"Justice for Dustin!" crowd members shouted while huddled around the Mineral Springs Park Lagoon in Pekin.
The 27-year-old Mason City man disappeared Aug. 28 -six months ago Sunday - and was found about a week and a half later in a shallow grave behind a barn at his home.
After Dustin disappeared, police and volunteers scoured Mason City and the surrounding areas. Ten days later, Dustin's father, Randy, and his uncle, Rick Kelb, noticed some misplaced hay in a field on the family farm. Kelb began to dig - and uncovered a garbage bag holding Dustin's body.
Family members said they believe Dustin's murderer was a friend of his. Police, however, have not formally identified any suspects in the case.
Cheryl Potts, Dustin's mother, said police contact her about once every two weeks, but they don't say much - just that they're working on the case.
So Dustin's family, friends, fiancee and 10-year-old son are reaching out to attract attention to his case.
"We want to get the word out there," Potts said. "People need to talk. We need to get some justice for my son."
The crowd gathered near the water's edge for prayer and encouraging words.
"One day we'll get justice for Dustin, whether it's in this lifetime or another one," she said.
The Englebrecht family has been part of Pekin for many years, said Dustin's uncle, Donnie Englebrecht.
"We've done a lot for this town," he said. "We've helped a lot of people. But we get no justice. . . . When the system fails, the people don't understand. They start to feel anger and disbelief."READ FULL STORY AT:http://www.pjstar.com/

Police have a man in custody related to the shooting death of a 23-year-old Oak Lawn woman who was found shot in her home, according to Oak Lawn Mayor Dave Heilmann.
Heather Jesk, of the 4600 block of West 101st Street, was pronounced dead at 6:10 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Oak Lawn police officials would not comment, but Heilmann said law enforcement officials informed him Jesk was shot at about 10:45 p.m. Saturday.
He said she was shot in the head in what appeared to be a domestic shooting. The shooter fled, according to Heilmann, before calling police and informing them of his location.
While "horrible," Heilmann said the killing "was not random."
An autopsy conducted today determined that she died of a gun shot wound to the head and officials classified her death as a homicide, a spokeswoman with the Cook County medical examiner's office said---http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/

DRUNK DRIVER TO BLAME FOR WIFE AND MOTHER'S DEATH
One woman is dead and another in custody following a crash on Buckman Bridge that sent a sport utility vehicle hurtling off the bridge and into the dark waters of the St. Johns River.
The family of Luma Y. Kajy, 41, was left to mourn a wife and mother Sunday after she was killed traveling alone toward home the night before.
"She was the best. She went to church twice, maybe three times a week," said Paul Kajy, her husband of 12 years as he fought back tears Sunday.
According to a Highway Patrol report, Kajy's 2003 GMC SUV was southbound on the Interrstate 295 bridge when a 2002 Honda driven by Sasha Nicole Pringle, 31, of Jacksonville, also southbound, hit the SUV shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday, causing it to overturn and flip over the bridge's 3-foot-high retaining wall before falling 100 feet into the river.
Pringle left the scene with a witness in pursuit, according to the report. The chase ended at the Tivoli apartment complex in the 4200 block of Sunbeam Road, where authorities arrested Pringle. She is charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and DUI manslaughter, according to Jacksonville Sheriff's Office booking documents.
Rescuers pulled Kajy's SUV from the river at 3:10 a.m. Sunday. Divers located the vehicle under 45 feet of water about 1:20 a.m. after an exhaustive search, according to a Highway Patrol report. Two boats from the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department and a Navy boat began searching the waters about 10 p.m., fire spokesman John Bracey said.---READ FULL STORY AT:jacksonville.com

February 27, 2010 (LOS ANGELES) -- Marie Osmond's 18-year-old son Michael Blosil has died, the entertainer said Saturday.
Osmond said in a statement through her publicist that her family is devastated by the "tragic loss." She did not provide details on the death.
Entertainment Tonight reported on its Web site that Blosil jumped to his death Friday night from a downtown Los Angeles apartment building.
Officers responded to an apparent suicide jump in the area, but the victim was not identified Saturday, Los Angeles Police Officer Gregory Baek said.
"My family and I are devastated and in deep shock by the tragic loss of our dear Michael and ask that everyone respect our privacy during this difficult time," Osmond said in the statement.
Blosil reportedly left a note which referred to a lifelong battle with depression.
In 2007, Osmond said Michael was treated at a rehabilitation facility, but she didn't disclose the nature of his problem.
Donny Osmond, Blosil's uncle, told Entertainment Tonight: "Please pray for my sister and her family."
Michael is one of Osmond's five adopted children. She also has three other children from two marriages. She divorced Brian Blosil in 2007 after two decades of marriage. She and her first husband Stephen Craig divorced in 1985.
Osmond earned fame at age 13 with the hit song "Paper Roses," and starred with her brother, Donny, on television's "Donny and Marie Show" during the 1970s.
They perform a musical variety show regularly at the Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel and Casino. The hotel said Saturday's performance was canceled. (abc-wls)

Person of interest is being investigated in homicide (man was gunned down as he left store)
Police today were talking to a "person of interest" in connection with the fatal shooting of a Lockport resident as he left a corner grocery store on Joliet's east side this morning.
Joliet Police Chief Fred Hayes said Conley T. Ratcliff, 32, of the 2100 block of Luther Avenue, was approaching his car on the 1000 block of Woodruff Road around 10:20 a.m. when a man ran up to him, drew a handgun and began shooting.
Ratcliff attempted to run away after he was hit, but the offender continued shooting after Ratcliff fell to the ground, Hayes said. The assailant then fled on foot behind the store. The victim's girlfriend later told police he had gone to the store, less than a mile from his home, for cleaning supplies.
Ratcliff was taken to Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, where he was pronounced dead of multiple gunshot wounds. He is the city's third homicide victim in 2010.
Hayes said police suspect the shooting was gang-related. He stressed the individual being questioned by detectives was "down here voluntarily" and not under arrest.
Shortly after the shooting, police used a search dog to attempt to locate the assailant in the neighborhood. As a precautionary measure, an elementary school less than three blocks away was put on lockdown during the search. Hayes said the students and faculty were never in danger, but assigned a patrol officer there for the remainder of the school day.---http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/

FOLLOW-UP-Ohio Serail Killer Anthony Sowell
(CNN) -- An Ohio man already charged with murder in the deaths of 11 women has been indicted on new charges of kidnapping, attempted murder and felonious assault, a prosecutor announced Thursday.
Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Bill Mason said that a grand jury indicted Anthony Sowell on those charges in connection with the alleged assault of a 42-year-old woman.
No further details were released.
Sowell was already facing 85 charges -- including murder, rape and kidnapping -- following the discovery of 11 sets of human remains at his Cleveland, Ohio, home in October and November.
He pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity in December. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
Sowell is a registered sex offender who served 15 years in prison before being released in 2005.
Mason told CNN that the new charges are separate from those brought last year. "It's a whole new case," he said, adding that he expects these charges to be tried separately from the 85.
The new charges are related to an incident that allegedly occurred on April 21, 2009, Mason said.
Sowell and a woman, now 43, were "drinking and partying in the afternoon," the prosecutor said. "Later he attacked her, choked her, beat her a little bit.
"She was able to escape through some creative thinking," he said, explaining that the woman, whom he would not identify, pretended she was on the phone with a daughter. Sowell then allowed her to leave, Mason said.
Sowell's defense attorneys did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment.
The woman came to authorities as the bodies in Sowell's house were being discovered and authorities later corroborated her statement, Mason said
The prosecutor also said that his cold case unit is reviewing unsolved murders that occurred during the time Sowell lived in Cleveland and East Cleveland. Mason said the group is about two-thirds of the way through 75 cases.
He said evidence is not scheduled to be presented until June for the case involving the 85 charges.
In addition to the charges related to the deaths of the 11 women whose remains were found at his home, Sowell is also charged with assaulting three other women and raping two of them, authorities said. Most of the women whose remains were found were strangled by ligature -- which could include a string, cord or wire -- and at least one was strangled by hand, officials said. Seven still had ligatures wrapped around their necks. A skull is all that remains of one victim.---http://www.cnn.com/

NY HOSPITAL EMPLOYEE CHARGED WITH RAPING A DISABLED MALE PATIENT IN THE SHOWER...(You know this INSANE!)
Cops have arrested an employee at Kings County Hospital's new psychiatric unit on charges of raping a disabled male patient in the shower, the Daily News has learned.
Sources said the victim is developmentally disabled, deaf and mute. He reported the sexual attack two weeks ago to relatives, who notified hospital staff.
Larry Taylor, 30, was charged yesterday with a forcible sex act and sex abuse.
The attack happened a month after the city agreed to court-supervised monitoring of the facility in the wake of overcrowding, filthy conditions and excessive force against patients
Detectives from the NYPD special victims squad have been poring over surveillance video and awaiting forensic results before making an arrest, sources said yesterday.
Last year, the city opened a $153 million psychiatric unit at Kings County to replace the notorious G Building where deplorable conditions were documented in a federal suit filed by the state Mental Hygiene Legal Service and New York Civil Liberties Union
That suit led to the recent consent decree between the city and federal prosecutors in Brooklyn.
"This is the most serious incident in the new facility," a knowledgeable source said of the alleged sex assault.
Brooklyn Federal Judge Kiyo Matsumoto had ordered city lawyers to report back on provisions for screening employees of the psychiatric unit.
The News reported this month that a patient at Bronx Psychiatric Center was molested by an employee who is a registered sex offender in Florida.

Peoria Burglar And Sex Offender Faces Possible Life In Prison For His Crimes
PEORIA — A jury took about 90 minutes Thursday before finding a Northwest Peoria man guilty of home invasion and aggravated criminal sexual assault, felonies that will likely send him to prison for the rest of his life.
William Malone, 46, slumped down in a wheelchair as the guilty verdicts on 10 counts were read. He will next appear in court in May for his sentencing.
Besides the sexual assault and home invasion charges, he also was convicted of aggravated robbery, residential burglary, unlawful restraint and failing to register as a sex offender, all in connection with the June 18, 2009, break-in.
Malone has maintained he didn’t assault the victim or break into her apartment, located off Willow Knolls Road. Rather, he pinned it all on his brother, whose location isn’t known.
However, prosecutors said there were too many things that put Malone at the scene, including his DNA, an explicit video of the victim taken on his cell phone and the fact that the victim recognized his voice.
Prosecutors said the victim’s account was more accurate — that Malone used a key he obtained from the victim’s Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor and broke into her apartment. There he tied her up, forced her to drink a concoction of drugs and alcohol, and then sexually assaulted her.---http://www.pjstar.com/

Mother shot and killed in front of her 8 yr. old daughter
February 23, 2010 5:19 PM
Joliet police are seeking any information from the public about the fatal shooting of a 26-year-old mother early this morning on the city's east side.
Nichole A. Rodriguez of the 500 block of South Ottawa Street was gunned down in front of her 8-year-old daughter at 12:17 a.m. while sitting in a parked car in a driveway on the 500 block of East Benton Street, Joliet Police Chief Fred Hayes said today.
Police responding to calls of "shots fired" in the area found Rodriguez slumped over and unresponsive in the front passenger seat.
Witnesses told police two men walked up to the passenger side and fired into the car, hitting Rodriguez, Hayes said. She was taken to Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, where she was pronounced dead. Her daughter, who was in the back seat, and her 20-year-old sister-in-law, who was in the driver's seat, were not hit, Hayes said.
Investigators recovered nine spent shell casings on the passenger side of the car, Hayes said.
"It is very troubling for an 8-year-old girl to witness her mother being gunned down," Hayes said, terming the shooting "tragic and senselessly violent."
Hayes said police aren't sure Rodriguez was the intended target. None of the family members appeared to be involved with gangs, he said.
Police are reviewing security tape footage from a liquor store on the corner of Collins Street and Ward Avenue where two 17-year-olds with the women were in an altercation with two men earlier Monday night. But Hayes downplayed the videotape's significance, saying police have not made a connection between the altercation and the slaying, which were separated by nearly a mile. The 17-year-olds were not present during the shooting, Hayes said.
Hayes also said there is gang-related activity in the area where Rodriguez was slain. "We have had shootings in that neighborhood," he
said.
Hayes asked anyone with information about the shooting or the prior altercation to contact the Joliet Police Department's Investigation Division at 815-724-3020. Anonymous calls can be made to Crime Stoppers of Will County at 800-323-6734.---http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/

Tragic Drowning Accident
WATERLOO — A woman, her 7-year-old son and their 6-year-old friend apparently fell through ice and drowned in a St. Clair County lake, authorities said, and their bodies were recovered early Saturday.
Officials identified the victims as Kathy Baxmeyer, 40, and her son Kadin Baxmeyer, 7, both of Waterloo in St. Clair County, and Steven "Austin" Baum, 6, of Waterloo in Monroe County.
"It looks as if these children were out on the lake and the mother, Kathy, went to help them, and possibly saw that they were in distress, and then she drowned, also," St. Clair County Sheriff's Department Capt. Steve Johnson said. "That's our initial indication, there were no witnesses."
Authorities said they began investigating after receiving a report that the 6-year-old boy was missing.
Deputies found boots and gloves near a lake at the Baxmeyers' residence, officials said, and a police dog tracked the clothing's smell to a lake, where the three bodies were later recovered from 12 feet of water.
St. Clair County Coroner Rick Stone said autopsies Saturday found the three drowned Friday between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. The three were pronounced dead between 3:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. Saturday.
Stone said the boys were friends and their families were close.

A Niles woman says she suffered a concussion and memory loss after she was hit by a hockey puck at a north suburban Chuck E. Cheese's.
Reyna Mason, 45, filed a lawsuit Thursday against the parent company of the children's party venue, CEC Entertainment, Inc. It claims the restaurant didn't take adequate precautions to guard against injury from the air hockey table.
Mason was sitting in a booth, eating pizza and drinking pop at a Skokie Chuck E. Cheese's when a puck flew from an air hockey table and struck her on the right side of the head on Feb. 22, 2008, her attorney Sheldon Aberman said today.
Mason was there with her 9-year-old son as well as a friend and her 9-year-old son, Aberman said.
The injury from the puck has caused spells of dizziness and difficulty with her speech, Aberman said, who said she's seeing a neurologist since.
The puck wasn't the usual thin plastic disks used on air hockey tables but appeared to be a professional hockey puck, Aberman said. He described it as yellow, thick and heavy.
Mason does not have the puck, but plans to show an example of one in court, he said. "How that seemed to find its way on the table, we don't know," Aberman said.
He said he tried to discuss the matter with Chuck E. Cheese officials but did not get a response, which is why Mason decided to sue.
Mason alleges that Chuck E. Cheese failed to set up an adequate barrier between the booths near the hockey table.
Brenda Holloway, a spokeswoman for CEC Entertainment, Inc., of Irving, Texas, said company representatives have not seen the suit.
"We are not aware of the suit and, even when we are aware of it, we don't discuss pending litigation," Holloway said.
Mason is suing for more than $50,000.---http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/

TWO WOMEN ARGUE AND CLOWN OVER LIQUOR,ONE SERIOUSLY HURT
PEORIA — An argument about a half-pint of liquor Thursday night led to a knife fight in the North Valley that sent two women to the hospital, police said.
Jennifer A. Bell, 24, and Rosalie A. Edwards, 34, were attending a party after 10 p.m. at 2609 NE Madison Ave. when the intoxicated women began to argue about possession of the liquor bottle, police said. The dispute moved outside, where Bell allegedly pulled out a knife.
Edwards was sent to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center with a punctured lung, part of her ear cut off and stab wounds to her hands and torso. She remained Friday at the hospital in serious condition.
Bell was treated and released for a puncture wound to the torso, police said. Police only found one knife, and they were unsure what type of weapon may have caused Bell’s injury.
Police said Bell was arrested and booked on charges of attempted murder, mob action and criminal damage to property — the latter because of damage caused to a car parked on the street during the melee.
Upon her release, Edwards faces charges of aggravated battery, mob action and criminal damage to property.---http://www.pjstar.com/

A shoeless Staten Island thug was busted Thursday after he punched his sister in the face and then socked a firefighter who came to her aid, police and fire sources said.

AL SHARPTON'S DAUGHTER REPORTEDLY HIT IN MOUTH BY BOYFRIEND...
The boyfriend of the Rev. Al Sharpton's daughter was charged yesterday with misdemeanor assault for socking her in the mouth during an argument in Harlem, police sources said.
Latrelle Peeks, 23, allegedly punched Dominique Sharpton in the mouth Tuesday during an argument on W. 145th St.
Police sources said Peeks - who is 6-feet-7 and weighs 250 pounds - hit Sharpton, also 23, and also threw her out of a car while they were breaking up, sources said.
Dominique Sharpton reported the incident to police and was treated at Harlem Hospital for a cut inside her lip.
Yesterday, she told police she did not want Peeks arrested, but the NYPD's policy is to charge domestic violence offenders even if the victim doesn't cooperate.
Peeks' mother, Jewel Gomez, defended her son, saying: "He said he did not hit her. They had a scuffle and one thing led to another. ... I'm sure that if she had not been Sharpton's daughter, this would had been a private matter."

MURDER VICTIM'S WIFE PAINFULLY TESTIFIES ON THE WITNESS STAND...
Sharon Weber today tearfully described the day in April 1992 when she placed her 2-year-old and 3-week-old boys into the family car and went looking for her missing husband.
From the witness stand at the DuPage County Courthouse, she told how she spotted Jerry Weber's old van in an abandoned cornfield in Aurora where he had gone the evening before to look for flagstones for the family's backyard.
And then she saw Jerry on the ground.
"I ran to the front of the van," she testified. "He was lying in mud, face up. He had blood all over his face. I yelled at him and he didn't answer."
She drove several blocks to a pay phone to call police, and when she returned to the field, Aurora police were already there. One of them took her aside to tell her that her husband was dead.
Sharon Weber's testimony came on the opening day of the trial of Edward Tenney, the Aurora man accused of putting four bullets into her husband's head and robbing him of $6.
While Sharon Weber unsuccessfully fought back tears during her half-hour on the stand, Tenney sat still and stared directly at her.
But when she completed her testimony and walked from the stand, she stopped crying and gave him an icy stare in return.
DuPage County prosecutors will seek the death penalty for Tenney if he is convicted.
"This wasn't a murder; this was an execution," Assistant State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in his opening remarks.
Berlin said the evidence against Tenney includes the eyewitness account of Donald Lippert, Tenney's cousin, who claims he was with him when the crime occurred.
Tenney is already serving two life sentences for the 1993 murders of two Kane County women, both shot in their homes during robberies. Lippert has already pleaded guilty to participating in one of those murders and is serving a 60-year sentence.
The state will also present the two .22-caliber handguns from which the fatal bullets were allegedly shot into the victim's head.
Berlin also said police, going through Tenney's personal property several years after Jerry Weber's death, found the victim's wallet and several newspaper articles about the murder.
"Memories fade, but the truth doesn't change and justice will be done," Berlin said.
Defense attorney Mark Kowalczyk said in his opening statements that he questioned the strength of the state's evidence and told the jury, "You will be amazed at the state's incredible testimony from incredible witnesses."The trial expected to take about a month, began Tuesday after 3 weeks of jury selection.------------http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/

Ex-boyfriend stalks girlfriend and ends up shooting out her front window,he gets arrested and then released...
FARMINGTON — A Fairview man was jailed over the weekend after the front window of his ex-girlfriend's house was shot out while she and another person were in the living room.
Richard E. Kosowski, 59, of 32220 N. Coal Hollow Road was arrested by the Peoria County Sheriff's Department and booked at Peoria County Jail on a charge of aggravated discharge of a firearm. Kosowski has not been formally charged and was released Monday on a notice to appear.
The incident took place about 7:10 p.m. Saturday at 24634 W. Farmington Road. The home of Marti J. Skaggs, 45, has a Farmington address but actually is in Peoria County.
Skaggs told investigators Kosowski had been harassing her recently and she had her locks changed. Skaggs invited friend William V. Grim of Hanna City to the house to fix a problem with one of the locks, according to a police report.
Skaggs and Grim were talking in the living room when the double-paned window loudly blew in, causing both to jump onto the floor. The report indicated the shot appeared to have been fired from a shotgun.
When Skaggs looked outside, she saw what she believed was Kosowski's truck across the street in the parking lot of County Market, 1090 E. Fort St., the report said.
The sheriff's report indicated Kosowski's son, Farmington Police Department auxiliary officer Jarred Kosowski, requested that Richard Kosowski report to the police station for questioning. Later, the elder Kosowski was arrested.---http://www.pjstar.com/

This article is extremely sad and hard to read.....
Elijah Grays stood in the cold this morning, holding a box of photos of his children, occasionally bringing one close to his face so his failing eyes could see.
There was Elijah, his namesake, in a graduation gown. And Sallie, a new mom.
And now they were gone, along with another daughter, two grandchildren, his daughter's boyfriend and a family friend. All killed in a fire on the day they were to celebrate Grays' 49th birthday.
"I just lost a whole lot," Grays said, tears streaming down his face. "I'm just really hurt."
Grays said he had been looking forward to Sunday. All his kids and grandchildren were going to celebrate his birthday with cake. But a fire raced through their home early in the morning, and now Grays was faced with having to go to the morgue and identify them.
"I don't know if I can even see my kids," he said outside the motel where the rest of his family was taken after the fire at 3034 S. 48th Court in Cicero.
His daughter and the children were found dead in the attic of the home, their only means of escape -- a back stairwell -- blocked by flames.
"I wish I could have broke a hole in the wall," Grays said, crying.
Alfredo Banks, minister at Davis Memorial A.M.E. Church in LaGrange, has known the family for more than a dozen years. He said the surviving members "are broken, but they are being surrounded by a lot of love."
He said their mother, Allison Gist, was in a great deal of pain.
"To have your children calling out to you and you can't help them .... I imagine that any parent would feel for her," Banks said.
He believes they were living in the Cicero apartment for "well over a year." He said Allison Gist's priority was keeping everyone together, even her adult children.--http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/

Instead, they began striking her in the head, face and body while yelling at her to get out the rest of her money, she told police. After taking an undisclosed amount of cash and the video game system, the men threw her down on a bed, held a knife to her throat and said they would kill her if she told anyone what happened.
Rawson was admitted to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center on Thursday night and was discharged Friday.--http://www.pjstar.com/

PROSECUTER LAUGHS AT STATEMENT IN ANIMAL ABUSE CASE
A prosecutor stepped in it Wednesday - laughing in court while reading a suspect's statement about how she beat her dog for relieving itself in the elevator.
The lawyer for Tiara Davis blasted Assistant District Attorney Steven Constantiner for his lack of decorum.
"He was laughing and had to turn away because he couldn't control the laughter," said the Legal Aid lawyer, Stacy Schneider. "I didn't see any humor in the statement."
Davis, 31, is charged with beating a 9-pound Pomeranian named Sparky into unconsciousness in an elevator at the Grant Houses in Manhattan.
Cops say she told them: "It wasn't like I was killing him or anything like that. I mean I wasn't gonna really hurt him."
That's not what cracked up Constantiner. He apparently had a hard time containing himself when he came to a part of the statement where Davis described what Sparky did in the elevator.
"The assistant district attorney laughed briefly and unexpectedly while reading to the court the vulgarities the defendant used in her statement to police," said spokeswoman Erin Duggan, calling Constantiner a "fine young lawyer."
Constantiner declined comment.
The incident happened as Davis pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor animal-cruelty charges. Her lawyer denied the vocational counselor made the statements to cops.
Davis, who has since put Sparky up for adoption, was caught on video pounding the 4-year-old dog and was arrested by the ASPCA. She faces up to a year in jail.

SWEET DREAMS-STILL IN PAIN...
Today was really a boring day.I still have periods where I just break down and cry.I talked with my oldest daughter online off and on all day.She didn't have to work because of the blizzard on the East Coast. How long before this awful pain of losing my son will stop ripping at my soul? This is the most horrible feeling.Sometimes, I feel as if I can't breath. It really sucks the way your whole life can change in a flash.I finally have to take sedatives to sleep at night.I couldn't take the torture anymore of tossing and turning until dawn.Well, tomorrow's another day.Everyone be safe.
MAN JAILED FOR FOR BREAKING INFANTS LEGS AND ARM...(This is absolutely Insane,he should remain jailed period!)
Jerrold F. Eaton, 21, of 1501 E. Gardner Lane, Apt. 1417 was booked at Peoria County Jail on a charge of aggravated assault of a child. He was not formally charged Tuesday, and no bond has been set.
Detective Chris Ahart of the Peoria Heights Police Department said the infant was taken to a hospital Thursday with a broken arm. Eaton initially said he had dropped the infant, which caused the injury.
Further examinations of the infant by Pediatric Resource Center staff revealed there also were three broken bones in each of the infant's legs.
All of the infant's caregivers were questioned, Ahart said. After talking with Peoria Heights police for most of Monday afternoon, Eaton admitted to squeezing and twisting the infant's arm during fits of rage in which he blacks out, Ahart said. The broken legs also appear to have resulted from squeezing and twisting, Ahart said.
The bones were believed to have been broken for several days before the infant received medical attention, Ahart said.
Ruth E. Willman, 19, the infant's mother and Eaton's live-in girlfriend, was believed to have been in other rooms of the house and unaware what was happening when the injuries were inflicted, Ahart said.
The victim was the only child living in the apartment, Ahart said. The broken bones appear to be healing on their own, and doctors are hopeful there will be no long-term injuries, he said.
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is investigating. Ahart said he is unsure if the infant will be returned to the care of her mother.
"Any child case bothers you," Ahart said. "We're happy that it got resolved and the kid can be safe, and hopefully can grow up healthy."---http://www.pjstar.com/

FOLLOW-UP-Woman admits to murdering Celebrity Boss Linda Stein
She should have left me alone."
That's what Natavia Lowery told cops when she finally admitted she killed celebrity Realtor Linda Stein, a detective testified Tuesday.
Lowery had claimed a black-clad ninja-like man was the real killer, but caved when police told her the intruder couldn't have gotten into Stein's doorman building without being seen.
"No man came through the door," the former personal assistant allegedly told cops.
"I snatched the cane and hit her repeatedly with it ... hit her with what she had in her hand. She should have left me alone. It wasn't supposed to hurt like that."
The written confession, read in court by Detective Kevin Walla, came from a written statement 10 days after the Oct. 30, 2007, slaying.
Walla said Lowery confessed to using a 3-foot yoga stick to repeatedly bash Stein after she lit into her about work, blew marijuana smoke in her face and lashed out with a racial slur.
"She kept smoking in my face," Lowery said. "I couldn't take it any more."
Lowery said the pot smoke made her head spin and that she lost it when Stein screamed, "What the f--- is wrong with you, are you stuck on stupid?"
"I should have just left," the 28-year-old allegedly admitted.
The final straw came when Stein asked Lowery what she should order her for lunch.
When Lowery snapped that she had her own money. Stein, she said, pointed the yoga stick at her and shouted, "That is the first time I heard that from someone black."

MAN ATTACKED AND STABBED IN WALMART PARKING LOT
ST. MARYS, Ga. - A Lynchburg, Va., man is recovering from multiple stab wounds to the chest after he was attacked in the crowded parking lot of a St. Marys Walmart early Saturday night, police said.
Witnesses told police they saw three men chase the victim, Michael Shannon Grant, 39, in the parking lot at 6:14 p.m., throw him to the ground and punch him repeatedly.
One of the men stabbed Grant several times before two women who were with the attackers pulled him off the victim, said Lt. Johnny Guy, a St. Marys police detective.
After the attack, witnesses said the three men and two women ran through the parking lot and got into a white 2000 to 2005 Chevrolet Impala with a temporary Florida tag that began with the letter A. The vehicle had darkly tinted windows and possible front end damage, Guy said.
A witness applied pressure to the victim's wounds until emergency medical technicians arrived. Grant was flown by emergency medical helicopter to Shands Jacksonville where he was listed in good condition Monday, Guy said.
Grant told police he had recently moved to Jacksonville and apparently knew his attackers, Guy said.
Anyone with information that could help investigators is asked to call St. Marys police at (912) 882-4488.--jacksonville.com

WOMAN LEAVES 3 YEAR OLD NEPHEW AT FIREHOUSE...
Woman abandons boy at firehouse
February 9, 2010 7:50 AM
A woman who abandoned her alleged 3-year-old nephew at a firehouse Monday night, told firefighters there she was in the military and on her way to catch a flight to Virginia.
The woman dropped the boy off at a firehouse at 1440 E. 67th St at about 9:15 p.m. Monday, said Police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak.
She told firefighters the boy was her nephew and his mother--the woman's sister--left the child with her three days ago and failed to pick him up, said Kubiak, citing a preliminary police report. The woman said her flight to Virginia was scheduled to leave at 11:30 p.m. Monday and she could no longer care for him, Kubiak said.
Under Illinois' "safe haven" law, parents or gardens can legally leave a child up to 1 month old at a designated place such as a hospital, fire or police station--well over the age of the abandoned boy. Charges could be brought against the person who abandoned him.
The child was described as in good condition. No further information was available.---http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/

THE AFTER MATH OF CHILDHOOD SEXUAL ABUSE (by Dennis Thompson Jr.)
People who were sexually abused as children may have issues with sexual dysfunction and self-destructive behavior when they get older.
Sexual abuse leaves many scars, creating feelings of guilt, anger, and fear that haunt survivors throughout their lives. Adults who have undergone sexual abuse as children commonly experience depression and insomnia. High levels of anxiety in these adults can result in self-destructive behaviors, such as alcoholism or drug abuse, anxiety attacks, and situation-specific anxiety disorders.
The damage extends to the sexual abuse survivor's sense of their own sexuality. Many survivors also have trouble pursuing adult relationships and enjoying sex as an adult. The abuse can color a person's sexuality, preventing the survivor from pursuing a healthy sex life with a loving partner.
Sexual Abuse and Sexual Behaviors
In general, childhood sexual abuse survivors tend to either pursue sex recklessly as adults or to forgo sex completely, says Stephen L. Braveman, MA, a licensed marriage and family therapist in Monterey, Calif., and the western regional representative of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists. "They typically wind up with splitting behavior, where things become very black and white," he says. "Either they are very sexually active, or they shut down sexually." www.everydayhealth.com

Sweet Dreams 4
I remember back in June of 94,I was married to my 2nd abusive husband and pregnant with my now 14 year old son.Nicole Brown Simpson had been murdered. This sent a real chill down my spine.I can remember thinking, now her kids are left without a mother..But,I still remained in my abusive marriage for a little while longer. However,I did separate from him before my son was born.Of course this was not our first seperation.....ya,know the victim most always goes back to her abuser..You know the drill...'I'M Sorry' it won't happen again...Anyway on to Clue #3 CONTROLLING BEHAVIOR...The abuser wants to know your every move...if you arrive home late from an appointment or work, the abuser will become angry and accuse you of seeing someone else. The abuser at this point is very irrational.Trying to defend your actions or trying to reason with the abuser at this point can be very exhausting, to say the least. The abuser will want to control everything from what you wear,to where you go, to whom you talk too.Are you starting to wake up?Well,THERE'S EVEN MORE...AND IT GETS MORE SERIOUS AS WE GO ALONG...
SWEET DREAMS-THREE'S A CROWD
I can remember having the very misguided feeling of being special and ooh so loved, because my husband was so insanely jealous.I was foolish and naive enough to think that this was cute.I was 17,the first time I got married...of course,it was against my adopted parents better judgement. But,you already know...that of course, I did not listen to them.So many women feel unrealistically flattered by the potential abusers jealousy.WAKE UP! You are headed in a DANGER ZONE! I must also mention that,I have suffered from depression my whole life..So,of course this added to my insecurities and acceptance of allowing myself to be a victim time and time again for years..I must say when my 21 yr. old daughter started dating her soon to be abuser..I could do something that,I could not do each time I met one of my future abusers..It was if I had some kind of a built in radar..something that I did not have concerning my abusive relationships. He may as well have been wearing a label because I could see right through him.He absolutely, terrified me.I tried over and over again to warn my daughter to no avail. She stayed in the relationship.I could tell exactly when she was starting to see the REAL person that she too quickly became involved with..Which brings me to #2)QUICK INVOLVEMENT! That Worldwind Wanna Be Romance. The potential abuser comes on strong "You are the only one for me" or "you are the only person that I can trust or talk to"..Many abusers propose in less than six months.Potential abusers will often put pressure on their victims for commitment...to the point that the victim may feel guilty if they want to slow down the relationship. This is yet another important clue..PAY ATTENTION! If these two very important clues are not enough Believe me THERE ARE MORE!
MY SECOND SWEET DREAMS ENTRY

Sweet Dreams Too
First,I would like to say the feelings of hopelessness and just sheer low self esteem can cause a woman to feel so worthless, that she feels somehow it is her fault that her partner is abusive to her. These feelings are Totally Untrue. Please,Please do not listen to these negative feelings. If you have a trusted family member or friend..Please confide in them and let them be a strong source of support. You CAN NOT CHANGE HIM! You are waisting valuable time,if you try.I know that I felt for years, like it was my fault..I thought 'It must be my fault,if I keep attracting these kinds of guys".If you do not have a friend or family member, talk to your family doctor. If this is not an option call 1-800-559-safe.I know that a lot of women stay in the relationship because of finances and their children or both.Especially today,in these hard economic times. It can be difficult. But,your life is priceless..just remember that.If you have young children, they desperately need you.For those of you that would like to know what to look for, as far as WARNING SIGNS..TO VIOLENT ABUSIVE BEHAVIOR..# 1)EXTREME JEALOUSY! This blog is dedicated to women survivors of domestic violence.I was a victim of domestic violence for years. It is behind me now but,it recently touched my 21 year old daughter's life. All of the signs were there and I saw them and I desperately tried to warn her about them. But,of course she would not listen to me.Her ex-boyfriend recently set our house on fire as we were sleeping. The Lord awoke my daughter in time for her to alert us all(my husband & my two teenaged sons)we were able to escape without harm and our house was not very badly damaged.I have since installed a home security system. We all are still terrified because he was never arrested for the aggravated arson. The police did not have prove that he did it.Even though he posted a photo of himself, posing with a lighter burning,on a social network. My daughter has a 2yr. protection order against him.He violated it with telephone calls,he was arrested for this and he does have to go to court for it.In my blog I will list telltale signs of a potentially abusive person.I hope that I can help someone out there avoid becoming a victim of domestic violence.
MANHUNT IN PEORIA (published ALLVOICES) by me win59
On Tuesday Morning November 16th,my husband and I awoke to the startling news of two inmates escaping from the Peoria County Jail sometime between Monday 8:00pm and Tuesday 6:30am. James Fuller 44 and Aaron Cook 28 had managed to escape from the roof. The two had tied sheets together to lower themselves from the rooftop of the jail.(it was like something out of a movie) Fuller had been digging his escape thru the roof for well over a year.Aaron Cook had been in jail since March for breaking the arm of a 3 year old girl.James Fuller an unemployed felon, already convicted of armed robbery and rape was accused of attacking the same woman twice(I & my husband remember reading about the attack in our local newspaper)He is described as a very scary character.Police warned the public that Fuller is to be CONSIDERED DANGEROUS.But,what really made this very scary for me personally, was the fact that he was tracked down to the very neighborhood in which I live.Aaron Cook was captured several hours after the two escaped. He was found hiding in the basement of a residence and two people were arrested for obstructing justice. But,Fuller was still at large.Just blocks away,Fuller broke into a resident's home, tied him up and robbed him, taking a vehicle and a cell phone.Around 7:00 pm he reportedly left the stolen vehicle in a High School parking lot(he was in my area now). The police tracked the cell phone to an area that is like 2 blocks from my house! I was a paranoid mess and I can imagine the fear his victims must have felt upon the news of his escape. He was out there somewhere the entire night.Police finally captured him in a vacant house, where he reportedly surrendered without a struggle(he had left my area). It is reported that Serial Rapist James Fuller 6'3 and 225 lbs. was a patient at Zellers Mental Health Center(now closed down) 20 years ago, when he overpowered a worker and escaped(he was 24 yrs. old) he was at large for 5 days.He was a sixteen year old basketball star when he was first charged with rape,it is reported. But,thanks to the Peoria Police Department and local authority's James Fuller Serial Rapist and Man Of Terror is back behind bars!
