial non-emergency calls indicated Bills was sick but had no history of violence. Jones said his office had four squad cars Saturday and was swamped responding a major vehicle wreck. http://www.dallasnews.com

FOLLOW-UP (high school student found dead in basement) DRUGS & ALCOHOL MAY BE TO BLAME
PEORIA — .A 17-year-old youth may have been experimenting with drugs and drinking and that led to her death, the teen's mother speculated Monday.
An autopsy on Monday did not turn up an explanation for the death of Jordan L. Frase of 1717 N. Valley Ave. She was pronounced dead about 2 p.m. Sunday at 3007 N. Knoxville Ave., the home of friends.
Frase was found dead in the basement of the home rented by Kari Laughlin and also occupied by her two sons, ages 15 and 16.
Frase's mother, Sherri Smith, told the Journal Star she believes her daughter may have taken a Xanax pill while also drinking alcohol Saturday night. Smith said she based that theory on a text message sent by her daughter and on statements of other teens who were at the house.
"I think she may have tried to experiment and didn't know what she was doing," Smith said. "If she did, she wouldn't have known what she was taking."
Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll said toxicology testing, the results of which typically take one to two weeks to be processed, are likely to clarify why Frase died.
Ingersoll said no pills were found in Frase's stomach, but that could simply mean they had been absorbed by her body. Open containers of alcohol and energy drinks were found in the basement where Frase's body was discovered.
Mixing Xanax, an anti-anxiety medication, and alcohol can have deadly effects. Ingersoll said the mixture has the potential to cause a person to stop breathing and go into cardiac arrest.
Frase was a junior at Peoria High School, where she was involved in the Air Force ROTC.
"Good student, quiet," Peoria High Principal Randy Simmons said, describing Frase. "She really had a nice presence about her. She was in school daily and attended her classes. She was really well liked and just a nice girl. It's just a sad situation, tragic."
The high school began Monday with a moment of silence, and counselors were made available to students and teachers throughout the day. http://www.pjstar.com

MAN SENTENCED FOR THREATENING HARM TO DISABLED GIRL(Totally Disguisting)
Man sentenced for threatening to rape, kill disabled girl
A Chicago man was sentenced today to 2 1/2 years in prison for threatening to rape a 17-year-old disabled girl on a McHenry County street.
Marcus Sessom was convicted of threatening to rape and kill a 17-year-old girl with special needs if she did not enter into his vehicle, according to a press release from the McHenry County State's Attorney's Office.
Sessom approached the girl as she was walking along St. Johns Road in Woodstock after exiting her school bus, prosecutors said. The girl became frightened and ran away unharmed before alerting authorities.
McHenry County Judge Sharon Prather sentenced Sessom for his conviction on a charge of intimidation.
Sessom, in denying the charge, told Woodstock Police Officers that he talked to the girl because he was "driving down the street trying to pick up girls, because that is what he does," prosecutors said. http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com

Sessom, in denying the charge, told Woodstock Police Officers that he talked to the girl because he was "driving down the street trying to pick up girls, because that is what he does," prosecutors said. http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com
Mayor's niece once lived with Cleveland serial killer!
Cleveland, Ohio (CNN) -- The niece of the mayor of Cleveland, Ohio, once lived with murder suspect Anthony Sowell, a registered sex offender charged with murder after the remains of 11 victims were found at his home, a spokeswoman for the mayor said Monday.
Lori Frazier, niece of Mayor Frank Jackson, had a relationship with Sowell that ended two years ago, said Andrea Taylor, a spokeswoman for Jackson's office. Taylor said it is unclear whether the relationship was romantic.
"I just want to know why, why he would do this," Frazier told CNN affiliate WOIO on Friday. "He took care of me, good care of me. I never would have thought there were some bodies in the house."
"I lived with him from 2005 to 2007 and he didn't kill me, but he killed all these girls," she said.
Sowell, 50, is facing five counts of aggravated murder, rape, felonious assault and kidnapping in connection with the deaths. All the victims were African-American women. All that remains of one of them is a skull, wrapped in a paper bag and stuffed into a bucket in the basement.
Sowell served 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to attempted rape in 1989. He was released in 2005.
So far, nine of the 11 victims found at Sowell's home have been identified. The latest two were identified Monday by the Cuyahoga County Coroner's Office, police said. They are Janice Webb, 49, and Kim Yvette Smith, who was 43 when last seen. Both women were from Cleveland.
Webb was last seen on June 3 and was reported missing on August 2, police said. Smith was last seen January 1, but was not reported missing until November 2.
A grand jury on Monday returned an indictment against Sowell in connection with an alleged assault and rape of a 36-year-old woman September 22, Cuyahoga County prosecutors said in a news release. The investigation into that incident was what led police, armed with a search warrant, to Sowell's home, where they discovered the bodies late last month.
The alleged victim encountered Sowell while walking in the neighborhood, and he took her back to his home, where he became violent and raped her, prosecutors said. "While raping her, he strangled her with a cord until she lost consciousness," the statement said. "When she regained consciousness, he led her out of the house."
Sowell faces a charge of attempted murder in the incident, along with two counts of rape, two counts of kidnapping and two counts of felonious assault, authorities said.
Sowell will be arraigned on the new charges Friday, authorities said.
The charges are first-degree felonies except for the assault charges, which are second-degree felonies, prosecutors said. If convicted, he would face a sentence of up to life in prison.
The investigation into the homicides continues, prosecutor Bill Mason said in the news release.
"Upon completion of the investigation, the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office working with the Cleveland Police Department will present evidence to the grand jury seeking the death penalty for these heinous murders committed by Sowell."
Residents of the area near the home said they had noted a smell in the neighborhood, but assumed it was from nearby Ray's Sausage Company.
Asked whether she had noticed a foul odor, Frazier told WOIO, "Yeah, I smelled stuff, but he always told me that -- at first he said it was his stepmother downstairs. And then I guess after she left, he told me that it was Ray's Sausage."
Frazier said Sowell brought other women to the home when she was not there.
"I love my niece very much and while she has made some decisions that have not been in her best interest, she has my full support," Jackson said in a written statement.
"As a family, we are extremely fortunate that she was not a victim in this case as she did have a prior relationship with the suspect that ended approximately two years ago. My focus continues to be on making sure the loved ones of the victims get the attention, closure and justice they deserve and it is my hope that everyone remains committed to that goal."

WOMAN FOUND BURNED TO DEATH IN ALLEY(California)
Why are people running around setting human beings on fire? This is starting to be a regular occurance nowadays.... An unidentified woman was found burned beyond recognition in an alley just north of Carson, officials said today.
Fire officials were called to the alley in the 200 block of West 126th Street in an unincorporated county area near Compton and Carson at 6:52 p.m. on Saturday, said County Fire Inspector Matt Levesque.
The woman was dead when firefighters arrived. The incident appeared to be a homicide because an accelerant was used to start the fire, Levesque said. http://www.dailybreeze.com

Follow-up from my post last night(high school student found dead in basement)very,very,sad...
PEORIA — .A 17-year-old Peoria Central High School student was found dead in the basement of a house Sunday afternoon.
Jordan L. Frase, 17, of 1717 N. Valley Ave. was pronounced dead at 2 p.m. at 3007 N. Knoxville Ave. Police were called about 1:15 p.m. Sunday to the house, which is rented by Kari Laughlin and her two teenage sons, Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll said.
"The circumstances of her death are suspicious, and we continue to investigate," Ingersoll said.
It is not known why Frase was at the home, but authorities believe she came over sometime Saturday night.
Frase's mother, Sherri Smith, arrived at the house to pick Frase up just before the 911 call was made, according to Ingersoll. Laughlin had returned home from work in the morning, answered the door and searched the house for the girl before finding her in the basement.
"She was my angel," said Smith at her home Sunday evening before breaking down in tears.
She declined to talk further about the incident.
Laughlin told police she didn't know Frase was inside the house. Her sons, ages 15 and 16, were at home when the girl was found, Ingersoll said.
Frase reportedly had known the boys for the past few years. Smith also told authorities she talked with her daughter sometime late Saturday night and knew she was at the house on Knoxville Avenue.http://www.pjstar.com

18 YEAR OLD ESCAPES DAD'S INSANE STABBING ATTACK!
An 18-year-old Queens girl jumped from a second-floor window on Saturday to escape her father's murderous rage - moments before he stabbed her mother to death and killed himself, police and friends said.
Paul Johnson, 47, repeatedly plunged a knife into longtime partner Regina Alston's chest about 1:15p.m. in the Jamaica home they had shared for eight years, police said.
The couple had two teenage daughters, one of whom was home at the time of the attack and hurled herself out a window to escape, neighbors said.
"The kids were on the street screaming and crying and falling down," said a neighbor. "It was really sad."
After attacking Alston, Johnson stabbed and hanged himself, police said.
Alston, 47, was rushed to Jamaica Hospital, where she died.
"I'm hurt that he killed her," said landlord Helen Law, 84, who lived below the couple on Liverpool St. "I'm hurt that he killed himself."
Law said they were model tenants until a few months ago, when there was a fight and Johnson moved out.

Babysitter burned in fire sparked by child
A 25-year-old babysitter was burned and critically injured Saturday night when one of the children she was caring for set a fire in the city's Roseland neighborhood, fire officials said.
The woman, who received second-degree burns to 36 percent of her body, was rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, fire officials said.
The woman was sleeping in a second-floor bedroom at a building in the 10700 block of South Edbrooke Avenue at about 8:49 p.m. when a young boy playing with a lighter sparked the fire in the bedroom, fire spokesman Larry Langford said.
As the fire engulfed the room, the boy fled the room without telling the woman, but did tell his first-floor neighbors, who called 911, Langford said.
Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the blaze in the two-story building, although the blaze had spread to the attic.
The woman was babysitting several children at the home, but no other injuries were reported, Langford said.
The home did have smoke detectors, but none had batteries, he added. http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com

Trial set to begin in 1990s serial killing
The final jurors were picked Friday in the trial of a man charged with raping and killing 11 women during the 1990s in the Englewood and New City neighborhoods.
Andre Crawford, 47, is also on trial for the attempted murder and rape of a 12th woman.
If convicted, he could face the death penalty.
On Friday the final three jurors along with six alternates were picked in the courtroom of Cook County Circuit Court Judge Evelyn Clay at the Criminal Courts Building. Clay has scheduled opening statements for Tuesday at 10 a.m. and said she expects the trial to last several weeks.
Over the course of three days this week, potential jurors were queried by both defense lawyers and prosecutors about their stance on the death penalty and about their backgrounds.
The judge, echoed by both prosecutors and defense attorneys, repeatedly told potential jurors not to speak to each other about the case or search for it on the internet.
The case, which began as Chicago police hunted for an Englewood-area serial killer, made headlines in the late 1990s but quickly disappeared from the media after Crawford's arrest in January 2000.
Little has been written about the case since then, and few, if any, of the prospective jurors seemed to recognize his name as the charges against him were read in court earlier this week.
With scores of pretrial motions and a dozen victims, the case has inched through the justice system over the last 10 years. Crawford has been awaiting trial longer than any other inmate in Cook County Jail. http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com

TWO TEENS CHARGED IN TRIPLE MURDER(a woman and her two sons)
Additional Suspect to Face Charges in Giles County Murder
PULASKI, Tenn.- Investigators have one suspect in custody and NewsChannel 5 has learned another suspect will be charged for the crime as well. Detectives are still working hard on the case.
"We feel that if both subjects are going to be charged, they are equally involved with this crime, and they will be treated the same through the court system," said Giles County Sheriff, Kyle Helton.
The Giles County Sheriff's Department says two people were responsible for the brutal murders of Desere Thornton and her two sons, Jerrod and Anthony. Their bodies were found in their Pulaski home which had been set on fire.
Investigators continued Saturday to sift through clues. They say they've already retrieved several pieces of critical evidence in the case.
Authorities have already charged William Angel, 18, with three counts of homicide, and Newschannel 5 has learned a second teen will also be charged after he is released from the hospital. Sources say the boy is recovering from serious burn injuries.
On Saturday those who knew the Thornton's paid respects at the fitness gym owned by Desere.
"I was upset last night, thinking about Jerrod's death. It's depressing," said Taylor Warren, Jerrod's classmate. http://www.newschanel5.com

WOMEN LURED TO SOWELLS HOME LIKELY DRUG ADDICTED
CLEVELAND -- As the body of one woman found in a home on the city's southeast side was identified, some residents maintain that police didn't investigate missing persons reports because the women were believed to be drug addicts.
Ten bodies and a skull have been discovered in an Imperial Home where Anthony Sowell, 50, had been living since being released from prison in 2005 on a rape charge.
Sowell appeared in court Wednesday. He is now charged with five counts of aggravated murder as well as rape, felonious assault and kidnapping. He was not granted bond.
Cuyahoga County Coroner Dr. Frank Miller identified one of the bodies as Tonia Carmichael. Her remains were identified through DNA. She went missing in November 2008.
Cleveland police don't take missing-persons cases seriously if they involve people clinging to the lower rungs of society, said Judy Martin, a leading local anti-crime advocate.
Because of this alleged mindset, Councilman Zach Reed is demanding an investigation into how crime reports in the neighborhood have been handled. Reed also said that his office received reports of a strong odor in the area and he wants to know how the complaints should be handled. Mayor Frank Jackson refused to second-guess officers, but said he expected the police chief would evaluate the situation and make adjustments if necessary.
Police Chief Michael McGrath said the city takes about 10 missing-person reports a day but typically clears at least 90 percent within 48 hours.
Chuck Cole, a landlord with rental homes in the area, said most of the women who disappeared went by nicknames. He said he sometimes saw them buying beer at the corner convenience store, or lounging on Sowell's front porch.
"He reeled them in like that with the money and, you know, promises," Cole said of Sowell.
The Smell
After a while, though, the women stopped coming around.
Residents said that in retrospect the smell alone should have raised questions. It wafted down the street, sometimes forcing employees at the sausage shop near his home to abandon the store on hot summer days.
Sowell's street is lined with occupied homes sandwiched between vacant, boarded-up houses and scattered small businesses with a steady stream of customers.
"We're not talking about some desolate area, some abandoned barn," said Reed, whose mother lives a block away. "How did somebody get away with this in a residential neighborhood?"
It smelled like a dead dog, neighbors say. Like sewage. Like rotting meat.
"It was smelling so bad, horrible, putrid," said Kenneth Broader, a postal carrier who delivers mail to Imperial Avenue.
Sewage lines were replaced. Equipment was scrubbed. City utility officials even came to investigate, on more than one occasion. But the stench lingered. http://www.newsnet5.com

This is s-o-o-o SICK! Those poor helpless women,This creep should not be allowed to ever walk the streets AGAIN!!!
CLEVELAND -- Since his release from prison in 2005, mass murder suspect Anthony Sowell has been a model ex-convict, according to the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Department. Sowell checked in with the Sex Crimes unit every 90 days.
He also cooperated with random verification checks at his home on East 123rd Street.
"Why didn't anybody tell us he was convicted of a sex crime when he moved in here?" said Betty Hamilton. "Nobody told us anything about this guy," she added.
Anthony Sowell's neighbors are clearly frustrated that they were never informed of his sex crimes past. It turns out that Sowell fell into a legal loophole between Megan's Law and the Adam Walsh Act.
Sue DeChant, investigator with the Cuyahoga County Sex Crimes Unit, said that Sowell was released under Megan's Law, which required a yearly check in with the department to verify his address.
In 2008, the Adam Walsh Act required that sexual predators verify their address every 90 days and that all nearby neighbors be notified by law enforcement.
But because Sowell never moved from his current address, no warnings were sent to his neighbors.
Doing a random verification check, a Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Deputy knocked on the suspect's door last month and talked with Sowell. The deputy said he did not smell anything unusual from the front porch of the home. http://www.wkyc.com

THE ABUSED WIFE DEFENSE
On a Saturday evening long ago, a worn-out woman of nearly 40 pushed away from the dinner table inside a claustrophobic cabin she shared with her husband and five children in the Oregon wilderness.
Without a word, Charity Lamb stepped outside and walked to the woodpile, where she retrieved an ax.
The gaunt mother trudged back into the cabin and positioned herself behind the chair of her husband, Nathaniel.
She raised the blade toward the soot-stained ceiling and brought it down, cleaving Nathaniel's skull with a sickening thwack while their children sat as witnesses.
Then she hit him again for good measure.
Lamb and her oldest child, daughter Mary Ann, 17, fled the cabin, leaving four sons, including an infant, with their dying father.
The oldest boy, Abraham, later said his father "fell over and scrambled about a little." The man lingered, but his injuries eventually proved fatal.
Authorities tracked down the wife at a neighbor's place and inquired as to why she had whacked her husband with an ax.
"I did not mean to kill the critter," Charity Lamb told them. "I only intended to stun him."
The homicide, committed on May 13, 1854, made Lamb infamous as the first murderess in the Oregon Territory. The case was noteworthy for another reason: She was one of the first American murder defendants to use the abused-wife defense.
The Lambs had been married in North Carolina in 1837. Mary Ann was born 10 months later, and the sons arrived at irregular intervals thereafter.
In the spring of 1852, the family packed its belongings and joined a wagon train on the five-month journey along the Oregon Trail from Missouri to the northwest wilderness.
They arrived in the Willamette Valley that fall and were issued a government patent to 318 acres in Clackamas County near Salem.
The pioneer lifestyle was hard on Charity Lamb, and she grew sickly and haggard, especially after she gave birth to her fifth child in 1853.
Nathaniel Lamb was not sympathetic. He scolded his wife, driving her to labor harder. When words weren't enough, he used violence against her.
Charity threatened to run away, but Nathaniel vowed to put her in his rifle sights if she ever did. Once, while she was fleeing a tiff, he fired a warning shot that whizzed just past her head.
The relationship faltered further with the arrival in the summer of 1853 of a handsome young stranger named Collins.
Both Charity and daughter Mary Ann apparently were love-smitten by Collins, a hired hand on a neighboring farm.
Nathaniel Lamb found a love letter to Collins in his wife's hand. She claimed she wrote it on behalf of Mary Ann, but local tittle-tattle held that mother and daughter were conspiring to run away with Collins to California. http://www.nydailynews.com

Woman dies after being shot at West Side party http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com
A 24-year-old woman died after being shot in the chest this morning at a party in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.
Jennifer Clark, of the 3200 block of West Crystal Street, was pronounced dead at 1:41 a.m. at Mt. Sinai Hospital, according to a spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner's office.
The shooting occurred about 1:05 a.m. in the 5300 block of West Division Street, according to police.
Chicago Police Officer Laura Kubiak said police investigations show a man was kicked out of the party for "rude behavior." Once outside, the man fired at least one gunshot through a door into the home.
One of those rounds hit Clark, killing her, Kubiak said. She was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital and was unresponsive when she arrived. It is unclear whether she was taken to the hospital by paramedics or friends.
Another person at the party, a 16-year-old girl, was shot in the foot and taken in serious condition to West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park, police said.
Grand Central Area detectives are investigating.

How Smart Are You?
LOVE CALCULATER
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE HURTS---LOVE ISN'T SUPPOSE TO
ARE YOU A VICTIM OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE?

3. Do you feel completely controlled by your partner?
4. Do you feel helpless, trapped, alone, and isolated?
5. Do you blame yourself for the violence?
6. Does your partner blame you and tell you that you are the cause of all his problems?
7. Do you blame the violence on stress, on drugs/alcohol, or a bad childhood?
8. Does your partner constantly accuse you of having affairs when he can't account for 100% of your time? Does he tell you jealousy is a sign of love?
9. Do you fear going home?
10. Are you limited in your freedom like a child? (Go to the store and come straight home. It should take you 15 minutes.)
11. Do you find yourself lying to hide your partner's real behavior (for example, saying you fell down the stairs when actually you were pushed)?
12. Are you embarrassed or humiliated by your partner in an effort to control your behavior, especially in public?
13. Does your partner abandon you, leave you places, or lock you out?
14. Does your partner hide your keys, mail, or other important papers?

THE AFTER MATH OF CHILDHOOD SEXUAL ABUSE (by Dennis Thompson Jr.)
People who were sexually abused as children may have issues with sexual dysfunction and self-destructive behavior when they get older.
Sexual abuse leaves many scars, creating feelings of guilt, anger, and fear that haunt survivors throughout their lives. Adults who have undergone sexual abuse as children commonly experience depression and insomnia. High levels of anxiety in these adults can result in self-destructive behaviors, such as alcoholism or drug abuse, anxiety attacks, and situation-specific anxiety disorders.
The damage extends to the sexual abuse survivor's sense of their own sexuality. Many survivors also have trouble pursuing adult relationships and enjoying sex as an adult. The abuse can color a person's sexuality, preventing the survivor from pursuing a healthy sex life with a loving partner.
Sexual Abuse and Sexual Behaviors
In general, childhood sexual abuse survivors tend to either pursue sex recklessly as adults or to forgo sex completely, says Stephen L. Braveman, MA, a licensed marriage and family therapist in Monterey, Calif., and the western regional representative of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists. "They typically wind up with splitting behavior, where things become very black and white," he says. "Either they are very sexually active, or they shut down sexually." www.everydayhealth.com

Sweet Dreams 4
I remember back in June of 94,I was married to my 2nd abusive husband and pregnant with my now 14 year old son.Nicole Brown Simpson had been murdered. This sent a real chill down my spine.I can remember thinking, now her kids are left without a mother..But,I still remained in my abusive marriage for a little while longer. However,I did separate from him before my son was born.Of course this was not our first seperation.....ya,know the victim most always goes back to her abuser..You know the drill...'I'M Sorry' it won't happen again...Anyway on to Clue #3 CONTROLLING BEHAVIOR...The abuser wants to know your every move...if you arrive home late from an appointment or work, the abuser will become angry and accuse you of seeing someone else. The abuser at this point is very irrational.Trying to defend your actions or trying to reason with the abuser at this point can be very exhausting, to say the least. The abuser will want to control everything from what you wear,to where you go, to whom you talk too.Are you starting to wake up?Well,THERE'S EVEN MORE...AND IT GETS MORE SERIOUS AS WE GO ALONG...
SWEET DREAMS-THREE'S A CROWD
I can remember having the very misguided feeling of being special and ooh so loved, because my husband was so insanely jealous.I was foolish and naive enough to think that this was cute.I was 17,the first time I got married...of course,it was against my adopted parents better judgement. But,you already know...that of course, I did not listen to them.So many women feel unrealistically flattered by the potential abusers jealousy.WAKE UP! You are headed in a DANGER ZONE! I must also mention that,I have suffered from depression my whole life..So,of course this added to my insecurities and acceptance of allowing myself to be a victim time and time again for years..I must say when my 21 yr. old daughter started dating her soon to be abuser..I could do something that,I could not do each time I met one of my future abusers..It was if I had some kind of a built in radar..something that I did not have concerning my abusive relationships. He may as well have been wearing a label because I could see right through him.He absolutely, terrified me.I tried over and over again to warn my daughter to no avail. She stayed in the relationship.I could tell exactly when she was starting to see the REAL person that she too quickly became involved with..Which brings me to #2)QUICK INVOLVEMENT! That Worldwind Wanna Be Romance. The potential abuser comes on strong "You are the only one for me" or "you are the only person that I can trust or talk to"..Many abusers propose in less than six months.Potential abusers will often put pressure on their victims for commitment...to the point that the victim may feel guilty if they want to slow down the relationship. This is yet another important clue..PAY ATTENTION! If these two very important clues are not enough Believe me THERE ARE MORE!

Sweet Dreams Too
First,I would like to say the feelings of hopelessness and just sheer low self esteem can cause a woman to feel so worthless, that she feels somehow it is her fault that her partner is abusive to her. These feelings are Totally Untrue. Please,Please do not listen to these negative feelings. If you have a trusted family member or friend..Please confide in them and let them be a strong source of support. You CAN NOT CHANGE HIM! You are waisting valuable time,if you try.I know that I felt for years, like it was my fault..I thought 'It must be my fault,if I keep attracting these kinds of guys".If you do not have a friend or family member, talk to your family doctor. If this is not an option call 1-800-559-safe.I know that a lot of women stay in the relationship because of finances and their children or both.Especially today,in these hard economic times. It can be difficult. But,your life is priceless..just remember that.If you have young children, they desperately need you.For those of you that would like to know what to look for, as far as WARNING SIGNS..TO VIOLENT ABUSIVE BEHAVIOR..# 1)EXTREME JEALOUSY! He will tell you especially in the beginning of your relationship, that his jealousy is because he loves you so much..you are the best thing that has ever happened to him.He doesn't want lose you.WATCH OUT!
SWEET DREAMS (The beginning of this blog)
This blog is dedicated to women survivors of domestic violence.I was a victim of domestic violence for years. It is behind me now but,it recently touched my 21 year old daughter's life. All of the signs were there and I saw them and I desperately tried to warn her about them. But,of course she would not listen to me.Her ex-boyfriend recently set our house on fire as we were sleeping. The Lord awoke my daughter in time for her to alert us all(my husband & my two teenaged sons)we were able to escape without harm and our house was not very badly damaged.I have since installed a home security system. We all are still terrified because he was never arrested for the aggravated arson. The police did not have prove that he did it.Even though he posted a photo of himself, posing with a lighter burning,on a social network. My daughter has a 2yr. protection order against him.He violated it with telephone calls,he was arrested for this and he does have to go to court for it.In my blog I will list telltale signs of a potentially abusive person.I hope that I can help someone out there avoid becoming a victim of domestic violence.
MANHUNT IN PEORIA (published ALLVOICES) by me win59
On Tuesday Morning November 16th,my husband and I awoke to the startling news of two inmates escaping from the Peoria County Jail sometime between Monday 8:00pm and Tuesday 6:30am. James Fuller 44 and Aaron Cook 28 had managed to escape from the roof. The two had tied sheets together to lower themselves from the rooftop of the jail.(it was like something out of a movie) Fuller had been digging his escape thru the roof for well over a year.Aaron Cook had been in jail since March for breaking the arm of a 3 year old girl.James Fuller an unemployed felon, already convicted of armed robbery and rape was accused of attacking the same woman twice(I & my husband remember reading about the attack in our local newspaper)He is described as a very scary character.Police warned the public that Fuller is to be CONSIDERED DANGEROUS.But,what really made this very scary for me personally, was the fact that he was tracked down to the very neighborhood in which I live.Aaron Cook was captured several hours after the two escaped. He was found hiding in the basement of a residence and two people were arrested for obstructing justice. But,Fuller was still at large.Just blocks away,Fuller broke into a resident's home, tied him up and robbed him, taking a vehicle and a cell phone.Around 7:00 pm he reportedly left the stolen vehicle in a High School parking lot(he was in my area now). The police tracked the cell phone to an area that is like 2 blocks from my house! I was a paranoid mess and I can imagine the fear his victims must have felt upon the news of his escape. He was out there somewhere the entire night.Police finally captured him in a vacant house, where he reportedly surrendered without a struggle(he had left my area). It is reported that Serial Rapist James Fuller 6'3 and 225 lbs. was a patient at Zellers Mental Health Center(now closed down) 20 years ago, when he overpowered a worker and escaped(he was 24 yrs. old) he was at large for 5 days.He was a sixteen year old basketball star when he was first charged with rape,it is reported. But,thanks to the Peoria Police Department and local authority's James Fuller Serial Rapist and Man Of Terror is back behind bars!
