TEEN ACCUSED OF SEXUAL ASSAULT ON A 16 YEAR OLD GIRL IN CHURCH BATHROOM ATTEMPTS SUICIDE...
A 17-year-old boy accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl at a Waxahachie church is hospitalized in Dallas today after he attempted to commit suicide, authorities said.
Heritage Baptist Church When he’s released from the hospital, the boy, who was not identified, will be taken into custody and charged with sexual assault, said Lt. Jason Westmoreland, a spokesman for the Ellis County Sheriff’s Department.
"The offense itself is pretty cut and dry," he said. "We don't know why [he did it] until we get a chance to talk to him."
The alleged attack occurred about 7 p.m. Wednesday in a restroom at Heritage Baptist Church in Waxahachie. A Bible study was scheduled that night at the church.
When adults confronted the boy, he threatened to take his own life, Westmoreland said, and when police arrived he attempted to cut his throat with a straight razor. He was airlifted to a Dallas hospital.
Westmoreland said the girl did not suffer any injuries that required medical attention.
"It's sad anywhere," the lieutenant said of the attack, “but especially at the church."

FOUR YEAR OLD SPECIAL NEEDS STUDENT LEFT ON BUS ALONE...
When 4 year old Kevin Johnson didn't show up at the bus stop after school, his mother and father knew something was wrong. It took hours before officials realized he had been left on his school bus.
Kevin is slightly autistic and has trouble speaking, so he hasn't talked about what happened to him Friday evening, but his parents have.
"They told me he never got on the bus on the way home from school," said Kevin's mother Valdelcia Johnson. "They didn't know where he was. Nobody knew where he was. I didn't know, I was frantic."
There was no sight of Kevin at Sylvan Park Elementary School, no sight of him at home. For hours, no one, not even Kevin's special needs bus driver, realized he was still trapped inside his own bus.
"She went home for whatever reason, and forgot my son was on the bus. He ended up getting off the bus by himself and was walking on a corner and they found him with a security guard," said Johnson.
Officer Sunny Park with the Metro Nashville Police Department found Kevin wandering the streets of Bordeaux. He was eventually reunited with his parents.
"It was all kind of weird, things flew through my mind. It was horrifying for that three hours or so," said father Kevin Young.
The 4-year-old's parents want to know how the driver could have made such a mistake.
"I would have thought by him being on a special needs bus they would take more precautions with the children," said Young.
"That's child endangerment. There's no other way to put it. You left a 4-year-old on the bus by himself," said Johnson.
Until something is done, Kevin's parents said he won't be riding the bus home anytime soon.---http://www.newschanel5.com/

STALKER SHOT BY POLICE...
FRANKFORT TOWNSHIP -- A man who was allegedly menacing his former girlfriend with a gun at her home was shot by a Will County sheriff's deputy Friday morning.
Spokesman Pat Barry said it was around 6 a.m. when the woman came out of her house in the 7500 block of West Benton Drive to walk her dog.
Richard Petrick (inset), 48, of Merrillville, Ind., was shot by a Will County Sheriff's deputy this morning inside an ex-girlfriend's home in the 7500 block of Benton Drive in Frankfort Square.

"She saw Richard Petrick, 48, who she has an active order of protection against, in the bushes near the front of the residence," Barry said.
The woman reportedly ran around to the back door, went inside and pushed a panic button on the alarm system, which police said were recently installed as the result of prior confrontations with Petrick.
"At the same time, a deputy was on patrol nearby and came down Benton Street because we have been watching over that residence because of the suspect," Barry said. "He observed Petrick in the front yard with a handgun."
The deputy called for backup and followed Petrick to the back door as other deputies, Frankfort and Mokena police arrived.
With other officers on the scene, Petrick was repeatedly ordered to drop the gun, but went inside instead.
As Petrick was coming in the back, the victim's daughter smashed out the window of a bedroom at the front of the yellow house and lept from the second floor, landing on a gray Dodge parked in the driveway.
"Deputies went inside and found Petrick hiding behind (the corner of) a partial wall still carrying the gun. (A veteran) deputy shot him once," Barry said. The deputy who fired the shot was not the first on the scene.
An ambulance arrived and took a "critically" injured Petrick to St. James Hospital in Olympia Fields. He was later airlifted to Advocate Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn.
Police and the woman he reportedly threatened were not injured.(surburbanchicagonews)

An on-duty county police officer allegedly pulled over a woman on the freeway in Westchester and sexually molested her, prompting a call Friday for more victims that might be out there to come forward.

CHP officers pulled up behind the 8 p.m. traffic stop to make sure the officer was safe, and was told by Clark that everything was fine.
The woman, who is undocumented, did not call police. Instead, she contacted reporters at Spanish-language television KMEX to report what happened.

FOUR ARRESTED IN HATE CRIME BEATING...
Four suspects have been arrested on bias charges for using a bat to bash the skull of a Mexican immigrant on Staten Island, officials said.
"You're a f------ Mexican," the suspects allegedly told the 26-year-old bakery worker. "We're gonna beat you up."
The victim was hospitalized with a fractured skull after the Monday attack but is expected to make a full recovery.
Rolston Hopson, 27, Tyrone Goodman, 17, and a 15-year-old boy, all of whom are black, and William Marcano, 17, who is Hispanic, were charged with hate-crime assault. Police said the gang was caught on video armed with a bat and a chain before the attack.

MAN CHARGED WITH RAPING A 9 YEAR OLD AT A BIRTHDAY PARTY...
Cambridge — A 24-year-old Cambridge man who was charged with allegedly raping a 9-year-old at a birthday party worked at the King Open after-school program. The incident, according to officials, did not occur on school premises.
Cambridge resident Christopher Bradshaw was arrested and arraigned on April 8 in Cambridge District Court on one count of child rape. Cambridge District Court Judge Michelle Hogan ordered Bradshaw held on $5,000 cash bail with conditions.
The District Attorney's office Thursday refused to name the after-school program at that time, but Bradshaw maintains a LinkedIn profile.
The incident allegedly happened at a child's birthday party on April 1. Bradshaw was a guest at the party and a friend of the victim’s mother. The victim’s sister allegedly witnessed Bradshaw sexually assaulting her brother at 11 p.m. after he went downstairs to watch TV with the victim, according to a press release from the District Attorney's office.
A Cambridge parent of a third grader who attends the after-school program at King Open did not know about this incident and is concerned. She said parents had not been informed as of today.
Justin Martin, a Cambridge Public Schools spokesman, did not respond to calls and an e-mail for comment, but an extended day school staffer said Bradshaw was, as of last week, not working for the school.
According to a list of city salaries published by the Chronicle last year, Bradshaw worked in the extended day program as an assistant teacher and made $7,775 in one fiscal year.
This case remains under investigation and anyone with information about this, or related matters is urged to contact the Cambridge Police Department at 617-349-3300 or the Middlesex District Attorneys Office’s Child Abuse Unit at 781-897-8400.
