LOS ANGELES -- A teenager who tried to rape a housekeeper in Hancock park was behind bars Sunday, according to police.
Authorities say 19 year old John Christopher Munoz allegedly broke into the second story of the house in the 100 block of South Van Ness Avenue on Friday afternoon by scaling a wall, climbing onto the garage roof, and climbing onto a balcony.
Police say Munoz then entered a second story room where he tried to sexually assault a 56 year old woman working as a maid in the residence.
The woman fought the man off, and he fled on foot.
Police passed out fliers with a sketch of the suspect in the area and used a helicopter to search for him. Two patrol officers spotted Munoz Saturday afternoon.
Munoz was booked on suspicion of attempted rape and burglary and is being held at Parker Center Jail in lieu of $375,000 bail--http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/

ELDERLY COUPLE HOSPITALIZED-AN APPARENT MURDER-SUICIDE ATTEMPT...
Bradley police are calling a Sunday morning shooting in Bradley that left two elderly residents hospitalized a murder-suicide attempt.
The couple, Bobbie B. Karr, 86, and Dorothy J. Karr, 84, both suffered gun shot wounds to the head after Bradley police and the Bradley Fire Department responded to a 911 call at their residence, located at 644 Juniper Lane. The shooting occurred as a police officer walked out of the residence to meet with ambulance personnel.
The couple was airlifted to undisclosed hospitals in Chicago.
Steve Coy, Bradley Police Chief, said an officer was responding to a 911 call Dorothy had apparently made at around 10:20 a.m. complaining of back pain. When the ambulance arrived, the officer went outside to direct firefighters into the house, and then heard the gunshots.
Police found Dorothy on a couch with a gun shot wound to the head. In a bathroom, Bobbie was lying on the floor, also with a gunshot wound to the head. Both are still alive, but their condition was unknown as of Sunday afternoon, Coy said.
No charges have yet been filed, Coy said.
Neighbors and police officials believe Dorothy had previously attempted suicide about six years ago, but do not have specific details about that incident. One neighbor, John Arends, whose house shares a fence with the Karr residence, said Bobbie recently told him, "She's not really satisfied with anything that's going on." (Kankakee Daily Journal)

Officer accused of molesting girl when she was 17
A lawsuit by a woman who says she was molested by a cop went to trial Friday with the victim's lawyer saying she can't shake the nightmare four years later.
But a lawyer for the city pooh-poohed the trauma and suggested Ronessa Hollingsworth, 21, is exaggerating the emotional damage she suffered
Hollingsworth was an innocent 17-year-old when two cops stopped her in Brooklyn and took her home, her lawyer said.
Officer Andrew Johnson later returned, threatened her with a gun and molested her - until her mother came home from work early, she contends.
"She was a pretty, innocent girl. She was very shy and reserved girl at that time," her lawyer, Seth Harris, said during opening arguments in Brooklyn Supreme Court.
"The bruises and scars and injuries that she has suffered are on the inside, in her soul...something she lives with every day." Johnson pleaded guilty to official misconduct in the criminal case. He never showed up to answer the lawsuit and a judgment was issued against him
The jury is hearing Hollingsworth's suit against the city and Johnson's partner, Officer Donald Nelson, who was suspended but has since returned to the force.

MAN CHARGED WITH KILLING STRAY DOG (I posted this story because I found it rather cruel & unusual)
Lake County prosecutors have filed new charges against a man accused of fatally shooting a stray dog after authorities confiscated nearly two dozen weapons and several thousand rounds of ammunition.
On top of a felony charge of aggravated cruelty to animals, Elvin Dooley, 57, has been charged with unlawful possession of weapons by a felon and misdemeanor possession of a firearm with a firearms owner identification card, said Lake County Sheriff's police Sgt. Scott Morrison.
Dooley, of unincorporated Lake County, remains in Lake County jail in lieu of $400,000 bond that was set today. He was arrested Friday.
Dooley, whom authorities say has been cooperating in the investigation, gave sheriff's police investigators written permission to search his home, Morrison said. Police confiscated 21 firearms and 6,000 rounds of ammunition.
Dana Deutsch, manager of Save-a-Pet animal shelter near Grayslake, said she found the fatally wounded dog, a terrier mix, after seeing a man aim a rifle and fire at the animal.
Employees from Save-a-Pet had been trying since dawn Tuesday to catch the black dog they believe had been dumped in their parking lot overnight by its owner.
They followed the animal, who had been darting across busy roads, tried to lure it with food and set out a trap provided by Lake County Animal Control.
Deutsch spotted the dog in a field about a mile from the shelter about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. She thought she had a chance to catch it.
Instead, she said, she saw a man inside a nearby home raise a gun and point the scope in the direction of the animal. Then she heard a gunshot. After confronting the man -- who she said "seemed to have a smile on his face" and denied he was aiming for the dog -- Deutsch called police.---http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/

5th Grader hanged himself, family sues school district...
The family of a fifth-grader found hanging in the bathroom of his north suburban elementary school a year ago filed a wrongful death lawsuit Friday against the school district.
Angel Marshall contends that Evanston Skokie School District 65 had the responsibility for her son’s safety and well-being during school hours, according to a release from Power Rodgers & Smith, the law firm representing the family.
Ten-year-old Aquan Lewis of 8614 Trumbull Ave. in Skokie was found hanging from a hook on the inside of a bathroom stall door on Feb. 3, 2009, at Oakton Elementary School in Evanston, where he was a student.
Paramedics resuscitated Aquan, who was taken to St. Francis Hospital across the street from the school. He was later transferred to Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago, where he was pronounced dead on Feb. 4.
An autopsy by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office determined Aquan died of hanging and ruled his death a suicide.
The lawsuit alleges that no effort was made to locate Aquan after he went missing as students were lining up to go to gym class about 2:30 p.m. He was found about 30 minutes later by a student.
Todd A. Smith, the family’s attorney, said Friday that multiple pieces of physical evidence, including blood stains and vomit found in the bathroom, had not been analyzed prior to a Feb. 17, 2009 press conference at which Evanston police and school district officials announced all physical evidence had been analyzed.
The suit claims that Aquan was bleeding from his nose when he was found and that blood was found on the floor below him and around a nearby window.---http://www.suntimes.com/

SWEET DREAMS-Trying to find closure...
Well, the investigation into my sons case has come to an end.The Coroner called me early this morning and informed me,that some questions concerning my son's death perhaps will never be answered. He said there was a very thorough and complete police/forensic investigation into my sons death. His findings were Hypothermia stages 1 & 2.He said that exact cause of death were unknown. My son was with a friend and they had went out to purchase more beer & cigarettes. The friend left my son sitting on a stomp, while he went into a gas station to make the purchase. He said that when he returned my son was gone. This of course does not answer a lot of unexplained questions still. Why did he have my son's coat? Indeed, how long was he(the friend) inside the gas station? I guess that my family and I have to accept the fact that we will never know the answer to these questions.I don't know if his wife (my sons) threw him out of the house that night or not. From what I've been told she made this a regular routine to throw my son out of their home. The Coroner seemed very sincere and concerned during our conversation. All of the waiting and not knowing, has been like walking around with an open wound and having someone repeatedly poke your wound. Now, my family and I have to try and start the healing process.I imagine that it's going to take quite some time......
MAN CRITICAL AFTER BEING STABBED BY SON....
SUN-TIMES MEDIA WIRE
A northwest suburban Elgin man remained in critical condition Thursday after he allegedly was stabbed by his son during an altercation at a residence on the city's east side late Wednesday night.
Elgin police Detective Christopher Hughes said officers were called to the scene -- in the 700 block of Jefferson Avenue -- around 11:30 p.m.
He said the victim, whose name has not been released, was severely injured after being stabbed once. He was being treated at Sherman Hospital Thursday night.
"I would definitely say it is more serious than a domestic dispute," Hughes said. "But it stemmed from a domestic argument."
Hughes said the son was in custody, with charges pending against him.---http://www.suntimes.com/

JOLIET -- An autopsy Wednesday failed to reveal what killed a 19-year-old found frozen Monday in a ditch
Erich E. Alley of Braidwood was reported missing Jan. 2 by his father, Steven Alley. He had not seen his son since Dec. 30, when Erich left with friends he had met earlier that evening in the parking lot of Berkot's Super Foods.
The friends came to the Alleys' home on South Francis Street and only stayed about 20 minutes.
Erich's body was discovered by a walker before noon Monday in a ditch near the intersection of Bergera Road and Stacey Court. The Will County Coroner's office pronounced him dead on the scene at 11:46 a.m.
Will County Coroner Patrick O'Neil said it should be noted that his body did show signs of early exposure to the cold.
"There were no signs of trauma found," O'Neil said.
A cause of death won't be known until after the results of a toxicology screen are complete.--http://www.heraldnews.com/

MURDER VICTIM'S HEART & LUNGS RIPPED FROM CHEST....
A Queens murder took a macabre turn Wednesday as cops revealed they are searching for a heart and lungs carved from the victim.
The accused killer, Huang Chen, is in custody - but what he did with Qian Wu's organs after the vicious slaying is a mystery, police said.
"The victim's heart and lungs were ripped from the body and apparently have not been recovered," NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said.
Wu, 46, was bashed with a hammer and knifed as she returned home with a gallon of milk on Tuesday evening, sources said.
Chen, 47, was charged with murder, stalking, weapons possession and tampering with physical evidence. An undocumented Chinese immigrant, Chen had been tormenting Wu for years, apparently because the employment agency she ran with her husband couldn't find him work.
"For whatever reason, he felt slighted," Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said Wednesday. "And he went back and began this series of harassment, basically threats."
After he choked and punched Wu in 2006, he was sent to El Paso, Tex., for deportation proceedings. Instead of throwing Chen out of the country, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement put him on supervised release, a source said.
He returned to New York last week and confronted Wu, who had numerous court-issued orders of protection against him.
Wu's grief-stricken husband, Yung Wei Guo, said he gave the loon $200, telling him: "My wife is scared of you. Don't come again."
The couple reported Chen's menacing return to the 109th Precinct, filing a harassment complaint Friday.
But the intimidation campaign came to a grisly end about 5 p.m. Tuesday after Chen followed Wu from a store to her building on 40th Road in Flushing.
He followed her inside and, as she opened her apartment door, hit her with the hammer 18 times and stabbed her over and over.

MAN ACCUSED OF THROWING HIS 4 YR. OLD DAUGHTER OFF CLIFF OVER CHILD SUPPORT ISSUES....
A judge refused today to dismiss murder charges against a man accused of tossing his 4-year-old daughter off a Rancho Palos Verdes cliff.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor also refused to set bail for Cameron John Brown, who has been in jail for more than six years.
Two juries have failed to reach a verdict in the case.
"I believe there should be a third trial in this case, and there will be,"
Pastor's ruling came after Brown's attorney, Pat Harris, argued that the jury's deadlock of six in favor of second-degree murder and six for involuntary manslaughter meant Brown was acquitted of first-degree murder.
Harris, who indicated his firm Geragos & Geragos will likely not remain for the third trial, also argued that "basic fairness" dictates the dismissal for his client.
But Deputy District Attorney Craig Hum countered that there was no verdict, and even submitted declarations from six panelists that indicated such, and that one of them actually favored first-degree
murder. Hum argued that, as far as fairness goes, it wasn't fair that he murdered 4-year-old Lauren Sarene Key, his daughter, over child support.
Lauren died after going over a Rancho Palos Verdes cliff on Nov. 8, 2000. Prosecutors believe Brown threw or pushed her while the defense claims she slipped by accident. Two juries were unable to decide if he was guilty of first-degree murder, second-degree murder or involuntary manslaughter.
Harris said today's rulings will be appealed.----http://www.dailybreeze.com/

Rogersville Fire Chief David Jackson said 75-year-old Elizabeth Allred was lucky that the 10-foot-wide boulder didn't hit her bed straight on, instead crashing nearby and causing her hospital bed to roll across the room.
She was at home recovering from a broken hip when the accident occurred Monday morning.
Jackson said the boulder broke loose from a bank above the apartment during recent rains. The Kingsport Times-News reported that Allred told Jackson it felt like a train crashed into her room. She was listed in good condition at the hospital on Tuesday---http://www.newschannel5.com/

MAN SCAMS WIDOW OUT OF $225,000 (they met on a dating site)
Donald Dayton Lukens pleaded not guilty today to charges that he scammed $225,000 from a Wilmette widow.
Lukens, 58, was indicted earlier this month on two charges of felony theft and four counts of forgery.
Authorities say Lukens met Marietta Egen, 52, on a dating site in July 2006. He told her he would "triple" the money she invested after her husband's death. Instead, he used the money for his own use, according to investigators.
Lukens had been accused in 2001 of defrauding more than 100 investors, many of them professional athletes and celebrities, of more than $25 million in California.
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in September 2002 ordered Lukens to repay $4.7 million to his former clients and barred him from acting as a financial investment adviser. The FBI investigated him for years but never filed criminal charges, according to news reports.
The SEC found that Lukens had used several tactics to steal money, including setting up shell companies, and paying earlier investors in a Ponzi-type scheme, according to the SEC complaint.
The SEC is participating in an ongoing investigation by Wilmette police, Detective Solveig Sullivan said.
Lukens remains out on bond but is confined to his home, except to see his lawyer and work out at a gym from 3 p.m. to 6 pm.
If convicted, Lukens faces 4 to 15 years in prison.---http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/

PEORIA — Defiant to the end, James Fuller told a Peoria County judge he wouldn't beg for mercy nor show remorse for a series of sexual assaults that he claims he didn't commit.
But that didn't change a thing as Fuller, 44, was sentenced to life in prison without parole. It was a foregone conclusion that was the outcome of Tuesday's hearing as Fuller's past criminal history, which includes a 1981 rape conviction from Kansas and two prior armed robbery convictions, was enough for him to be labeled a "habitual criminal" under state law.
All it took was for Peoria County Judge Michael Brandt to rule the certified copies of conviction were legitimate, mandating life sentences on charges of home invasion and criminal sexual assault for the June 3, 2006, incident.
The hearing had little in the way of theatrics, unlike Fuller's trial last month, where he complained about "devils" and how his attorney was conspiring against him. He was frequently absent from the courtroom because he refused to participate or being removed because of repeated outbursts.http://www.pjstar.com/

Cambridge —
A man who attacked a woman with a frying pan in his Cambridge home was arrested on Jan. 21, according to a police report.
The 62-year-old Cambridge victim told police the suspect allegedly came towards her threateningly, a raised frying pan in his hand, causing her to “duck and back away.” She said she believed he was going to strike her with the pan and called police.
The defendant told police he was cooking soup in the kitchen when the victim came in “like a hungry vulture.” All she does is “talk, talk, talk,” he added. He said they argued and she called him names so he lost his cool. He denied going after her with a frying pan. He also reportedly complained “she has time for everything in the world but me.”
Swarn J. Singh, 70, of Cambridge was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon. The pan was tagged as evidence.http://www.cambridgechronicle.com/

19 YEAR OLD SHOT AND KILLED AS HE WALKED HIS DOG.....(very tragic and sad)
Pharley Petigny, 19, was walking his beloved pit bull-Rottweiler mix, Jay, along Beverley Road near E. 31st St. in Flatbush about 7 p.m. when a single gunshot struck him in the head, cops said.
Mortally wounded, Petigny staggered down Beverley Road for about four blocks before collapsing near E.34th St., police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The motive behind the murder was unclear last night.
Petigny worked two jobs and attended Kingsborough Community College. He wanted to be a physical therapist, his sister Suseley Petigny, 16, said.
"He was the world's best older brother," she said, kissing a picture of Pharley pasted to a streetlight in a makeshift shrine at the death site last night.
She said her brother's last words to her were, "Yo, Sue, I'll be back, I'm going to walk the dog" before leaving on his fatal errand.
Petigny's body, covered by a sheet, remained on the sidewalk.
His father begged police to let him take one last look at his son. His mother, the school safety officer, sobbed on the steps outside her home.
"Tell me why? What did we do wrong?" she wailed.

CHILD MOLESTER GOING TO TRIAL ON SEXUAL ABUSE CHARGES,HE REPORTLY ABUSED GIRLS AGED 7,9 AND 11....
LACON — A Sparland man who had been scheduled to go to trial Monday in Marshall County on five child-molesting charges chose to take a plea bargain instead.
Mark A. Hankins, 42, pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. He admitted sexual conduct with girls aged 7, 9, and 11, separately and on different occasions during the past 18 months.
His plea also eliminated the possibility that his trial might delay the beginning of a specially scheduled murder trial on Thursday in a courthouse with only one courtroom.
Under a partially negotiated plea agreement, Hankins will face a sentence of at least three years in prison and a maximum of seven years when he is sentenced on March 16 by Circuit Judge Scott Shore. The agreement excluded the chance of probation that normally would be an option for Hankins' Class 2 felonies, said defense attorney Christopher McCall.
But the agreement also spared him the risk of a possible 30-year sentence on the more serious charge of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child. Two counts of that offense were dismissed.
A 6-year-old brother of the youngest victim witnessed Hankins molesting her in October, State's Attorney Paul Bauer said in court. His conduct with the other girls occurred in June 2009 and June 2008.
Bauer had said Friday that Hankins' trial could delay Thursday's scheduled start of Tony Smith's murder trial, but he and McCall said the plea had been worked out after that. Two unrelated misdemeanor cases set for possible trial Tuesday or Wednesday will not interfere with the murder trial, Bauer said.---http://www.pjstar.com/

Mom charged after 2 kids left in home with no electricity
January 25, 2010 4:26 PM
A 28-year-old single mother from Wheaton was charged today with criminal neglect of a disabled person and endangering the life of a child after her two young daughters were found unattended in a "roach infested" apartment by police in the middle of the night, authorities said.
Arezou Khamiss, 28, of the 1300 block of North Main Street, had her bail set at $30,000 today by DuPage County Judge Liam Brennan.
Assistant State's Attorney Mary Cronin told Brennan that a neighbor of Khamiss' heard a child crying at 3 a.m. Monday and asked for a well-being check at the home. Cronin said Wheaton police found a 16-month-old child crying and a 9-year-old "profoundly disabled" child alone in the home. The 9-year-old was "unable to communicate," Cronin said.
According to Cronin, when Khamiss came home, she told police she was gone for only 20 minutes, but police said they were aware of her not being home for at least two hours.
"The officer said the apartment had no electricity and that there were roaches all over the place," said Cronin, who didn't say where police believe Khamiss was when she was not at the apartment.
The two girls were not injured, but were checked out at a local hospital and then placed in the custody of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
Khamiss told Brennan that she was a divorced single mother studying computer technology. If convicted, she faces up to five years in prison.---http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/

MAN WITH SWORD SHOT IN CHEST BY POLICE AFTER DOMESTIC DISPUTE...
BY CAROLINE KYUNGAE SMITH Staff Reporter
A domestic dispute escalated to a barricade situation Sunday, which resulted in police shooting and killing a man who came at them with a sword.
Arturas Kolgavas, 39, of the 3200 block of W. Parkway Drive in unincorporated Glenview was pronounced dead at 9 p.m. Sunday at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, according to a Cook County Medical Examiners office spokesman.

This man is a cold blooded murderer,he reportly slept in the apt.,after he committed the gruesome murders...
Follow-up-(Man kills girlfriend & her two young daughter's)
After allegedly killing Ybe and her children by two other men, Ruiz went to sleep - his own kids still in the blood-splattered apartment. The next day, he dropped off the 7-month-old boy and girl in the Bronx and then went back to East Flatbush to begin cleaning up and figuring out how to ditch the bodies.
Ruiz later told a relative what he had done - and they called cops, who sent two detectives to the apartment.
When cops arrived, they found Ybe partially wrapped in plastic bags. The two little girls were rolled up in a carpet with plastic bags on each end.
The father of the toddler has been notified, but the father of the 5-year-old is unknown, police and family said.
Cops said Ruiz has just one arrest on his record, for marijuana, several years ago, but he's known around his neighborhood for dramatic mood swings.
"Sometimes he came in a little crazy," said Geraldo Hernandez, 21, who works at the deli nearby.
"Sometimes he comes in nice and sometimes not nice. When he wasn't nice, he'd boss us around," he said. "He comes in like, 'I want something! I want this!'"

13 YEAR OLD BROTHER ACCIDENTLY SHOOTS HIS 8 YR. OLD SISTER....
An 8-year-old girl is in “stable” condition after police say her 13-year-old brother accidentally shot her in the face in north suburban Niles Sunday afternoon.
Emergency crews responded to the 8600 block of North Oketo Avenue about 3:40 p.m. and found the girl had been struck by a bullet in the cheek that “exited out the other side of her face,” according to a press release from Niles Police.
The siblings were playing in the basement of their home with toy guns when the brother accidentally shot his sister with a .25 caliber semi-automatic pistol, the release said.
The gun is believed to have been taken from a relative’s home in Chicago without the family’s knowledge, the release said.
The parents and other family members were home at the time of the shooting, and the father has said he did not know about the gun.
The girl was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge in “stable” condition. She was conscious and speaking to officers at the scene and hospital, the release said.

A BROOKLYN MAN KILLS HIS GIRLFRIEND & HER TWO DAUGHTER'S
(THIS STORY IS LIKE A HORRIFIC MOVIE SCRIPT,TOTALLY UNREAL)
A Brooklyn man went on a rampage, murdering his girlfriend and her two young daughters in a stabbing frenzy that left blood dripping into the apartment below, cops and neighbors said yesterday.
When police arrived at the East Flatbush home, they found a horror show - the corpse of a 22-year-old woman wrapped in plastic bags and the bodies of two girls, ages 2 and 5, rolled in a carpet.
Jermaine Ruiz, 24, was preparing to hide the bodies in a Dumpster when cops arrived.
He confessed to killing all three, cops said, and charges were pending.
A neighbor told the Daily News that Ruiz had asked the super Thursday where to find a Dumpster that would hold a large amount of trash.
"It's heavy and it will smell," Ruiz said, according to the neighbor.
Police, who are still searching for the murder weapon, said the crime scene was grisly.
"There was a lot of blood in the apartment," NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said. "It was in complete disarray."
The crime was uncovered after Ruiz called his father in the Bronx and told him what he had done, cops said.
The father alerted police, and two detectives went to the Rogers Ave. apartment building.
When the suspect opened the door, cops saw the body of his girlfriend, Jessica Ybe, partially covered with plastic bags. Inside, cops spotted the rolled-up carpet with plastic bags covering both ends.
When they opened it up, the two little girls were inside.

SWEET DREAMS-UPDATE
Well, it's been almost a month since I lost my son.It still hurts like hell and I still don't have any answers as to what happened to him.The Coroner has not returned any of my recent phone calls. My oldest daughter did speak with him once,a few days ago and he told her that the Forensic results wouldn't be available until next week.I contacted the Attorney General's Office and they did respond with a phone call today.I am to let them know whether or not the Coroner comes through on Monday with the results of my son's tests/cause of death. You can't begin to heal without knowing what happened. There are so many rumors.I just don't know what to believe. So,many things just don't make any sense.I really can't bear to visit my Facebook page.I have been on a few times but, It's just too painful because he and I use to talk on Facebook.I loved him so much.I hope and pray that he knew that. That lady that was stabbed over 30 times on tuesday night by her husband here in Peoria,I use to see her on the city bus.She would sit up front and chat with the bus driver. She seemed nice. The newspaper stated that she had no family and she has 3 kids with her husband. How can a man murder a woman in front of her child/children? An abusive and violent man does not care. It's ALL ABOUT HIM.I despise abuse and abusive behavior. This guy was locked up for attempted murder and other violent behavior and they still let him out and now he's finally committed murder and left 3 kids without a Mom.It just doesn't make any sense.Well,it's time for me to lay down and stare at the TV until I drift off.Everyone be safe and if you are in an abusive relationship, please, please get out safely! Turn to someone that you can trust for help.

THIRD PERSON CHARGED IN JUVENILLE PIMPING OF A 14 YEAR OLD GIRL...
A third Lake in the Hills resident is now facing charges alleging she and two others brought a 14-year-old girl to their home from Kansas and put her to work as a prostitute.
Kari D. Knox, 36, of the 3500 block of Sonoma Circle, was charged Friday with involuntary servitude of a minor and juvenile pimping, felony allegations that could earn her a 30-year prison term if convicted on both counts.
Mary Frake, Chief of Support Services for Lake in the Hills police, said Knox had a role in the "transportation and facilitating meetings" with men who paid to have sex with the girl.
Police arrested Knox's housemates, Donald R. Jones, 52, and Antwanette R. Atkins, 42, on the same charges Thursday, saying they meet the teenager over MySpace, an online social networking site. After several communications, police said, the accused drove out to Kansas last month and brought the girl back to Lake in the Hills, where they sold her for sex beginning Dec. 31.
Jones and Atkins each appeared Friday before a McHenry County judge, who set their bail at $250,000 and $200,000, respectively, and assigned each a public defender. Both remained in custody at the county jail later in the day, unable to post bond. They are set to return to court Jan. 29.

NEW YORK MAN FOUND WITH THROAT SLASHED
A man was found brutally stabbed to death inside his Hell's Kitchen apartment Thursday - and detectives are looking to question his live-in lover.
John Lea's friends first went to his W. 46th St. pad Wednesday after the 41-year-old failed to show up to his job as an event planner with the New York Society of Security Analysts, police said.
Another pal returned Thursday with cops, who scaled a fire escape and broke through a window to gain access to the apartment about 2:30 p.m.
They found a ransacked apartment and a gruesome, blood-soaked crime scene in the bedroom.
Lea, wearing only boxers, was found lying beside his bed, his throat slashed and a massive gash on his head, police sources said.
His body had numerous other stab wounds that indicated he had fought for his life, the sources said.
"The bloody knife was right next to him," one source said.
The killer covered Lea's body with clothes and bedding, and locked the door on the way out - leaving Lea's cat, Oreo, roaming around inside, the sources said

WGN NEWS ANCHOR ADMITS BATTLING ADDICTION....
During a live interview Thursday, WGN’s Allison Payne publicly admitted she has been battling addiction, according to former Sun-Times media columnist Robert Feder's blog.
Payne, 45, has been saying for years that her slurred speech, glassy-eyed gaze and occasionally erratic behavior on the air are due to a series of mini-strokes from which she was recovering.
Even as she took a lengthy leave of absence from Tribune Co.-owned WGN-Channel 9, the veteran news anchor insisted there was nothing more to it.
While interviewing former NHL star and Blackhawks player Theo Fleury, who’s in town to promote his autobiography ‘Playing With Fire,’ Payne disclosed that the two shared the same Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor and revealed the name of their local chapter---http://www.suntimes.com/

PEORIA — The Center for the Prevention of Abuse sees thousands of domestic violence victims annually in the Tri-County Area.
"We see anywhere from 3,000 to 3,500 individuals every year, either people getting orders of protection, coming to our emergency shelter, calling us on the hotline or coming in for counseling or support groups," executive director Martha Herm said Wednesday.
Often, as in the case of Martha Thomas, who was killed Tuesday allegedly by her estranged husband, it takes a long time to pull away from an abuser.
"It happens more often than we would wish," Herm said. "There are many barriers to people getting out of abusive situations. One certainly is financial, and there are many emotional issues - especially if you share children, friends, anything that ties you together. Many times, domestic violence victims are lured back into relationships by the abuser with hope for change.
"We encourage friends and family of people who are in abusive situations to be supportive and help get victims where they can be helped. It is a long journey to live free from violence. Usually these situations don't happen overnight."
Services are available 24 hours a day by calling 691-0551 or (800) 559-7233.http://www.pjstar.com/

FOLLOW-UP -TEXAS MAN ACCUSED OF SHOOTING TO DEATH 5 FAMILY MEMBERS...
BELLVILLE, Texas (AP) — A southeast Texas man was charged Wednesday in the weekend shooting deaths of five family members, including his 2-year-old niece, who also was decapitated.
Maron Thomas, 20, remains jailed on a $1 million bond, accused in the deaths of his mother, stepfather, sister, brother and niece. Police said Thomas was naked when he was caught trying to break into a neighbor's home after the shootings.
"This is one of the most horrific crimes we've had," Austin County District Attorney Travis Koehn said.
Investigators said an ongoing family dispute led to the shootings, but they declined to give additional details.
The five bodies were discovered Sunday afternoon at the family's single-story brick home in Bellville, a rural town of about 4,000 people 55 miles northwest of Houston. Police say the shootings took place early Sunday morning.
Preliminary autopsy reports indicate all five died of gunshot wounds, and the 2-year-old girl was decapitated with a machete. Her head was found near her body, Austin County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Paul Faircloth said.
A shotgun and a handgun found near the scene were both used to kill the family, Texas Ranger David Maxwell said. Authorities would not say how many times each victim was shot.---http://www.dallasnews.com/

CHURCH MUSIC DIRECTOR AND HIS ROOMATE CHARGED WITH CHILD PORN
A Glen Ellyn church music director and his roommate have been charged with possession of child pornography, authorities said today.
Brian Milnikel, 45, music director at St. John the Apostle Roman Catholic School in the western suburb, and Christopher Kontopoulos, 20, both of the 800 block of Nelli Court in Naperville, had bonds of $200,000 and $100,000 respectively set for them this morning by DuPage Judge Liam Brennan.
Assistant States Attorney Brian Perkins told Brennan that Naperville police have been investigating the pair since October.
"They both admitted downloading the videos and that they watched them together," Perkins said.
Milnikel told Brennan that he was the full-time music director at the school and had been a music instructor for over 20 years.
Barry Lewis, an attorney representing Kontopoulos told Brennan that if his client posts bond, he was going to move in with his parents in Glenview.
"Your honor, there is a great likelihood that Chris was under the domination of a much older person," Lewis said.
Brennan, as a condition of bond, banned the defendants' use of the Internet and computer, and ordered them not to have any contact with anyone under 18 years old.

AL SHARPTON'S EX-WIFE & DAUGHTER FACE TRIAL OVER TRAFFIC TICKETS
The Rev. Al Sharpton's daughter and ex-wife face a trial after their November arrests for arguing with police officers over a traffic ticket.
Manhattan Criminal Court Judge James Burke on Tuesday denied a motion to dismiss charges against Dominique Sharpton and her mother, Kathy Jordan.
"It's unfortunate that the court did not dismiss it - it really should have been dismissed," said lawyer Michael Hardy. "If we have to go to trial, we'll go to trial."
The pair got in trouble on Oct. 31, 2009, following a Harlem traffic stop in which they were accused of getting in a verbal tussle with cops after Dominique Sharpton drove through a red light.
Al Sharpton's oldest daughter was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, while his ex-wife was charged with resisting arrest, harassment and obstruction of governmental administration

NY DETECTIVE'S SON SHOT & KILLED NEAR CHILDREN'S PLAYGROUND...
A veteran NYPD detective spoke of his devastation Monday night after his teenage son was shot dead just a few feet away from children playing at a Brooklyn housing project.
Sean Hayes, 19, was struck at least twice in the chest yesterday afternoon steps from a playground at the Marcy Houses in Bedford-Stuyvesant, cops said.
The teen was the son of Detective Sean Lawrence, a 20-year NYPD veteran assigned to the Brooklyn warrant squad.
"We're trying to hold it together," Lawrence, clearly distraught, told the Daily News outside the family home in Rosedale, Queens. "We've got a lot of family here. Everybody will take a piece of my sorrow with them to make it less for me."
He said Sean left behind three sisters, ages 26, 25 and 9.
The gunfire that killed Hayes broke out near the Flushing Ave. playground, forcing kids enjoying the day off from school for Martin Luther King Day to dive for cover. "When I heard the shots I ran," said one 10-year-old boy. "That's what you're supposed to do

TEXAS TOWN RAPIST ON EDERLY WOMEN,HAVE TOWN IN FEAR...
YOAKUM, Texas (AP) — With a serial rapist on the loose, Cassandra McGinty has developed a new routine when she arrives home: search room to room, a handgun or stun gun drawn.
The predator has been assaulting older women in central Texas over the past year, terrifying residents and frustrating investigators who have only a vague description of the suspect.
Pepper spray has been flying off the shelves in the towns where the attacks have occurred, and McGinty said her landlord in Marquez handed out stun guns as Christmas gifts. Nearly 200 miles away in Yoakum, elderly volunteers at the local museum have been locking its doors during business hours.
"I used to think I was too old for anybody to mess with," said McGinty, 55. "I can't say that anymore."
Beginning with the rape of a 65-year-old woman in Yoakum last January, authorities have linked eight sexual assaults or attempted sexual assaults to the suspect, who has been dubbed the "Twilight Rapist" because most of the attacks occurred around dawn. They also believe he robbed or attempted to rob four other women.
The victims have all been women, ranging in age from 65 to 91. One rape victim played piano at her church on Sundays. An 81-year-old woman scared off an intruder with a gun, firing several rounds for good measure. A 66-year-old woman was attacked twice, despite having moved across town following the first assault.

ACCUSED FEMALE MURDERER THROWS URINE IN GUARD'S FACE...EWWWW!
The woman accused of murdering rock 'n' roll Realtor Linda Stein is on lockdown at Rikers after she tossed a liquid in a guard's face, officials said Thursday.
"It smelled like urine," a law enforcement source told the Daily News.
Natavia Lowery, whose murder trial opened Tuesday, and two other female inmates got three months in punitive segregation for the Jan. 2 attack on a female correction officer.
The unidentified guard had her eyes washed and examined and is back at work.
Lowery and the other women, Valeria Vincent, 22, and Denise Gonzalez, 29, were expected to be arraigned on charges of aggravated harassment, and they could face up to four years behind bars.
Lowery is allowed out of segregation to attend her murder trial.
She's charged with bashing Stein - a music producer who became a celebrity real estate agent - with a yoga stick while working as her personal assistant in October 2007.
She faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted.

MAN'S BODY FOUND SUBMURGED IN WATER
Sun-Times Media
A body was in a car found in the water in a ship canal Sunday morning in Lemont.
Fire officials received a call from Lemont police at 6:50 a.m. after police on patrol noticed tracks in the snow leading down to the Sanitary and Ship Canal, according to Lemont Fire Battalion Chief George Ranbo.
Police found a car in the water at 379 River St., Ranbo said.
No foul play is suspected at this time, according to Illinois State Police District Chicago Trooper Michael Bobko, who confirmed a Hyundai was recovered from the scene with a body inside. State police were notified at 7:40 a.m.
Divers found a car fully submerged, resting upside on its roof at the bottom of the 22-foot-deep canal, according to Lemont Fire Battalion Chief James Sheldon.
Initially, divers could not get inside the car and did not see anyone inside, Sheldon said. However as the car was brought to the surface and personnel were able to open a door, personnel found an adult subject, dead on the scene, Sheldon said.
The incident appeared to be "pretty fresh," he said.
The victim was a man in his late 40s, according to a Cook County Medical Examiner's spokesman. The man's identity remained unknown pending family notification, he said.http://www.heraldnews.com/

WOMAN FOUND CRUSHED PILLS IN HER HUSBAND'S BRIEFCASE BEFORE SHE DIED
WACO, Texas (AP) — A woman has testified at her son-in-law's murder trial that her daughter found crushed pills in her husband's briefcase shortly before she died.
Matt Baker is accused of drugging his wife, Kari Baker, and smothering her with a pillow after she fell unconscious. He has denied killing her and says she was despondent over the 1999 death of their daughter, who had a brain tumor.
Kari Baker's mother, Linda Dulin, told jurors Friday that Matt Baker accused his wife of causing the death of their 16-month-old daughter.
Kari Baker's death was initially ruled a suicide but the case reopened after her parents' civil litigation team gave new evidence to authorities.

I cried as I read this story,(their son was missing for more than 20 years and they suspected that the wife was to blame and she was)
SITKA, Alaska -- The arrest this week of a 45-year-old Oswego woman was welcome news to a mother whose son disappeared from Sitka, Alaska, more than 20 years ago.
Reta Coville, who lives in the San Diego area, did not know for years what happened to her son Scott, who moved to Sitka in 1987 to work in commercial fishing and disappeared about a year later.
Jane Limm, of Oswego, married Scott Coville in Sitka in October 1987. She was indicted by a Sitka grand jury last week on charges of first-degree murder and tampering with evidence in the death of Scott Coville, who was 26.
Limm was taken into custody Wednesday outside her apartment in Illinois. She is being held on $250,000 bail.
Alaska State Troopers plan to extradite Limm to Alaska to face charges. Attempts on Saturday to find out whether Limm had a lawyer were unsuccessful.
Reta Coville told the Sitka Sentinel by telephone from her California home that Limm's arrest is like a miracle to her. She said she had long suspected that Limm was either responsible for Scott's death, or knew more than she was saying.
Coville said she had not spoken to Limm in years and she last spoke to her son in March of 1988
Covilles said her son met Limm at La Sierra College in Riverside, Calif. When he decided he needed a break from school, he tried to get a job on a fishing boat, or in a cannery, and headed to Alaska, Coville said.
Limm joined him in Sitka in the summer of 1987, and the two were married there in that October. In February 1988, they returned to San Diego and had a church wedding, Coville said. That was the last time she saw her son.
When Scott first went missing, Coville thought that maybe her son "needed to get away from everybody and think things through."
But she said she and her husband grew suspicious over time when she didn't hear from Limm and she didn't report Scott missing.
"To me, it didn't seem like new-wife behavior, even old-wife behavior," Coville said.
About 12 years ago, Coville and her husband accepted that Scott was dead.
"We finally just decided to let God handle it," she said. "If we're supposed to know, we would know."
A few years ago, Coville said she got a call from Alaska authorities asking if her son had ever surfaced, but she never expected to get word that Limm had been taken into custody. Alaska troopers have said they got a break in the case in the spring of 2007.
So far, they have released very little information about the case.http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/

Two teens were shot on the front stoop of a Brooklyn apartment building Friday, cops and witnesses said.
Courtney Kipinski, 17, and her 15-year-old friend, Romello High, were perched on a stoop on an East New York block at about 5 p.m. when a white male walked up to them and opened fire, police and family said.
"I heard three shots," said Travis Wingate, 38. "I ran down and the boy was sitting on the steps bleeding. His mother was holding him, trying to keep him conscious."
Kipinski was in the hallway of the Wyona St. building, holding paper towels on her wound, he said.
Wingate put both teens in his car and drove them to Brookdale Hospital, where they are both listed in stable condition.
"I don't know why anyone would shoot my daughter," said Kipinski's father, Anthony Rodriguez, 42.
"This gang stuff needs to stop," he said.

Suspicious man seen driving around elementary schoolsAlamogordo Daily News

Alamogordo Department of Public Safety is continuing its investigation of a man who approached a student outside Sierra Elementary School Thursday, an ADPS spokesman said.
Detective Mark Esquero said a white man standing over 5 feet, 11 inches tall, wearing a white long-sleeved shirt with buttons on it, a wide brimmed dark colored cowboy hat and driving a red Toyota full size pickup truck approached the student around 3:30 p.m.
ADPS received a number of calls about a suspicious person driving near a local elementary school around 3:15 p.m. Monday, an ADPS spokesman said.
Detective Israel Trujillo said ADPS officers observed a white 1994 Saturn in the area of the school with Timothy McKearney, 48, allegedly monitoring children in the area.
Trujillo said officers conducted an investigation that revealed McKearney was once registered as a sex offender in Vermont and no longer needed to be registered as a sex offender in New Mexico.
"He has not committed any crime in our jurisdiction at this time," he said on Wednesday. "We've been getting so many calls about it that we wanted to get something out to the public about it."
Esquero said police don't want to make any speculation on the Thursday's incident at this point.
"We have the plate numbers of both vehicles McKearney is driving," he said. "We're keeping an eye on both vehicles when we see them. We have increased officer patrols around school areas."

MAN GETS 60 YEARS FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT
A 35-year-old Bolingbrook man was sentenced today to 60 years in prison for the sexual assault of a woman in Bolingbrook in 2008.
A jury at the Will Couny Court House in Joliet found Ferlimo Morris guilty of one count each of aggravated criminal sexual assault, criminal sexual assault and unlawful restraint. He was sentenced by Will County Circuit Judge Carla Alessio Policandriotes.
Morris was living in the basement of the Bolingbrook house that the victim shared with her boyfriend. The victim's boyfriend had invited Morris to live there temporarily.
On Aug. 30, 2008, while the victim's boyfriend was spending the night away with his children from a previous relationship, Morris returned home after an evening of drinking beer and cognac, according to evidence at the trial. He went to the victim's bedroom, struck her in the face and sexually assaulted her for the next four hours, Will County state's attorney officials said. Throughout the ordeal, he also continued to drink and smoke crack cocaine.
The frightened victim fled the house when Morris left her alone. She pounded on a neighbor's door, and the neighbor called 911 from that house.
Assistant State's Attorneys Matt Guzman and Chris Messina entered into evidence at trial a tape of the frantic 911 call made by the victim's neighbor as well as DNA evidence implicating Morris. DNA tests showed that the victim bled on Morris' shirt after he struck her in the face, state's attorney officials said.
"Ferlimo Morris committed an act of unspeakable brutality against a woman who should have been safe inside her own home," Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow said. "Thanks to a first-rate investigation by the Bolingbrook Police Department and excellent trial work by my two prosecutors, this vicious thug likely will spend the rest of his days in prison."http://www.heraldnews.com/

15 YEAR OLD BOY HELD ON ASSAULT CHARGES IN STABBING OF 12 YEAR OLD BOY...(this is sad, very sad)
A Brooklyn teen was charged with attempted murder Monday for the vicious stabbing of a 12-year-old friend in a Queens park.
Wayne Henderson, 15, was ordered held on a $250,000 bond following his arraignment in Queens Supreme Court on second-degree attempted murder and first-degree assault charges. Henderson, of East New York, faces up to 10 years in prison as a juvenile offender.
Queens prosecutors say Henderson repeatedly stabbed Luis Martinez in the face, neck, chest, hands and back during the Saturday night attack. Prosecutors believe Henderson used either a knife or a blade.
Martinez staggered out of Highland Park bleeding and flagged down a motorist for help.
"Unarmed, the victim suffered more than a dozen stab wounds to his upper body, including defensive wounds to both hands, as the defendant allegedly attacked him," said Queens District Attorney Richard Brown.
Investigators say Henderson and Martinez sneaked off to smoke pot in the park with Henderson's 14-year-old girlfriend. They say the fight started around 9:30 p.m. when Henderson accused Martinez of getting him into trouble the last time they smoked pot together.
Doctors performed reconstructive surgery on both of Martinez's jugular veins. He was listed in serious condition at Manhattan's New York-Presbyterian Hospital Columbia.

SWEET DREAMS-GOODNIGHT
It's time for me to lay down and try to get some sleep.I really do hate bedtime because I can't turn off my thoughts.I toss and turn, stare at the walls, stare at our muted television, listen to the loud ticking of our clock.I go over and over all of the what if's. I think about my son lying out in the snow alone and I just break down and sob.Why did this happen to my sweet child? Why? And the lowlife that did this is somewhere still out there no doubt, without a care in the world.Well, tomorrow I get up and get right back to my search for answers. Please Jehovah God,give me the strength and guidance that I need to get through this......Everyone please be safe and keep your children close.
BUS DRIVER CHARGED FOR SEXUALLY ATTACKING A 17 YEAR OLD GIRL,WHO WAS THE LAST STUDENT ON HIS BUS
Bus driver charged in sex attack on teen student
January 13, 2010 1:30 PM
A Near West Side school bus driver is charged in a sex attack on a high school girl who was the last student on his bus one day last spring, authorities aid.
Antonio Ross, 26, of the 900 block of West Madison Street, appeared before Cook County Criminal Court Judge Israel Disierto today and was ordered held on $50,000 bail in the attack on the 17-year-old girl on March 24 of last year. Ross works for Jewel's Bus Co., and appeared in court wearing his blue company jacket, with his name over the right side of his chest
Ross was arrested and charged in the case yesterday, police said; he already was free on $50,000 bond in a related case in which he is alleged to have tried to intimidate the victim of the attack.
Last September, Jewel's Bus Co. was sued by the family of a 5-year-old boy after another one of its bus drivers was charged with kidnapping. The family accused the driver, Willie Bledsoe, of sexually assaulting the boy.
The victim in the case against Ross was a student at a private South Side alternative school, and was being driven home when she ended up being the last person on the bus other than the driver Ross, said Assistant State's Attorney William Hall.
Ross pulled the vehicle over, parked and took the girl to the back of the bus, where he fondled her and ordered her to perform a sex act on him, Hall said. The attack took place in the 8200 block of South Luella Avenue, according to police.
Ross then drove the girl home, Hall said. The victim immediately reported the attack.
Since then, Ross is alleged to have gone to the girl's home three times to try to intimidate her, Hall said. In at least one of those instances, Ross pounded on the door and yelled at her, asking why she called the police, according to the prosecutor.
In the most recent incident, Ross is alleged to have grabbed her by the arm, restrained her and threated to beat her up, Hall said.
Ross is scheduled to appear in court on the criminal sexual assault charge again on Feb 2.

SWEET DREAMS-THE BULLCRAP IS NEVERENDING
I'm really starting to doubt that justice will be served in my son's death.I spoke with the Coroner today and ALL that he had to say to me was "I don't have the doctor's report yet, check back with me tomorrow or Friday".But,I've learned that he also spoke with my son's wife and told her that he THINKS that my son died from the alcohol he drank.Since when does a Coroner relay to a victim's family what he thinks??? He is a professional, that gathers the facts and clues before determining the cause of death. He is NOT suppose to assume or state that HE THINKS this is the cause. He would not tell me ANYTHING. Even if this were true,of which I doubt with everything in me,there are still too many UNANSWERED questions.Where are his missing clothes??? How did he end up on that particular NONPEDESTRIAN road? This road was leading in the OPPOSITE DIRECTION of his home.It sounds as if the authorities back there are trying to sweep this quietly under the rug.I have not heard one thing that has made sense to me yet.I am so angry and outraged at the way this case is being handled. It is WRONG! My son was a human being and I feel as if he is being discarded like trash.Something happened to him and it is NOT what the authorities are saying.Someone,Somewhere back there knows what happened to him and they need to come foward. My son's willingness to trust and to help people probably cost him his life. From what I've heard about the abuse that he suffered at home, anything's possible.................

Donald Holliday, 53, was stabbed a dozen times in the chest, slashed across his throat and then left to die inside his 14th-floor apartment in the Marble Hill Houses, police said.
Investigators believe the killer then set the apartment on fire at 9:20 a.m. to cover up the crime, police said.
"It's sad because this is a relatively nice neighborhood," said resident Eileen Henderson, 43, who said Holliday rarely spoke with his neighbors.
"He's a loner," she said.
Detectives were not certain why Holliday - who had a minor criminal record - was targeted for such a brutal death.
Bloodstains were found in a stairwell, leading investigators to speculate that he was jumped there and then dragged into his apartment.
It was not clear if anything was taken from the apartment. Cops were reviewing surveillance video at the high-rise building, where residents were shaken by the killing.
"It's scary," said Emerald Kennedy, 23, who lives two doors from Holliday's apartment. "It just goes to show how short life is," she said.

CHICAGO POLICE OFFICER ARRESTED AFTER SHOOTING IN HIS HOME
Misdemeanor assault charges have been filed against an off-duty Chicago police officer who was arrested Tuesday after he became combative with officers who responded to a shooting inside his Southwest Side home.
Citing union contract restrictions, police declined to identify the officer, who has been freed on bail.
The shooting happened in the officer's home in the 10700 block of South Troy Street at about 4:45 a.m. Tuesday, according to a statement from Chicago police. The officer phoned 911 to report that a man had been shot in the head inside the home, police said.
The victim was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.
The officer's weapon was used in the shooting, said a law-enforcement source, who indicated the victim was a friend of the officer's.
Another source said the officer told police the victim had grabbed his gun and shot himself in the head. The department is continuing to investigate the shooting, and tests are pending, the source said.
Chicago detectives, the department's Internal Affairs Division and the Independent Police Review Authority are investigating the incident.
The officer, a veteran of six years on the force, has been stripped of his police powers. http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/

THE AFTER MATH OF CHILDHOOD SEXUAL ABUSE (by Dennis Thompson Jr.)
People who were sexually abused as children may have issues with sexual dysfunction and self-destructive behavior when they get older.
Sexual abuse leaves many scars, creating feelings of guilt, anger, and fear that haunt survivors throughout their lives. Adults who have undergone sexual abuse as children commonly experience depression and insomnia. High levels of anxiety in these adults can result in self-destructive behaviors, such as alcoholism or drug abuse, anxiety attacks, and situation-specific anxiety disorders.
The damage extends to the sexual abuse survivor's sense of their own sexuality. Many survivors also have trouble pursuing adult relationships and enjoying sex as an adult. The abuse can color a person's sexuality, preventing the survivor from pursuing a healthy sex life with a loving partner.
Sexual Abuse and Sexual Behaviors
In general, childhood sexual abuse survivors tend to either pursue sex recklessly as adults or to forgo sex completely, says Stephen L. Braveman, MA, a licensed marriage and family therapist in Monterey, Calif., and the western regional representative of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists. "They typically wind up with splitting behavior, where things become very black and white," he says. "Either they are very sexually active, or they shut down sexually." www.everydayhealth.com

Sweet Dreams 4
I remember back in June of 94,I was married to my 2nd abusive husband and pregnant with my now 14 year old son.Nicole Brown Simpson had been murdered. This sent a real chill down my spine.I can remember thinking, now her kids are left without a mother..But,I still remained in my abusive marriage for a little while longer. However,I did separate from him before my son was born.Of course this was not our first seperation.....ya,know the victim most always goes back to her abuser..You know the drill...'I'M Sorry' it won't happen again...Anyway on to Clue #3 CONTROLLING BEHAVIOR...The abuser wants to know your every move...if you arrive home late from an appointment or work, the abuser will become angry and accuse you of seeing someone else. The abuser at this point is very irrational.Trying to defend your actions or trying to reason with the abuser at this point can be very exhausting, to say the least. The abuser will want to control everything from what you wear,to where you go, to whom you talk too.Are you starting to wake up?Well,THERE'S EVEN MORE...AND IT GETS MORE SERIOUS AS WE GO ALONG...
SWEET DREAMS-THREE'S A CROWD
I can remember having the very misguided feeling of being special and ooh so loved, because my husband was so insanely jealous.I was foolish and naive enough to think that this was cute.I was 17,the first time I got married...of course,it was against my adopted parents better judgement. But,you already know...that of course, I did not listen to them.So many women feel unrealistically flattered by the potential abusers jealousy.WAKE UP! You are headed in a DANGER ZONE! I must also mention that,I have suffered from depression my whole life..So,of course this added to my insecurities and acceptance of allowing myself to be a victim time and time again for years..I must say when my 21 yr. old daughter started dating her soon to be abuser..I could do something that,I could not do each time I met one of my future abusers..It was if I had some kind of a built in radar..something that I did not have concerning my abusive relationships. He may as well have been wearing a label because I could see right through him.He absolutely, terrified me.I tried over and over again to warn my daughter to no avail. She stayed in the relationship.I could tell exactly when she was starting to see the REAL person that she too quickly became involved with..Which brings me to #2)QUICK INVOLVEMENT! That Worldwind Wanna Be Romance. The potential abuser comes on strong "You are the only one for me" or "you are the only person that I can trust or talk to"..Many abusers propose in less than six months.Potential abusers will often put pressure on their victims for commitment...to the point that the victim may feel guilty if they want to slow down the relationship. This is yet another important clue..PAY ATTENTION! If these two very important clues are not enough Believe me THERE ARE MORE!

Sweet Dreams Too
First,I would like to say the feelings of hopelessness and just sheer low self esteem can cause a woman to feel so worthless, that she feels somehow it is her fault that her partner is abusive to her. These feelings are Totally Untrue. Please,Please do not listen to these negative feelings. If you have a trusted family member or friend..Please confide in them and let them be a strong source of support. You CAN NOT CHANGE HIM! You are waisting valuable time,if you try.I know that I felt for years, like it was my fault..I thought 'It must be my fault,if I keep attracting these kinds of guys".If you do not have a friend or family member, talk to your family doctor. If this is not an option call 1-800-559-safe.I know that a lot of women stay in the relationship because of finances and their children or both.Especially today,in these hard economic times. It can be difficult. But,your life is priceless..just remember that.If you have young children, they desperately need you.For those of you that would like to know what to look for, as far as WARNING SIGNS..TO VIOLENT ABUSIVE BEHAVIOR..# 1)EXTREME JEALOUSY! He will tell you especially in the beginning of your relationship, that his jealousy is because he loves you so much..you are the best thing that has ever happened to him.He doesn't want lose you.WATCH OUT!
SWEET DREAMS (The beginning of this blog)
This blog is dedicated to women survivors of domestic violence.I was a victim of domestic violence for years. It is behind me now but,it recently touched my 21 year old daughter's life. All of the signs were there and I saw them and I desperately tried to warn her about them. But,of course she would not listen to me.Her ex-boyfriend recently set our house on fire as we were sleeping. The Lord awoke my daughter in time for her to alert us all(my husband & my two teenaged sons)we were able to escape without harm and our house was not very badly damaged.I have since installed a home security system. We all are still terrified because he was never arrested for the aggravated arson. The police did not have prove that he did it.Even though he posted a photo of himself, posing with a lighter burning,on a social network. My daughter has a 2yr. protection order against him.He violated it with telephone calls,he was arrested for this and he does have to go to court for it.In my blog I will list telltale signs of a potentially abusive person.I hope that I can help someone out there avoid becoming a victim of domestic violence.
MANHUNT IN PEORIA (published ALLVOICES) by me win59
On Tuesday Morning November 16th,my husband and I awoke to the startling news of two inmates escaping from the Peoria County Jail sometime between Monday 8:00pm and Tuesday 6:30am. James Fuller 44 and Aaron Cook 28 had managed to escape from the roof. The two had tied sheets together to lower themselves from the rooftop of the jail.(it was like something out of a movie) Fuller had been digging his escape thru the roof for well over a year.Aaron Cook had been in jail since March for breaking the arm of a 3 year old girl.James Fuller an unemployed felon, already convicted of armed robbery and rape was accused of attacking the same woman twice(I & my husband remember reading about the attack in our local newspaper)He is described as a very scary character.Police warned the public that Fuller is to be CONSIDERED DANGEROUS.But,what really made this very scary for me personally, was the fact that he was tracked down to the very neighborhood in which I live.Aaron Cook was captured several hours after the two escaped. He was found hiding in the basement of a residence and two people were arrested for obstructing justice. But,Fuller was still at large.Just blocks away,Fuller broke into a resident's home, tied him up and robbed him, taking a vehicle and a cell phone.Around 7:00 pm he reportedly left the stolen vehicle in a High School parking lot(he was in my area now). The police tracked the cell phone to an area that is like 2 blocks from my house! I was a paranoid mess and I can imagine the fear his victims must have felt upon the news of his escape. He was out there somewhere the entire night.Police finally captured him in a vacant house, where he reportedly surrendered without a struggle(he had left my area). It is reported that Serial Rapist James Fuller 6'3 and 225 lbs. was a patient at Zellers Mental Health Center(now closed down) 20 years ago, when he overpowered a worker and escaped(he was 24 yrs. old) he was at large for 5 days.He was a sixteen year old basketball star when he was first charged with rape,it is reported. But,thanks to the Peoria Police Department and local authority's James Fuller Serial Rapist and Man Of Terror is back behind bars!
