SWEET DREAMS--My Best Friend 13---In search of......I REALLY DID FIND MY BEST FRIEND!!
Well I called my best friend tonight!!! It took her three guesses to figure out who I was.When she answered the phone I immediately recognized her voice.She sounds exactly the same and is still a real sweetheart of a person.Her last husband passed away over 13 years ago.She now has 7 grandchildren.I expressed my sympathy for the passing of her dad and she expressed her's to me over the loss of my son.A family member of hers from back home had relayed the death of my son to her already.She said that she was doing fine and her first love had been released from prison about a year and a half ago.She said they had hooked back up and now she was regretful about it.I don't think he's crazy enough to hit her nowadays,I think her now adult children would probably kill him.Anyway she sounded good and she also told me that she opened her own Daycare Center.She always did love kids.She was a great Mom to her own children and I'm sure that she is a terrific Grandma.She told that she travels back to our hometown every weekend to see her Mom and that she would stop by and see me.I gave her my address and I really do look forward to seeing her again.I told her that I love her a bunch and I would be calling her again soon.Today was a really good day!!!

I THINK I FOUND HER!!! My best friend still lives in Rantoul! I looked up her dad's 2005 obituary and her name at that time was listed.I'm so excited and can't wait to talk to her.I'll be calling her tonight.I'm as excited as a child shopping in a huge toystore! What do you say after almost 20 years? I sure hope that she's doing great.I'll have to tell her that I lost my 27 year old son last December.Hopefully this will be the best Friday I've had for a loooooong time!!!
FOLLOW-UP--MAN CAPTURED WHO TRIED TO RUN DOWN STATE TROOPER
Illinois State Police this morning arrested a Minooka man they believe drove the car that struck a trooper as he man a DUI traffic stop in Kendall County on April 3, according to a statement.
Brian Haggerty, 36, was charged with leaving the scene of a personal-injury crash, state police said. He is being held in Kendall County Jail.
The crash happened at 2:47 a.m. at U.S. Interstate 80 westbound near milepost 122 east of the Ridge Road/Minooka exit, officials said in a press release.
The District 5 trooper was conducting a traffic stop on a possible drunk driver at the location when a vehicle struck the trooper and the driver's side door of the vehicle that was stopped, officials said.
The trooper suffered a broken ankle and was treated and released from Morris Hospital, officials said.
After the crash, police collected debris from the scene that made them believe the car in question was a purple or maroon 1998 to 2001 Chrysler Concorde with damage to its front headlight area.--http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/

SON TELLS POLICE HIS DAD KILLED A WOMAN YEARS AGO...(He lead police to the site where her body was dumped)
(CNN) -- The remains of a woman who disappeared 22 years ago in northern California have been found after the son of the woman's purported killer guided police to the site where her body was dumped, investigators announced Thursday.
The alleged killer's son told authorities that he watched his father kill 27-year-old Lysandra Marie Turpin in 1988 and that his dad forced him to help dispose of the body, the Humboldt County, California, Sheriff's Office announced.
Ernest Samuel Christie III, who was 16 at the time, told authorities that his now-dead father, Ernest Samuel Christie Jr., made him help dump Turpin's body in a ditch near their home in Fieldbrook, California, about 80 miles south of the Oregon border. Christie said his father forced him to help cover the body with tires, douse it in gasoline and set it on fire, Humboldt County Sheriff Gary Philp said in a statement Thursday.
Christie's dad had held and abused Turpin at his house for several weeks before killing her, Christie told the sheriff's office. She had been reported missing to Humboldt County law enforcement on April 8, 1988.
After Christie supplied the sheriff's office with a map of where the body had been dumped, a team of detectives, evidence technicians, and sheriff's deputies found teeth, clothing and charred bones. A forensic odontologist positively identified the remains as Lysandra Turpin on Wednesday, according to Philp.
Ernest Samuel Christie Jr. died in 2006, according to the sheriff's office. His son, now 38 and living in North Carolina, contacted the sheriff's office in February. He is not facing criminal charges, Philp said.

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - A suburban New York City mayor accused of slamming a door on his wife's hand tried to get her to recant her assault charge against him, suggesting she go to a mental hospital and claim she was crazy, prosecutors said Thursday.
He also told her she should hang herself, court papers allege.
White Plains Mayor Adam Bradley was arrested Thursday and arraigned on charges of witness tampering, contempt and harassment, said Lucian Chalfen, spokesman for the Westchester County district attorney's office.
Bradley, 48, pleaded not guilty and was released without bail, Chalfen said. A call to Bradley's attorney, Luis Andrew Penichet, was not immediately returned.
The mayor, a Democrat and former member of the state Assembly, already was facing charges of assault, attempted assault and harassment. He was arrested Feb. 28 after his wife, Fumiko Bradley, told police he deliberately closed a door on her hand.
Adam Bradley was in just his second month as mayor. Until his arrest, he had been considered a politician on the rise.
On March 5, Fumiko Bradley announced through her lawyer that she did not want her husband prosecuted and would not cooperate. Her attorney said then that some of her allegations "may not be accurate."

Bruce Beresford-Redman must remain in Mexico after being released just past midnight Friday, Quintana Roo state investigator Veronica Acacio said.
"He won't be able to leave the country until we conclude our investigation into what caused her death," Acacio said.
Police detained the 38-year-old producer as a suspect Thursday after finding the body of Monica Beresford-Redman in a sewer at Cancun's Moon Palace resort, where the family was on vacation.
Her body had scratches on the neck, signs of asphyxiation and a heavy blow to the right temple, said Francisco Alor, the attorney general for Quintana Roo state, where Cancun is located.
"What we need to determine is whether that blow was from falling into the sewer," Alor said late Thursday, adding that authorities had determined she died Monday night.
Her husband had scratches on his face and arms, he said, and several guests heard an argument in the couple's room Monday night. Bruce Beresford-Redman told a hotel employee sent to check that they were fighting over their two children, according to Alor.

Brazilian media reported that she was born in Rio de Janeiro and her parents still live in the South American country.
"They weren't lovey-dovey, at least when I saw them, and they didn't smile a lot," said Ratana Necth, 36, a nanny for a family in the Palos Verdes Peninsula neighborhood where the Beresford-Redmans and their two children lived. Necth described the couple as nice and said they always seemed "on the go."
Bruce Beresford-Redman was a producer for several episodes of the Emmy-nominated CBS reality show "Survivor," including "The Amazon" and "Marquesas" seasons, but was not currently working with the program, according to his profile on IMDb.com.
The Internet Movie Database also names him as the co-creator of "Pimp My Ride," a popular MTV car makeover show, and as an executive producer for "Crash Course," a driving game show produced by A. Smith & Co. Productions that aired on ABC last summer.

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. -- A 38-year-old southern Indiana woman faces charges of sexual misconduct with a minor after police say she had oral sex with a 15-year-old boy during a drinking party at her Floyds Knobs home.
Authorities say Mary Dennis had sex with at least three other teens during parties in September, but those teens were older than 16, Indiana's age of consent.
Dennis also is accused of serving alcohol to at least six teens, including her 13-year-old daughter. She also was charged this week with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and neglect.
Defense attorney Paige Gabhart says Dennis' divorce was finalized early this year and she had been going through "a number of stressors" at the time of the alleged incidents.

Police arrested a Somerville man on April 2 after he threatened to kill a woman with a knife.
At about 4:38 p.m., police responded to Putnam Gardens for a domestic disturbance and found the suspect sitting on a bench outside. He was searched, but no weapons were found.
The victim told police the suspect came home drunk and got mad when he didn’t find dinner ready. She said he became agitated and began yelling, so she decided to cook some food to calm him down.
As she started working in the kitchen, he followed her and allegedly removed a large knife from the wooden block, made stabbing motions towards her chest, threatening, “I’m going to kill you.” The victim told police she was in fear of her safety.
Pierre Job Luxama, 39 of 40 Gov. Winthrop Road, Somerville, was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, according to the report.---http://www.cambridgechronicle.com/
