Ederly Woman Found Dead In House Filled With Trash

July 20, 2010 (SKOKIE Ill.) (WLS) -- A woman's body has been found in a home packed with trash piled so high, police could not get through the door.
The building department Tuesday afternoon posted a sign saying that the house is not approved for occupancy and that entry is not allowed.
The woman's daughter discovered the body, and when they arrived, they found her sitting on top of several feet of debris.
"The officers that were on the scene and responded reported that it was some of the worst conditions that they had been exposed to in at least 29 years," said Sgt. Michael Krupnik of the Skokie Police.
Police say the debris inside Marie Davis' Skokie home was so bad that officers responding to her daughter's call for help last night could not get to the 79-year-old woman. Instead, the fire department was called in to punch a hole in the roof to remove the deceased woman's body.

"Debris-filled; unable to gain access," said Krupnik. "Unable to even enter through a doorway without crawling through small tunnels. "

The medical examiner says Davis died of natural causes, yet it is not her death, but the way she and her daughter lived, that attracted attention Tuesday.

"Every night... they [were] walking around the neighborhood," said neighbor Jairo Nieto.

It was at night that Davis would collect trash from other people's homes and take it back to her own. Although some say they knew she was a hoarder and had filed complaints about the outside of the home with the village, none imagined the conditions within.

"We have worked with this family over a number of years and we've been called out a few times in the past," said Dr. Catherine Counard of the Skokie Health Department.

The health department will seek a court order Wednesday to go inside the home and inspect it.

"I noticed sometimes when I'd walk the dog through the alley that her backyard was cluttered," said neighbor Joan Morris. "But I figured, OK, that is her backyard, that's her business, not mine."

"About a year ago, Skokie sent somebody to clean the garage," said Nieto. "They [took] two trucks full of garbage from the garage."

The Skokie Health Department has confirmed they do have a long history of complaints regarding this house. As for the future of the house, they would like to clean it out and rehab it, but it may come down to having to tear it down, a decision that could be made Monday.

ONE OF THE WORST CASES OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE....

CREVE COEUR — A bloody 25-minute window Thursday night in which a woman and her ex-husband died on opposite sides of the Illinois River represents the tragic culmination of years of domestic abuse.

The violence that left 47-year-old Suzann K. Alexander dead at the hands of Bernell B. Alexander, 48, who afterward took his own life, ultimately may have been precipitated by a child support issue that was resolved earlier in the day when an order to garnish wages was sent to the ex-husband's employer.

Both died in plain view of a horrified public. Bernell Alexander came to the Dairy Queen in Creve Coeur's business district on Illinois Route 29 about 9 p.m. and began harassing his ex-wife as she worked the drive-through window. After that confrontation, he entered the business through the back door.

Bernell Alexander grabbed his wife and began beating her, throwing her to the ground as at least one employee attempted to tear him off his victim. He ended the struggle by pulling a gun and firing several times at close range into Suzann Alexander's face and chest. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

"It's obvious there was a lot of rage involved with this incident," said Creve Coeur Police Chief Mike Button.

Bernell Alexander fled in his truck to South Peoria. He was followed by a Dairy Queen customer, who assisted Peoria police in blocking Bernell Alexander's escape as a squad car attempted to pull him over near South Western Avenue and West Ann Street.

Bernell Alexander shot himself there, and his vehicle veered out of control and hit a tree at 9:25 p.m., ending a brief spasm of domestic violence that has roots reaching back to at least 1997.

Bernell and Suzann Alexander had been together since at least 1990, when their first daughter was born. A second daughter was born two years later, though the couple did not wed until Oct. 19, 1996.

Almost exactly a year later, on Oct. 13, 1997, Bernell Alexander shoved and struck his wife in the face, also leaving red marks on her neck and breaking her necklace, according to Tazewell County court records.

He pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery with bodily harm and received a year of probation. But his probation was revoked in September 1998 after he again shoved Suzann Alexander, this time in front of their daughters.

She filed for her first order of protection against him at that time, and his probation was extended until January 1999. He successfully completed the sentence and his probation was terminated.

No further criminal charges resulted from fights between the couple, but Suzann Alexander filed for four more orders of protection over the next decade, before they were divorced.

Suzann Alexander's descriptions of harassment, threats and vandalism to her vehicles and home in those documents paint a disturbing picture of a man who on Thursday followed through with remarks he had made several times in the past.

In an order of protection filed in October 2006, Suzann Alexander claimed her then-husband keyed her car twice, put sugar in the gas tank and threatened to beat her and suffocate her with a pillow while she slept. On Oct. 30, 2006, she claimed he broke off the front door knobs of their home, then broke into the home through a back window and threatened to beat her and kill another man.

She filed for the order the next day. In that instance, Suzann Alexander followed through with maintenance of the order after the initial emergency period expired, and Bernell Alexander was ordered to stay away from her until Jan. 31, 2007.

Additional orders of protection would follow in 2007, 2008 and 2009 in what one law enforcement official involved in the investigation of the murder-suicide called "a classic case of domestic violence gone bad."

In the final order of protection filed Jan. 6, 2009 - just days before the couple's divorce was finalized - Suzann Alexander described additional vehicle vandalism, with anti-freeze in her gas tank in November 2008. On Dec. 23, 2008, she said she awoke to him standing over her. He said he had guns with no serial numbers.

Suzann Alexander twice filed for divorce from Bernell Alexander, in 2007 and 2008. She sought dismissal of the first case, claiming they had reconciled. But the 2008 divorce case was completed in January 2009, with Suzann Alexander receiving sole custody of the couple's daughter, who was still a minor, and the family home at 406 Joliet Road in Marquette Heights.

Friends and family of the victim gathered Friday at the tidy tan ranch with a rustic wooden fence and a neat row of hostas around the base. They declined to comment.

As part of the divorce settlement, Bernell Alexander received a collection of Chicago Bears items, a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and his truck, among some other miscellaneous domestic items. He was ordered to pay $231.18 a week in child support.

Sources said Friday that Suzann Alexander had recently attempted to have Bernell Alexander's wages garnished, and that a letter was sent to or had arrived at the man's employer Thursday, though it was not immediately clear where he worked. Court records indicated he worked with water heaters and other appliances as part of his career.

If a letter to garnish wages had arrived, however, Bernell Alexander didn't betray any emotion over it a few hours before the slaying. He was a longtime friend and work-out companion of a third-shift Creve Coeur police sergeant and the two had met to lift weights together about 4:30 p.m. Bernell Alexander could reportedly bench press 350 pounds.

"He was joking around, was his usual self," Button said the sergeant told him about their interaction that afternoon.

Bernell Alexander previously had confided in the sergeant when domestic problems arose between him and Suzann Alexander, but no such discussion came up Thursday during the work out.

Five hours later, both had died as part of the most violent episode in Creve Coeur in recent memory and the most tragic ending to any domestic violence case. (PJ Star)

GANG MEMBER FACES LIFE FOR PLAYGROUND MURDERS..

The first of six defendants on trial for the horrific 2007 execution-style slaying of three students at a Newark playground was convicted of murder Monday.

After just four hours of deliberations, the jury found Rodolfo Godinez, a Nicaraguan national who was one of six men and boys charged with the brutal slayings, guilty on all 17 charges.

Godinez, a reputed M-13 gang member, faces life in prison when he is sentenced on July 8.

The murders of Dashon Harvey, Iofemi Hightower, both 20, and Terrance Aeriel, 18, shocked Newark - and the nation - and led city officials to tighten gun tracing laws and install more security cameras.

"When I first found out my son was attacked and killed in a schoolyard playground, I blamed it on the parents" who don't teach children right from wrong, said Harvey's father, James Harvey.

"When you let them run astray, these are the types of things that can happen to any child," he said.

The three victims - all enrolled or about to be enrolled at Delaware State University - were found slumped against a wall of the playground, each having suffered a gunshot wound to the back of the head. Hightower and the survivor also were slashed with a machete.

A 19-year-old Delaware State University student survived the massacre. Her face partially paralyzed, she testified last month about being attacked with the knife, sexually assaulted and shot in the head.

"Somebody had their knee on my back, pulled my hair up and was trying to chop my neck off with a machete," she told the jury.

The six defendants in the case are being tried separately.

Attorney General Paula Dow called the Godinez' verdict "just one of six pieces of a cold-blooded puzzle, that shocked this city, this state, this nation three years ago."

Godinez's lawyer, Roy Greenman, had argued his client was at the scene but didn't take part in the attacks.

MAN STABS GIRLFRIEND'S 14 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER TO DEATH....(very tragic and sad)

A 14-year-old girl was stabbed to death in the Bronx and her little sister helped cops nab the suspect - the younger girl's father.

The night of violence Thursday followed two days of arguments between Keisha Austin, 36, and her ex-boyfriend Christopher Ezell, 35.

Austin invited the ex-con to stay with her and then changed her mind, telling him she wanted him out of her life. They jawed over his presence and over her daughter, Emonee Williams.

"I heard them upstairs arguing around 11 that the mother doesn't control her," neighbor Malika Stephenson, 31, said. "He was yelling at the mother about Emonee, that she doesn't control her."

The mom stormed out of the Melrose apartment leaving behind Ezell, her adult sister and her four children - a pair of 2-year-old twin boys, a 9-year-old girl and Emonee.

At some point, Ezell booted the sister from the apartment. About 11:45 p.m., the hot-headed homeless man set in on Emonee, because she kept reminding him that her mother wanted him to leave.

As her twin brothers slept, Emonee was stabbed more than 20 times. The victim's 9-year-old sister, Jazmine, woke up and came out of her bedroom, a police source said.

She may have seen part of the attack in the living room.

Ezell assured his daughter that "everything's going to be okay" and motioned her back into her bedroom, the police source said.

The suspect ran from the apartment and Jazmine called 911. Police said Jazmine gave police a description of her father. He was arrested on the street less than a mile away. Ezell was charged with second degree-murder.

Police took a pair of kitchen knives from the bloody scene. Cops led Ezell from the 40th Precinct stationhouse just before 2 p.m. Friday. The suspect was wearing a bullet-proof vest after cops heard rumors that the victim's father wanted to kill him, police said. Ezell and Emonee, a student at South Bronx Prep, are not related.

A student there told the Daily News a teacher broke the news to her class, bringing everyone to tears. Emonee loved to draw and to dance, friends said. She mentored other students in math and was a great writer, according to teachers at Intermediate School 162 in the Bronx.

She graduated from the school last year and earned a service award for helping teachers and students. "She was a beautiful person," said Jacqueline Araujo, her 8th grade English teacher. "She was always smiling. She had goals. She wanted to become a teacher."

Police had been to the apartment at least twice before the Thursday night attack. They came in December after Austin complained that Ezell had been calling and harassing her. In March 2005, police were called to squash an argument between the the two. Neither case involved Emonee and no one was arrested. The convictions on his record were for attempted robbery and grand larceny.

"It's still hard to believe," neighbor Virginia Vigo, 19, said. "He could have sent her to her room or something. He didn't have to do what he did to her."

The feeling was much the same at a makeshift memorial outside the teen's building, where classmates and friends gathered in grief to place teddy bears, flowers and candles.

"She's like the sister I never had," Janay Wilkerson, 15, wrote in a letter after learning about her best friend's death. "She's earned her pair of wings and I know she has my pair in her hands just waiting for me."

MURDERED WOMAN'S LETTERS PROVE SHE KNEW HER BOYFRIEND WOULD KILL HER....

She knew he was going to kill her.

Letters found on the computer of the live-in girlfriend of Robert Camarano, accused of stabbing her to death in their Chelsea apartment, show he was boiling over with rage, prosecutors said.

"I want to knock your face off, see your teeth break," Michele Hyams wrote that Camarano hissed at her shortly before her brutal June 2008 death. "I want to slam my fist into your f---ing face and knock half your f---in' head off."

"Bobby I have to find some way to protect myself from you. You are going to kill me," Hyams, 60, wrote on one of the letters prosecutors read in Manhattan court yesterday.

Camarano, a 62-year-old ex-con acting as his own lawyer, said someone planted the letter to frame him.

A police witness disputed that claim. "All I can tell you is the documents were created in that computer," said Detective Christopher Wachholtz, an NYPD computer forensics expert, adding the person logged in as Hyams.

HOMELESS MAN MAKES RACIAL ATTACK ON TWO WOMEN...

Cambridge — After police determined he approached two black women and allegedly called racial slurs out against them, as well as striking one on the arm, they arrested Ronald Sparks, 53, 240 Albany St., on May 10 and charged him with assault and battery after reportedly hitting multiple victims on Sidney Street.

According to police reports, Sparks was at the Shaw’s supermarket on Sidney Street at approximately 3:31 p.m. When they arrived at the store, they found Sparks sitting on the sidewalk, yelling at two black females standing approximately 10 feet away from him. One had been struck by Sparks and the other spat upon. The females said Sparks attacked them for no reason. Witnesses who stopped to assist the women said Sparks was belligerent toward them, which caused them to walk away. They said he was “out of control” and “crazy.”

Police reported Sparks appeared to be intoxicated. When officers approached him, he continued to swear at the women, and then reached up with his left arm to grab one of the officer’s shirt. Police turned him over on his stomach and arrested him on disorderly conduct charges. They stated he was uncooperative and combative. He also spat on another officer’s right arm and shirt. QUESTIONS REMAIN IN MURDERED WISCONSIN MAN'S DEATH...

Police have questioned a Big Rock woman in connection with a fatal shooting in Wisconsin last month.

According to a search warrant filed in Kane County, on April 30, two Wisconsin investigators went to the Big Rock woman's home after several clues led them to believe she had information about the death of Vance Evans, a bar owner in Tomah, Wis., about two hours northwest of Madison.

Evans' girlfriend found the body of the 53-year-old in his apartment at 1:30 a.m. April 27, the search warrant says. Local police said Evans was shot, but have not classified the death as a murder.

Tomah Police Chief Wesley Revels said Wednesday his department continues to gather information while awaiting crime lab test results. Serving the search warrant was part of the investigation, though it does not necessarily mean the Big Rock woman is a suspect, Revels said.

According to the warrant, not long before Evans died, his girlfriend had received a call from Evans' cell phone. Evans told his girlfriend the "psycho from Illinois" was at his house and he could not get rid of her.

Later, the girlfriend called Evans back and the phone was answered by a woman, the warrant says. Investigators combing the apartment for evidence found contact information for the Big Rock woman.

The Big Rock woman is named in the warrant, but she has not been charged with a crime. Mike Rabbit, the woman's attorney, declined comment.

According to the warrant, Evans received calls from the Big Rock woman the night he died. The Big Rock woman also checked into a hotel in Tomah the night before Evans died, but a housekeeper later said it appeared the room had not been used.

Court records show that two Wisconsin officers went to the Big Rock woman's house on April 30 to talk about an "unfortunate incident in Tomah." The woman replied her lawyer advised her not to answer any questions.

Police seized a brake pedal, floor mat, cell phone and documents from her house, according to court records.

Evans was born and raised in Tomah, but lived in Illinois for 30 years while he worked at Chrysler. He bought The Sportsman's Bar in Tomah in 1995.

"He was life of the party," said the bar's co-owner, Dorothy Walker. "He had lots and lots of friends. We miss him terribly."(Aurora-Beacon News)

10 YEAR OLD GIRL WITNESSED HER FATHER'S MURDER....

A 10-year-old girl watched in horror as her father was shot to death outside their Brooklyn home while on his way to the corner store.

Ashley Lopez was watching her father, Jose Lopez, 27, from the fourth-floor window of their Cypress Hills home around 9:25 p.m. Sunday when the shooting occurred, her mother said.

"She was just watching him go to the store," said Melissa Delgado, 26, the mother of Ashley and Lopez's two other children, Jose Jr., 5, and Alana, 6 months.

"All of a sudden, I heard a gunshot. It sounded like a firecracker. Then Ashley started screaming, 'Daddy! Daddy! Leave my daddy alone!'" she said. "She said the shooter looked up, right at her. That's what really scared her. She saw him."

Lopez was transported to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Delgado's uncle, Ismael Ortiz, 38, was visiting the family and tried desperately to save Lopez.

"I heard Ashley screaming, ran downstairs so fast. I came out and saw Jose lying on the ground. He wasn't moving."

"I tried to give him CPR," Ortiz said, "but he took his last breath and just died in my arms.

"I don't understand why this happened."

Police said Lopez had a criminal record dating to 1994, including robbery, criminal possession of marijuana and criminal possession of stolen property.

In 2007, he was busted for reckless endangerment, driving without a license, driving with a suspended license, and disorderly conduct.

But Delgado insisted that "his kids always came first."

"He was crazy about them, always with them, for their appointments, everything," she said. "He never missed out on anything. I don't know what we're going to do now without him."

Friends and family lit candles at the crime scene on Eastern Parkway and left a cigar and a bottle of Hennessey cognac.

KILLER USED SOCIAL NETWORK TO LURE HIS VICTIM....

A young woman's dream to work with animals turned into a nightmare this weekend after a killer allegedly used this knowledge - gained through Facebook - to lure her to her death.

Police in Australia say 18-year-old Nona Belomesoff was "tricked" into meeting a man she'd befriended on the popular social media Web site to go to an isolated bush land west of Sydney.

Her body was later found in a creek and her exact cause of death has not yet been released.

Police have charged Christopher Dannevig, 20, for Belomesoff's murder. They believe he created a fake Facebook page and used details she'd posted on her own page to con her.

"He said he could get her a job," Belomesoff's brother, Gary, said, the Daily Telegraph reported. "She loved animals and saw this as an opportunity to follow her dream."

"Nona said if she didn't go she would lose her job and this job was her dream," he said. "So she just went and that was the last time we saw her."

"It was a bogus ruse to get her out there," said Detective Russell Oxford, according to the Telegraph.

Now, police in Australia are encouraging teenagers to show more discretion when it comes to their information online, and remove their photos.

"Don't have a photo of yourself on Facebook. Have photos only open to friends," Detective Superintendent John Kerlatec said. "Treat each person you talk to as a complete stranger."

"For parents, you wouldn't invite a complete stranger into your homes and have them sit down with your child for hours on end, so don't let them sit on the Internet talking to strangers for hours on end," he said.

Dannewig also had accounts on MySpace and Bebo, the Daily Mail reported.

"Be careful," Gary said on Channel Seven News in Sydney. "You can't just trust anybody over the Internet."

NEIGHBORS FROM HELL BEAT,DRUGGED AND RAPED A 14 YR. OLD GIRL FOR 2 WEEKS...

The Brooklyn home where a teen was allegedly beaten, raped and drugged for two weeks was a hell house full of violence and wild parties, neighbors said.

The squalor at 1499 President St. in Crown Heights was so extreme that neighbors can believe a 14-year-old girl's alarming accusations that two men cuffed her to a chair in the basement and brutalized her for weeks.

"We all knew there were bad things happening at that house," said Mark Morrison, 61, who lives across the street.

Kevin Evans and Anthony King, both 24, were arrested Wednesday and charged with kidnapping and rape in the attack on the teen.

Evans' mother owned the home for more than 10 years. When she died six years ago, Evans and his pals took over.

Since then, it's been all-night parties, illicit activity and even brawls that spilled into the street, neighbors said.

Several windows are blown out from a fire two years ago, and four pit bulls roam the house, neighbors said.

The dark basement where the girl was allegedly held has a dirty mattress on the floor, a table covered with cigarette butts and an empty bottle of brandy.

"In the summer, neighbors would call the cops every other night," said Ivan Moore, 48, who has lived across the street for 17 years.

"They were the neighbors from hell," said Moore. "[Evans is] going to be a guest at Hotel Rikers Island, and I think everyone is relieved."

POLICE UNABLE TO LOCATE NEWBORN BABY...

Marion County Juvenile Court Judge Marilyn Moores today ordered a 19-year-old woman to disclose the location of a newborn she gave birth to on Monday, and police have been searching to find the baby in case she is still alive.
Tasha B. Miller gave birth to a girl without medical assistance at her Near Northside apartment, according to juvenile court documents obtained by The Star. Miller arrived at Methodist Hospital on Wednesday in need of treatment for complications from the birth, the documents said.

Miller initially told authorities she had take the baby to a safe location. However, she later gave multiple conflicting accounts of the child's location, including that she placed the baby in a dumpster and that she left the baby at a safe haven.
Police have searched an area around Miller's apartment, including dumpsters -- as well as a dump site for Indianapolis refuse in Clinton County -- but have found no trace of the baby, according to Lt. Jeff Duhamell of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. Detectives are treating it as a missing persons case.

Duhamell said anyone with information about what happened to Miller this week or the baby's location should call IMPD's missing persons unit at (317) 327-6160.---http://www.indystar.com/

GROOM AND WEDDING PARTY BODIES FOUND IN TRUCK..

CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico (AP) — The bodies of a groom and two members of his wedding party were found in the back of a truck four days after being snatched at gunpoint as they left the church in this violent border city, officials said Tuesday.

Family members of the victims said the men were related and U.S. citizens from La Mesa, New Mexico, according to the El Paso (Texas) Times.

Chihuahua state prosecutors' spokesman Arturo Sandoval said all three victims were born in Mexico, according to birth certificates presented to investigators by their relatives. It wasn't clear if they also held U.S. citizenship.

Sandoval said investigators were searching for gunmen who opened fire on the just-married couple and their guests in Ciudad Juarez, killing one person. The assailants then kidnapped the groom, his uncle and his brother.

The gunmen left the bride at the church during Friday's attack in this city across the border from El Paso, Texas.

The bodies of the three men were found in the back of a pickup truck late Monday, along with a fourth body of someone who had not been identified and might not have been at the wedding.

Police identified the three victims as Rafael Morales Valencia, 29, his brother Jaime Morales Valencia, 25, and their uncle Guadalupe Morales Arriola, 47.

Family members told the El Paso Times they did not know why the men were targeted.

Authorities didn't provide a motive from the killings, but Ciudad Juarez has been shaken by violence as gangs fight bloody battles for drug routes north and control of territory. There have been more than 4,300 killings linked to organized crime in Ciudad Juarez since President Felipe Calderon launched his war on drugs in December 2006.

Also Tuesday, federal police in Tabasco state arrested a prison director and seven guards after cocaine was found inside prison grounds.

Police in the western state of Michoacan found the bodies of two men along with a note threatening those who give authorities information on drug traffickers, state prosecutors said in a statement.

Also in Michoacan, a former state official was released from prison a year after being detained by federal prosecutors in an unprecedented roundup of 30 local and state officials, including 12 mayors, accused of protecting drug traffickers.

Ricardo Rubi, a former official with the state's economic development department, was released from prison Tuesday for lack of evidence.---http://www.dallasnews.com/

MOM WHO TOSSED HER BABY INTO HUDSON RIVER HEADED TO PSCHIC WARD...

The deranged Manhattan mom who tossed her 20-month-old daughter into the Hudson River was ordered Friday to stay away from the child and undergo a psychiatric exam.

Devi Silvia Dominic showed little reaction as she appeared at the Manhattan hearing via video from the psychiatric ward at Elmhurst Hospital Center in Queens.

The 33-year-old defendant and her toddler were pulled from the frigid Hudson after she tossed the little girl into the choppy waters and jumped in herself. Dominic was arrested after Tuesday's failed murder-suicide.

"She told us that she was sad and lonely and angry at her husband, and that she did this horrific act on purpose," said Assistant District Attorney Robert Hettleman.

"She threw her baby into the freezing Hudson River to get back at her husband," the prosecutor charged.

Manhattan Criminal Court Justice Melissa Jackson ordered Dominic to undergo a psychiatric evaluation and to stay away from her daughter pending a June 15 hearing.

"You are to have absolutely no contact ... no telephone calls, nothing," Jackson said.

Little Jessica was blue and motionless when pulled from the frigid river, although she was now listed in stable condition, Hettleman said.

Dominic also has a 6-year-old daughter. The disheveled defendant, in a white T-shirt and baggy grey sweatpants, sat in a wheelchair for the hearing. A translator helped the native of India follow the proceeding.

Dominic was charged with attempted murder, assault, reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child.

REJECTED BOYFRIEND POURS GAS ALL OVER GIRLFRIEND (While she is smoking a cigarette)

Cambridge — A jilted Dorchester man was arrested after he allegedly poured gasoline over his Cambridge girlfriend as she was smoking a cigarette.

Police responded to Blakeslee Street for reports of a domestic assault at 11:40 a.m. May 3. The caller, police reports note, said the victim was outside and had been doused in gasoline. The boyfriend was allegedly in the house, naked in her bed.

On arrival, officers found the Cambridge victim on the porch, shaken and crying. She reportedly told police the suspect was upstairs in the first bedroom of the apartment.

Police entered the apartment immediately smelled a strong odor of gasoline.

The victim told officers she had tried to break up with her boyfriend but it had not gone well. She said the suspect allegedly kept calling and texting her all night after she came home. At 9:30 a.m., she woke up to him allegedly banging on her door and ringing the doorbell. When she finally let him in, she said he was “creepily calm.”

He then went down to the basement and came up with a can of gasoline. The victim was smoking a cigarette and walked away from him when he allegedly threatened to set her on fire saying, “You think I won't do it?” and dumped the fuel from the gas can over her head.

She managed to get away from him to change and said she had to clean up the mess. The suspect allegedly told her she was only allowed five minutes. She began mopping as the suspect went to bed in her room. When she saw he was falling asleep, the victim said she snuck into the bedroom, took her cell phone and went outside to call because she was “terrified.”

The suspect was found lying in bed with a white comforter covering most of his body. He was found naked but was allowed to put on some clothes before being handcuffed.

Cambridge Fire and EMS units arrived on scene to treat the victim who was taken to Mt. Auburn Hospital to be evaluated for irritation caused by the gasoline.

Fire personnel removed her clothing as well as other gasoline-drenched items from the house and then physically took the windows off the house because of the dangerous level of fumes, the report stated. A gasoline-doused T-shirt, shorts and underwear, bathroom rug, bath towel and a red plastic gasoline container were taken as evidence.

Jamaar D. Johnson, 23, of Dorchester was placed under arrest and charged with two counts of assault to murder, domestic assault and battery and attempt to commit arson, according to the report.---http://www.wickedlocal.com/

TEENAGED GIRL TALKS ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED WITH EX-NFL FOOTBALL PLAYER

The baby-faced hooker Lawrence Taylor is accused of raping said Monday night she hadn't recognized the Giants great and now doesn't want to "ruin his reputation."

The 16-year-old said Taylor was no brute - but not very charming, either.

"He paid me $300 cash to have sex with him," said the petite, curly-haired teen whose pimp brought her to LT's hotel room. "I got it over with as quickly as I could. Afterward, all he said was turn off the TV before you leave."

She said she was brought to a Holiday Inn in Rockland County by Rasheed Davis, 36, who she says brutally beat her and forced her to have sex with Taylor.

Davis has been charged with sex trafficking.

Speaking outside her uncle's apartment building on Westchester Ave. in the Bronx, the girl said she thinks Davis should go to jail "for a long time," but she is not so sure about Taylor.

"I was a huge Giant fan," she said, "and I used to look up to him." She added, "I don't want to ruin his reputation," despite what happened in the hotel room.

"After all," she said, "He's in the Hall of Fame and he won two Super Bowls."

The teen said the door to Taylor's room was open when she arrived that night.

"I walked in and it was dark," she said. "The only light was coming from the TVs in the living room and the bedroom. Lawrence Taylor was naked. We made some small conversation at the start.

"I didn't know who he was and he didn't tell me his name, either. He just said he was from Miami.

"He asked my age, and I told him I was 19," said the girl, who looks considerably younger. "I knew what I was there for, and if I didn't give him what he wanted, there would be consequences from Rasheed. I was afraid."

The teenager said she had another concern. "The condom got stuck in me," she said. "I told him, 'I'd better not get pregnant,' and he said, 'It's all right - I'm fixed.'"

The youngster, who said she now lives with her father, wants to turn her life around before it's too late and "move forward."

Gently touching a shiner around her right eye - which she said she received from Davis - she smiled and said, "I want to go back to school to get my GED, and maybe - someday - become a pediatrician."

WOMAN KILLS HERSELF BEFORE SHE COULD BE ARRESTED FOR BOYFRIEND'S MURDER

A woman suspected in the fatal shooting of her 63-year-old boyfriend killed herself with what appeared to be the murder weapon just as police caught up with her, authorities reported today.

Beth Jia, 53, of Alhambra, had been dating the victim, whose body was found about 10:30 a.m. Friday in his Brea home, Sgt. Bill Smyser said.

The man's name has not been released because authorities have not been able to notify his next-of-kin. His mother lives in Northern California, but so far investigators have not yet been able to contact her, Smyser said.

Brea detectives got a search warrant on Saturday for Jia's home, where they found ammunition and other evidence consistent with evidence from the crime scene, Smyser said.

Jia was not at home, and detectives learned the following day that she was at an apartment complex in El Monte, Smyser said.

As investigators worked on securing a search warrant for that address, Jia emerged from the apartment about 8 p.m. Sunday, got into her 2010 Toyota Corolla and began driving away, Smyser said.

Brea detectives intercepted her and asked her to get out of the car, but she shot herself in the head, Smyser said. Jia was rushed to County-USC Medical Center in Los Angeles, where she was pronounced dead at 9:03 p.m., Smyser said.

The .38-caliber Smith & Wesson revolver Jia used to shoot herself was registered to her, he said. Her boyfriend was shot with the same sort of weapon,
Smyser said.
Investigators still need to do ballistics tests to confirm whether the gun was the murder weapon, but with so much circumstantial evidence, detectives are "fairly confident," Jia killed her boyfriend, Smyser said.--http://www.dailybreeze.com/

STRANGE WOMAN TRIES TO LURE YOUNG GIRLS ON MOM'S DAY...

Police in west suburban Wheaton are searching for a woman accused of trying to lure two young girls into her car by offering them ice cream on Mother's Day.

The attempted child abduction happened about 6:30 p.m. Sunday as the girls, both under 13, were playing outside in the 1900 block of Lancaster, according to a Wheaton police release.

The girls instead ran home and told their parents, who called police. The area was searched and officers were not able to locate the woman or her vehicle.

She is desribed as a white, possibly Hispanic woman between 55 and 65 with black and gray hair, and a medium brown complexion, the release said. She was wearing a gray blouse with a white and blue silk scarf.

MOM'S WHO HAVE LOST CHILDREN GATHER TOGETHER FOR SUPPORT..

May 9, 2010 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- Chicago mothers who have lost children to violence gathered for a somber event on Mother's Day, supporting each other and calling for an end to the bloodshed.

Those assembled at St. Sabina church on the city's South Side said they also wanted to see an end to the silence that is protecting murderers.

The emotional gathering has become an annual event at St. Sabina.

One mother attending the event was Yolan Henry; her daughter, Nova Henry, and granddaughter became victims of gun violence .

"It's hard to say Happy Mother's Day and really feel happy about it," Yolan Henry said.

It's the same for mother Elizabeth Lopez and her husband. Their son was gunned down last year on April 15.

"As a mother, this is very painful," she said.

"You remember all the good things: his first step, the first time he looks at you and you know he loves you," said Andrew Lopez.

On what is a day of celebration for most, the women at St. Sabina were among a growing sisterhood of grief, sharing the sorrow and hurt of losing a child.

"You don't know what it's like to wake up and not have your child on Mother's Day or any other day," said Maria Ramirez.

The mothers, their families and supporters gathered Sunday at a newly unveiled sculpture dedicated to the memory of their murdered children.

It depicts the taking of a young life. (ABC-WLS)

PRINCIPAL ARRESTED FOR CHILD LEAVING CHILDREN ALONE

A middle aged Dallas principal was arrested by police this morning after they say she left her 3- and 4-year-old children in a room at the Adolphus hotel while she tried to get into a downtown nightclub.

Carla Westbrook-Spaniel, 44, of Arlington was arrested on two counts of abandoning a child with the intent to return and one count of public intoxication. Westbrook-Spaniel was in the Dallas County Jail on Saturday after her arrest at 1:30 a.m. Bail was set at $30,000.

According to police, Westbrook-Spaniel tried to get into a nightclub in the 1500 block of Main Street early Saturday but was turned away by the bouncer because she didn't meet the dress code. She then tried to push her way past the bouncer to get inside and punched him in the stomach, police Sgt. Warren Mitchell said.

When officers arrived, Westbrook-Spaniel became agitated and wrestled with them, according to a police report. Mitchell said the officers reported that she scratched her cheeks while flailing on the ground.

Officers arrested Westbrook-Spaniel on the public intoxication count after smelling alcohol on her breath, the report said.

In the course of the arrest, the officers learned that Westbrook-Spaniel's children were alone in a room at the Adolphus downtown. Officers who checked on the children found them sleeping naked in bed. After the officers woke them up, the children complained of hunger and the officers got them something to eat.

It was unclear how long the children had been left unattended. Police took custody of them and notified Child Protective Services.

Abandoning a child with the intent to return is a state jail felony. Conviction can draw 180 days to two years in jail and a fine up to $10,000.

According to a short biography on the Fort Worth ISD website, Westbrook-Spaniel has been a principal at J.P. Elder Middle School since 2006. She previously was a special education teacher and principal in the Dallas Independent School District, according to the biography. DISD appointed her principal at Oran M. Roberts Elementary near Fair Park in 1999.

TWO TEENAGER'S KILLED AT PARTY DEFENDING FRIEND'S MOM

Two  innocent teenagers were killed at a party, both defending a friend's mom.

Quanisha Wright, 16, tried to defend her friend's mother from a gunman's taunts and Marvin Wiggins jumped in front of a bullet to protect another woman from the gunplay, witnesses said.

Marvin Wiggins, 15, died cradled in his father's arms.

"He said 'I'm sorry Pop, I'm holding on.' I said, 'Why you sorry? Just don't go Marvin, breathe," said Marvin Wiggins Sr., 69.

"Then he started gasping," Marvin Wiggins Sr. said. "His eyes went back. I said, 'Please Marvin hold on.' But I didn't hear him say anything then."

Marvin Wiggins Jr. and Quanisha Wright, who had just celebrated her Sweet 16th birthday on Friday, were shot at a party for a one-year-old in an apartment at 1776 Weeks Ave. at about 2 a.m.

A teen who lives upstairs in the five-story building, his father, and a friend were taken into custody and questioned. They had not been charged last night.

A third victim, Tisha Eleazer, 20, aunt of the birthday baby, was hit in the arm.

Witnesses told the Daily News the shooter had been beaten up by party-goers earlier in the evening for touching a young girl. They said he came back to the party mad and armed.

"They can't take a beating - that's why they came back with the gun," one witness said.

When the men returned, they taunted Eleazer's mother, prompting Wright to step up and tell one of the men not to disrespect the older woman, witnesses said.

At that point, another man opened fire. Wright was hit in the torso.

"How could they take my little girl away over nothing?" asked her heartbroken dad, John Barnwell. "She was the sweetest girl. She never hurt a soul."

Wright, a student at the Bronx Leadership Academy, was raised by her grandmother.

MOTHER AND DAUGHTER SHOT WHILE SLEEPING

A shooting early Mother's Day left a mother and daughter injured while they were sleeping in an apartment in Kenosha, Wisc.

About 2:30 a.m., a shot was fired into an apartment unit in the 4800 block of 38th Avenue, striking a 10-year-old girl and what is believed to be her 45-year-old mother, according to Kenosha Police Sgt. David Molinaro.

Mother and daughter were asleep together in a bed in the ground-level apartment when a shot from outside pierced the wood siding of the apartment and entered the bedroom, Molinaro said. The bullet hit the girl in her upper leg, went "through-and-through," and exited, striking the mother in her hip, he said.

Neither injuries were life-threatening and the pair were taken to a local hospital for treatment. They are expected to be released later Sunday, Molinaro said.

There were other people in the apartment at the time, but no one else was injured, he said.

Information was not immediately available on whether anyone was in custody or if police were speaking to persons of interest, he said.---http://www.suntimes.com/

POLICE BELIEVE PERVERT MAY HAVE MOLESTED MORE THAN THREE BOYS

CREST HILL — Police are concerned a man accused of molesting three boys may have had other victims.

Christian L. Shepherd, 31, of Ottawa, was taken into custody April 30 on sex charges after he allegedly admitted he had molested a boy who is now 16.

"After (the 16-year-old) told his girlfriend that a family friend had abused him when he was between 10 and 14 years old, she convinced him to tell his mother, who notified us," Chief Dwayne Wilkerson said.

The mother notified police April 19, and the teen was interviewed at the Will County Child Advocacy Center. Shepherd had baby sat for the boy while his mother was at work.

"After she noticed bruises on (the boy's) back from 'rough wrestling' two years ago, she thought something was off and discouraged Shepherd from associating with them any more," Wilkerson said.

Police records show Shepherd was living in Lois Place in Joliet at the time of the alleged abuse and was employed as a school bus driver until recently. He has since moved to an apartment at 1324 Dakota Drive in Ottawa.

Shepherd was contacted and voluntarily came in for questioning April 30.

"He was interviewed and gave a statement admitting his involvement with the victim," Wilkerson said.

Further investigation allegedly discovered Shepherd sexually abused the younger brother of a Bolingbrook woman he was involved with in 2003 and the 5-year-old son of a Lockport woman he had a relationship with in 2004.

Shepherd has been charged with one count of criminal sexual assault of a minor and three counts of criminal sexual abuse of a minor. He remains at the county jail where he is being held on $50,000 bond. "Detectives Renee Maly and Jason Opiola did an outstanding job with a thorough investigation," Wilkerson said.

"There are no definite indications there are other victims, but based on the suspect's history it is a possibility," Wilkerson said. "If anyone has information regarding other inappropriate activity involving Shepherd they should call investigators."

Crest Hill police can be reached at 815-741-5115.---http://www.heraldnews.com/

MAN CONFESSES TO STABBING WOMAN TO DEATH

A man accused of stabbing a woman to death in a residential hotel room and stealing her car told police he committed the crime and felt terrible for her family, according to a Las Vegas police report.

Jason Garcia, 40, was charged with murder and grand larceny in the Monday slaying of 30-year-old Melissa Brink.
According to Garcia's statements to police, he and Brink, his girlfriend, were in his room at Budget Suites, 2219 N. Rancho Drive, at Lake Mead Boulevard, when he attempted to have sex with her.

She refused and told him to stop. He "felt she was seeing someone else and was leaving him," the report states Garcia told detectives. Brink had recently forced Garcia to move out of her home, he told police.

Garcia told police he took a box cutter from a table and put it to his own throat, but then suddenly stabbed Brink several times in the neck. He considered calling paramedics, but chose not to, he told police.

He told police he covered Brink's body with a blanket, took her Pontiac Grand Am and drove to Pahrump, where a friend took the car to be sold for parts.

On Tuesday, Garcia was found on the side of the road by a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper, who booked him at the Nye County Detention Center that afternoon.

When the trooper asked Garcia why he was on the side of the road, Garcia said, "You know who I am, I'm the guy on TV that you are looking for," the report said.

He was then interviewed by Las Vegas police detectives, arrested, and booked at the Clark County Detention Center on Wednesday, the report said.

The report said Garcia told police he felt sorry for Madison, Brink's 6-year-old daughter, as well as Brink's parents.

Garcia told police he had ended Brink's life and his own in a fit of rage.---http://www.lvrj.com/

WOMAN WAS DRUNK WHEN SHOT AND KILLED BY BROTHER

LAS CRUCES - The Montana woman allegedly killed by her brother in Las Cruces in March had a blood-alcohol content of .254 when she was shot, according to autopsy results issued Thursday.
Under New Mexico law, a blood-alcohol level of .08 is considered the threshold for drunken driving.

Denise "Deni" Zikmanis, 43, of Fort Benton, Mont., was allegedly shot in the head March 27 with a .40 caliber Beretta at her brother's home during an argument over the morality of smoking marijuana, according to court records.

Two days after the shooting, family elected to proceed with organ donation and she was removed from life support at University Medical Center of El Paso, according to Thursday's autopsy results from the Office of the Medical Investigator.

Her brother, Richard Scott Zikmanis, 40, an analyst with the Department of Defense's National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, has pleaded not guilty to a charge of first-degree murder. He remains at the Doña Ana County Detention Center, awaiting a court date.

Deni Zikmanis and three other family members had arrived in Las Cruces the afternoon of the shooting.

Richard Zikmanis told a detective he had armed himself just before everyone else went to bed, after which he and his sister stayed up drinking beer - and then hard liquor when they ran out.

He "later recalled putting the gun on the counter and knowing that he shot his sister," according to court documents. In addition, he allegedly admitted to police that four
or five years before, he consumed a lot of alcohol, pointed a shotgun at his wife and threatened her.---http://www.lcsun-news.com/

TEACHER ARRESTED ON SIX COUNTS OF SEXUAL MISCONDUCT...

Parents waiting to pick up their children at Las Vegas High School Thursday afternoon expressed concern and disgust with a teacher recently arrested for sexual misconduct with a student.

Spanish and theater teacher Jennifer Gardel, 30, was booked into the Clark County Detention Center Wednesday evening on six felony counts of sexual misconduct with a student.

A source close to the investigation said the arrest stemmed from Gardel's relationship with a 17-year-old male student.

As kids poured out the school near Sahara Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard Thursday, some parents said any allegation of sexual misconduct between a teacher and student needs to be taken seriously.

"She should have known the boundaries between a teacher and student," said William Ufret, a father of a freshman.

Cree Stanley, whose daughter is a Las Vegas High School freshman, wondered why Gardel couldn't find "men her own age."

"She's a grown woman," Stanley said. "She should understand that's somebody else's child."

Gardel was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on $18,000 bail, but jail records on Thursday indicated she was no longer at the facility.

Gardel did not return phone calls Thursday.

Clark County School District spokesman Michael Rodriguez said Gardel has been placed on paid administrative leave. She was hired by the district in August 2007, he said.

Rodriguez said "appropriate actions" will be taken in Gardel's case based on the criminal investigation.

State law explicitly states that teachers can't engage in sexual acts with students who are minors.---http://www.lvrj.com/

TEEN SENTENCED FOR STABBING ADOPTIVE MOM WITH BUTCHER KNIFE...

Torn between love and fear, a Jacksonville mother tearfully asked a judge Tuesday to send her adopted 15-year-old son to prison for stabbing her with a butcher knife.

“I love Andrew. It is so hard,” Barbara Gail O’Brien testified. “He needs help, but I don’t want him out in a year. I’m terrified of him. I don’t want him to know where I am.”

But Andrew Paul O’Brien and his adopted sister said he took as much of their mother’s verbal and physical abuse as he could before he snapped.

“I think he handled the situation the best he could. He didn’t know how to handle it any other way,” Kayla O’Brien, 18, testified.

Circuit Judge Jeff Morrow called the case a “social quagmire” before sentencing the slight Forrest High School freshman to 25 years in prison, followed by 15 years of probation with psychiatric counseling. Morrow found no evidence of abuse.

“This is a heartbreaking case,” Morrow told the 5-foot-1, 120-pound teen. “I don’t want to be the judge to sentence you, but it’s my duty.”

Andrew O’Brien pleaded guilty in March to attempted first-degree murder. In January he chased his mother down and stabbed her nine times in the back, shoulder and head after she told him to get off the family’s new couch in his wet clothes.

The teen told Morrow on Tuesday he had repaired the family’s roof in the rain and sat down on the couch. When his mother started yelling, he said he thought about times she had called him names and slapped him.

“I went and got a knife and stabbed her. I guess I was mad,” he said before hanging his head and crying. “I just want to say I’m sorry. Nobody deserves to be stabbed.”---jacksonville.com

MAN ON TRIAL FOR RAPING WOMAN IN HIS JIFFY LUBE OFFICE....

A former Torrance Jiffy Lube employee told a jury on Monday that the customer accusing him of rape was "flirtatious" and didn't tell him to stop until after they began having sex.

Johnny Jeffrey Maciel, 23, implied that the encounter he had with the alleged victim inside the auto shop's office on Feb. 26, 2009, was consensual.

But when she told him to stop, he did, Maciel said.

He said the woman, who had only moments before the incident mentioned that her child's father was murdered about six months before, told him she felt "bad that my husband died and I'm doing this."

Earlier in the Torrance Superior Court trial, which began about a week ago, the victim told the jury she went to the office with Maciel to get a business card, and he repeatedly asked her for a hug.

She said she told him "no," and he closed the office door before raping her. The woman, whose two young daughters and an adult friend were waiting for her, said she ran out, crying.

Maciel is charged with one count

of rape for the incident at the Jiffy Lube at 190th Street and Crenshaw Boulevard, where he was an assistant manager.
In a soft, mumbled voice, the Lynwood man said he recognized the woman because she was there two days before, but had returned after smelling gasoline in her car.

He said she laughed with him and his co-workers and was "flirtatious."

When they got to the office, she told him about her boyfriend, and they hugged and kissed for about five minutes before having sex. READ MORE AT:http://www.dailybreeze.com/

MAN CHARGED WITH KILLING HIS 16 MONTH OLD SON...

Jacksonville police this morning announced the arrest of a man in the slaying of his 16-month-old son last week.

Donte Lorenzo Dawson Sr., 28, is charged with murder in Tuesday's death of Donte Dawson Jr.

Jacksonville homicide investigators, led by Detective Kevin Haines, were called to Baptist Medical Center to investigate the child's death, police said. Police learned through interviews that Donte was in normal health prior to being left in his father's care for less than an hour, an arrest report said.

Police said the child was found unresponsive, then convulsing and vomiting, in his parents Bentley Green apartment in the 9500 block of Princeton Square Boulevard off Baymeadows Road. The child was taken to the hospital by rescue.

Lt. Larry Schmitt of the Sheriff's Office homicide unit did not describe how the child was harmed. An autopsy found he sustained multiple traumatic injuries.

Donte's father was arrested Friday after being interviewed by detectives. He is being held in jail without bail.

DISTURBED MAN WITH BUTCHER KNIFE & WRITTEN THREAT ARRESTED

A man carrying a butcher knife and a note indicating he was going to kill himself and his 10-month-old son was arrested Thursday when he tried to kidnap the boy from a Gardena day-care center, police said.

Latron McDowell, 20, of Los Angeles was taken into custody when police confronted him at an in-home child-care business in the 13400 block of Wilton Place, Gardena police Lt. Steve Prendergast said.

When police arrived, he was in a physical fight with a female day-care provider, Prendergast said.

Officers ordered McDowell to stop, but he ran. Officers chased him down.

Police determined McDowell had arrived at the facility in a stolen vehicle that was taken earlier from a used-auto dealership.

"McDowell was in possession of a butcher knife and a suicide note indicating he was going to take his life, along with his 10-month-old son's life," Prendergast said.

McDowell admitted to detectives that he stole the car to drive to the day-care provider's home to kidnap his son.

"He also admitted he was going to kill his son, then kill himself," Prendergast said.

Prendergast said an earlier fight with the boy's mother prompted McDowell to attempt the murder-suicide.

He did not have custody rights to take the child from the day-care provider.

McDowell was arrested on suspicion of attempted kidnapping, attempted murder, assault and auto theft.

He was held at the Gardena jail on $1 million bail.---http://www.dailybreeze.com/

THE AFTER MATH OF CHILDHOOD SEXUAL ABUSE (by Dennis Thompson Jr.)

People who were sexually abused as children may have issues with sexual dysfunction and self-destructive behavior when they get older. Sexual abuse leaves many scars, creating feelings of guilt, anger, and fear that haunt survivors throughout their lives. Adults who have undergone sexual abuse as children commonly experience depression and insomnia. High levels of anxiety in these adults can result in self-destructive behaviors, such as alcoholism or drug abuse, anxiety attacks, and situation-specific anxiety disorders. The damage extends to the sexual abuse survivor's sense of their own sexuality. Many survivors also have trouble pursuing adult relationships and enjoying sex as an adult. The abuse can color a person's sexuality, preventing the survivor from pursuing a healthy sex life with a loving partner. Sexual Abuse and Sexual Behaviors In general, childhood sexual abuse survivors tend to either pursue sex recklessly as adults or to forgo sex completely, says Stephen L. Braveman, MA, a licensed marriage and family therapist in Monterey, Calif., and the western regional representative of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists. "They typically wind up with splitting behavior, where things become very black and white," he says. "Either they are very sexually active, or they shut down sexually." www.everydayhealth.com

SWEET DREAMS 4 -My fourth Entrie

Monday, July 6, 2009 Sweet Dreams 4 I remember back in June of 94,I was married to my 2nd abusive husband and pregnant with my now 14 year old son.Nicole Brown Simpson had been murdered. This sent a real chill down my spine.I can remember thinking, now her kids are left without a mother..But,I still remained in my abusive marriage for a little while longer. However,I did separate from him before my son was born.Of course this was not our first seperation.....ya,know the victim most always goes back to her abuser..You know the drill...'I'M Sorry' it won't happen again...Anyway on to Clue #3 CONTROLLING BEHAVIOR...The abuser wants to know your every move...if you arrive home late from an appointment or work, the abuser will become angry and accuse you of seeing someone else. The abuser at this point is very irrational.Trying to defend your actions or trying to reason with the abuser at this point can be very exhausting, to say the least. The abuser will want to control everything from what you wear,to where you go, to whom you talk too.Are you starting to wake up?Well,THERE'S EVEN MORE...AND IT GETS MORE SERIOUS AS WE GO ALONG...

SWEET DREAMS-THREE'S A CROWD

I can remember having the very misguided feeling of being special and ooh so loved, because my husband was so insanely jealous.I was foolish and naive enough to think that this was cute.I was 17,the first time I got married...of course,it was against my adopted parents better judgement. But,you already know...that of course, I did not listen to them.So many women feel unrealistically flattered by the potential abusers jealousy.WAKE UP! You are headed in a DANGER ZONE! I must also mention that,I have suffered from depression my whole life..So,of course this added to my insecurities and acceptance of allowing myself to be a victim time and time again for years..I must say when my 21 yr. old daughter started dating her soon to be abuser..I could do something that,I could not do each time I met one of my future abusers..It was if I had some kind of a built in radar..something that I did not have concerning my abusive relationships. He may as well have been wearing a label because I could see right through him.He absolutely, terrified me.I tried over and over again to warn my daughter to no avail. She stayed in the relationship.I could tell exactly when she was starting to see the REAL person that she too quickly became involved with..Which brings me to #2)QUICK INVOLVEMENT! That Worldwind Wanna Be Romance. The potential abuser comes on strong "You are the only one for me" or "you are the only person that I can trust or talk to"..Many abusers propose in less than six months.Potential abusers will often put pressure on their victims for commitment...to the point that the victim may feel guilty if they want to slow down the relationship. This is yet another important clue..PAY ATTENTION! If these two very important clues are not enough Believe me THERE ARE MORE!

MY SECOND SWEET DREAMS ENTRY

Sunday, July 5, 2009 Sweet Dreams Too First,I would like to say the feelings of hopelessness and just sheer low self esteem can cause a woman to feel so worthless, that she feels somehow it is her fault that her partner is abusive to her. These feelings are Totally Untrue. Please,Please do not listen to these negative feelings. If you have a trusted family member or friend..Please confide in them and let them be a strong source of support. You CAN NOT CHANGE HIM! You are waisting valuable time,if you try.I know that I felt for years, like it was my fault..I thought 'It must be my fault,if I keep attracting these kinds of guys".If you do not have a friend or family member, talk to your family doctor. If this is not an option call 1-800-559-safe.I know that a lot of women stay in the relationship because of finances and their children or both.Especially today,in these hard economic times. It can be difficult. But,your life is priceless..just remember that.If you have young children, they desperately need you.For those of you that would like to know what to look for, as far as WARNING SIGNS..TO VIOLENT ABUSIVE BEHAVIOR..# 1)EXTREME JEALOUSY! He will tell you especially in the beginning of your relationship, that his jealousy is because he loves you so much..you are the best thing that has ever happened to him.He doesn't want lose you.WATCH OUT!

SWEET DREAMS (The beginning of this blog)

This blog is dedicated to women survivors of domestic violence.I was a victim of domestic violence for years. It is behind me now but,it recently touched my 21 year old daughter's life. All of the signs were there and I saw them and I desperately tried to warn her about them. But,of course she would not listen to me.Her ex-boyfriend recently set our house on fire as we were sleeping. The Lord awoke my daughter in time for her to alert us all(my husband & my two teenaged sons)we were able to escape without harm and our house was not very badly damaged.I have since installed a home security system. We all are still terrified because he was never arrested for the aggravated arson. The police did not have prove that he did it.Even though he posted a photo of himself, posing with a lighter burning,on a social network. My daughter has a 2yr. protection order against him.He violated it with telephone calls,he was arrested for this and he does have to go to court for it.In my blog I will list telltale signs of a potentially abusive person.I hope that I can help someone out there avoid becoming a victim of domestic violence.

On Tuesday Morning November 16th,my husband and I awoke to the startling news of two inmates escaping from the Peoria County Jail sometime between Monday 8:00pm and Tuesday 6:30am. James Fuller 44 and Aaron Cook 28 had managed to escape from the roof. The two had tied sheets together to lower themselves from the rooftop of the jail.(it was like something out of a movie) Fuller had been digging his escape thru the roof for well over a year.Aaron Cook had been in jail since March for breaking the arm of a 3 year old girl.James Fuller an unemployed felon, already convicted of armed robbery and rape was accused of attacking the same woman twice(I & my husband remember reading about the attack in our local newspaper)He is described as a very scary character.Police warned the public that Fuller is to be CONSIDERED DANGEROUS.But,what really made this very scary for me personally, was the fact that he was tracked down to the very neighborhood in which I live.Aaron Cook was captured several hours after the two escaped. He was found hiding in the basement of a residence and two people were arrested for obstructing justice. But,Fuller was still at large.Just blocks away,Fuller broke into a resident's home, tied him up and robbed him, taking a vehicle and a cell phone.Around 7:00 pm he reportedly left the stolen vehicle in a High School parking lot(he was in my area now). The police tracked the cell phone to an area that is like 2 blocks from my house! I was a paranoid mess and I can imagine the fear his victims must have felt upon the news of his escape. He was out there somewhere the entire night.Police finally captured him in a vacant house, where he reportedly surrendered without a struggle(he had left my area). It is reported that Serial Rapist James Fuller 6'3 and 225 lbs. was a patient at Zellers Mental Health Center(now closed down) 20 years ago, when he overpowered a worker and escaped(he was 24 yrs. old) he was at large for 5 days.He was a sixteen year old basketball star when he was first charged with rape,it is reported. But,thanks to the Peoria Police Department and local authority's James Fuller Serial Rapist and Man Of Terror is back behind bars!
